  1. hrm... while you guys are on the topic of LSD's... what would be the advantage of a 1.5 way LSD over a 1 way? i understand for drifting why you need a 1.5 way or 2 way LSD, but for pure circuit work, i don't understand what benefit it would have, as its going to compromise the handling of the car... i.e. will 'push' you through a corner, even when off the throttle.. whereas with a 1-way it will only push when on the throttle... or maybe i'm not understanding at all?
  2. and also will the 324mm rotors fit under a standard 16" rim?
  3. but Roy, without actually upgrading the calipers as well, is there any real benefit of upgrading the size of the discs.... as you wouldn't be able to use the whole face of the 324mm disc?

  5. Hi All, My brake pads are just about Fubar, so its time to upgrade! Now, i was thinking, seeing as i do some sprint/circuit stuff, and intend to do some more this year, i would like something that brakes well... I'm looking at getting: Standard Size DBA4000 Slotted Rotors for the front Machine Standard Rear Rotors Ferodo DS2500 Pads on both Front and Rear Brake Master Cylinder Stopper i already run fresh Motul RBF600 Fluid in the lines, so i don't think i'll need to do anything there... *If needed* possibly a caliper rebuild... what are your thoughts on this combo? yes? no? Anything else i should look at that isn't going to break the bank?

  7. i have an RB25 turbo that you could have.... Series 1 i believe, comes with actuator... i bought it to upgrade my RB20 one, but when i installed it, it makes a whine, even at idle/light throttle.... the weird thing is it has virtually no shaft play at all, both wheels appear to be in perfect condition, it makes boost fine, it just makes this weird noise, lol.... i paid $350 for it.... will sell for $250 ono
  8. what about cryo-treating the gearsets? possibly cheaper.... don't know the 'real world' benefits though, as i haven't seen any back-to-back comparisons of before/after, only the 'claims' of what it does...

  10. 2nd lap round the 'Ring just then in a stock R34 GTR, no driving assists, manual, standard tyres - 8:03:316 wasn't a very clean lap, i could probably shave another 2 or 3 seconds off that....

  12. i'm wondering the same thing, as my gearbox seems to be dealing with my power okay (only 170rwkw, and i don't think i'll be chasing more) however it is whining like a biatch, and if its worthwhile, i might just get it rebuilt (anyone know a rough price for a gearbox rebuild?) Frankly, i don't see the point in doing an RB25 box conversion, when the RB20 box seems to be handling the power okay, and for the same money as the conversion with the 2nd hand rb25 box, i could have a brand new RB20 box? thoughts?

  17. yeah, he runs it on ULP because he's an IMPORTER and he DOESN'T GIVE A CRAP about what happens to the cars, as they're not his for very long, lol.. as for your dad, well, he should be using PULP in his cars as well, as thats what BMW Recommend. He could possibly be voiding his warranty (though, by the sounds of it, that ran out a while back, if its a 93 model), as BMW Recommend their customers use PULP
  18. i've seen my injectors run at over 100% duty cycle before.... hell, they're running at about 90 - 95% usually... and the mixtures are still fine, and still have plenty of ability to flow more... i.e. the injectors are not running out of puff yet...

So, what... you were planning on putting something bigger than 4L in your R33? and Sarumatix - when i had my AE86, i spoke to an engineer about getting my 4age conversion engineered.. he advised me that if the vehicle came out with that engine in another model (i.e. GTR in your case, or in my case the Jap version of the AE86), it was fine to transplant the engine into your vehicle, as long as the braking/suspension/driveline was all upgraded to the specs of the donor car as well.
