Well most of you would be well aware of what happened yesterday about the unfourunate attack on a Latrobe University student in the Borchardt library toilets. I was actually in the library when this occured.
I was sitting at a computer station amongst another 30 people or so.. and it was dead quiet. Then to my suprise as im deep in writing a paper on global environmetal issues i hear screaming. It was actually very very loud considering how quiet a library is. The poor girl comes running down the main flight of stairs behind me screaming and holding her side. Everyone didnt know what was happening. Word got around within a few seconds after she yelled that she had been stabbed and about half the people around me evacuated the library immediately. Within a minute or two, Latrobe security were on the scene (full credit to there quick respose) and everyone started exiting the library. About 10 people stayed around the girl and compforted her the best they could until medic could arrive. By then i was on my way out of the library.
Anyway pretty hairy stuff. I didnt realise the extent of it. (maybe just thought it was a dispute between 2 girls and one of them stabbed the other with a pen or something)
Apparently this girl is a little crazy! and had thoughts of killing someone, brought steak knives to school, and waited in the bathroom for someone.
Well thats my story, nothing too amazing or nothing that most havent heard on the news. I hope the girl makes a fully recovery and is back on her feet as soon as possible. And the bitch that did that, gets exactly whats she deserves. the full extent of the law. (anyone know how, when and where they caught her?)
I think that the University and Library staff handled the situation very well and responded immediately.
any other experiences or insights?
