  1. from what i gathered from nissan siliva they just use the stock r33 engine cross member (which all bolts straight up), then to get the extra clearence they use shorter mounts. A bloke on nissan silva used 2L cortina mounts, funny but it worked, drop the engine a shite load. He was running just a rb25det, but the extra clearance he gained i would think that the 38mm taller rb30 block would fit nicely. It doesnt have to be 2L cortina mounts, just go through an engine mount catelog and just get a set of flat mounts that dont have locating points that are "shorter" than the r33's, but since the cortina mount has been proven you'd be crazy not to have a look at that first. Other than that, theres a few little problems, like not many people run aircon in the s14a with the rb25 conversions because they tend to overheat (i dont understand why it would, but thats the common problem), and you'll have to buy some decent thin thermos (but in the scheme of things thats nothing) Worst case senario, even with the lower mounts, a vented/bonnet bulge should see it home. Goodluck with it, the s14a wont know what hit it
  2. how much extra for the internal pickup? will it come with everything to "plug n play"?
  3. hahahaha, might as well spit in his face...
  4. so it was getting hot... better get the head skimmed whilst its off
  5. i'll give you $100 for the crank if its unscored
  6. didnt know they made a rb20 neo.... i would of thought they would be the same. The rb25 and rb25neo are exactly the same bolt pattern wise, for both the inlet and exhaust side.
  7. haha didnt even know that computer management was there.... cheers for the link, will try that tonight
  8. haha ok, i re-read the post a few times with a confused look on my face My bros gtst use to run between 78-80 degrees according to the powerfc, so 90degrees might be a tad warm. Definately not hot enough to do damage, but if your coolant is boiling in the top tank that means its getting hotter than 90degrees, more like 110+ which is definately a problem. Since there is such a big drop in temp with no thermostat, i would still be inclined to think its thermostat related. Check the specs of the thermostat with the manual, and if you have an accurate gauge heat some water upto 80degrees and see if it fully opens at that temperature. After that i would order a low temp nismo thermostat and see what happens
  9. coilpacks brand new inbox? likewise for the cams?
  10. bloody brilliant mate, looks great
  11. doooo iiiitttttttt hahaha
  12. If the thermostat is rated to 90degrees, and you car runs between 85-90, whats the problem?
  13. If you take the radiator cap off, start the car and get it to operating temperature, can you the coolant flowing along the top tank? Have you had a leakdown test done on the motor to make sure the headgasket isnt leaking? You're running a genuine pump, but are you running a genuine thermostat? I've had several dodgy aftermarket thermostats, so from now on i never use anything but genuine. Since the radiator is new (assuming its totally clean), there is only one reason why the top will stay hot and the bottom cold which is the water pump isnt sucking the coolant. Since its a brand new genuine pump we can be safe to assume that the pump itself is ok, which only leaves the one restricition between the pump and radiator and thats the thermostat. Since you took the thermostat out and it ran at 60-70 degrees, i would say that for what ever reason the thermostat is shit (even though its your third). I would boil a cup of water and stick the thermostat in it and time how long it takes to open.
  14. Just freezes, mouse doesnt move and no keyboard actions work (ie ctr alt dlt, alt f4 etc) Doesnt go black or blue screen and no error messages. I bought a pci card off ebay for $10delivered (comes with cd driver), so i'll see if that fixes it. I originally thought it was the driver since it said it was a 2002 version, but my other computer runs the exact same driver without any problems. The pc thats having the problems isnt hooked to the net atm so its hard to get updates, but if there was another update i would of thought my main computer would be running it.
  15. Step 1: Buy IMAC Step 2: ????? Step 3: PROFIT!!! ....
  16. i always get confused with these sort of things lol, are these just normal globes or are they for xenon ballasts? My r34 came out with xenons, but were taken out during compliance, so will these just slot straight in?
  17. i would only go to watch for the 1st week or two, it will be absolutely packed and you'll be lucky to get 3 passes. Its defiantely a good atmosphere though
  18. cheers for the reply what do you mean by computer managment? i cant find anything along the lines of that in control panel. I've been going into control panel-system-hardware-device manager and it shows the following under the usb tab: 5x root hub 5x Via rev or later USV universial host controller 1x via USB enhanced host controller all show up fine, no conflecting issues and the computer finds no faults Also theres no usb ports being used (mouse and keyboard have there proper slots), i dont mind buy a pci usb slot but i kinda want to know why its doing it haha
  19. This is mine: First and only crash *touches wood* Happened 5yrs ago, shortly after i got my licence and was in brisbane at the time. Was outside my mates house late around 2am ready to go home, and he told me to do a "burnout". Not earning that much coin i told him that i wouldnt waste my tyres but if he had some oil to put on the road i would be keen. Anyway instead of just a small splash he sticks a solid 5L of oil on the ground. I did my skid, everyones happy and i take off. I was driving home be a tool with a mate next to me (he had a lancer, very good runs back in the day lol), and on this main road we top out our cars (stupid speeds). Being the wet season in brisbane the roads were very wet, so i slowed down to the speed limit to take this very open bend at 70kmhr. There was so much oil in my guards that it was still dripping onto my tyres, and with the wet roads, fwd and near on 20yr old suspension i totally understeered. I narrowly missed a light pole, i was still do 70kmhr at the time so it would of been a fatal (not trying to sound cool, but it would of been), then i continue to slide for another solid 60m where hit a bus stop at around 50kmhr, totally ripping the bus stop from its concrete foundations and sent it a solid 20m down the road. Luckly it was 2am and no-one was in there, it would of been an instant death otherwise. Cops, fire and ambos all were at the scene within 5mins since they were just down the road at another accident. They were VERY pissed at me, mainly because the accident down the road was a messy fatality of another young driver. Luckily no one else was on the road, and i was ok with minor wipelash. I learnt my lesson the hardway, i still drive aggressively but in the wet im a total girl, unless im in an industrial estate, never on the open roads, its just not worth it. Anyway the car was a write off, but being a 17yr dumbass, it was my pride and joy and it would of killed me to send it to the junkyard (even though it was worth bugger all) I upgraded all the suspension, with new shocks, springs, swaybars and bushes. Full respray and interior work was done and i slotted a 3SGTE in it with a highflow turbo, spent a stupid amount of time on it and mainly $$$ (all the work bar the seats and paint was done at home) Then it looked like this: Anyway i was lucky enough to actually have a chance to learn my lesson, i'm always hearing other young drivers that never will. So drive WITHIN you limits, dont be a hero, and mainly dont drive a FWD car around a wet corner with oil dripping on your tyres.... not smart
  20. oopps, it runs windows xp and its a amd 64bit chip pc's hdd are ntfs format, the same as the external hdd
  21. Hey everyone, Just wondering if i can bother you fine SAU's with a quick question. I recently just got a cheap 2nd hand PC foy my bedroom (the main pc is getting too full of my bros crap haha) mainly to do uni work, for the net and the odd movie maker clip Anyway i cant get the usb ports to work correctly. I plug something in, i recognises it, then it just locks the pc up, no keyboard no mouse, nothing. I've tried 2 differnt thumb drives, and my external hdd and it all does the same thing. All this stuff works fine on my other pc, and checked driver version for the usb driver and its exactly the same as my other pc (so its not the driver). I've uninstalled it and reinstalled the driver just in case but no good. Im not that good with pc's anymore, so i thought i would see if any of you had any idea what was causing the problem. I had a quick search on the net and it seems that its a pretty common problem and most recommend getting a usb hub that slots into a pci port, but dunno.... I quickly undid the case and it has the main usb ports directly on the motherboard (they are at the back of the case), and i have 2 usb ports for easy access at the front of the case, and there are wires that connect the front bit to the motherboard, but it all looks connected and fine. Some people said that if the device draws too much current it can lock up the pc, but my external hdd doesnt use the usb power (it has a seperate 240v connection), so it can't that either. So should i get a pci port usb hub or is there an reason for it locking up? /essay Thanks for any help Steve
  22. if you copied a simular length to what you have in your car, but just in braided line and the provision for the thermostat that should work well. Most people would have it in a simular location to where yours is. You can definately add me as apart of the group of 3, as soon as 2 other people show interest in the same kit i dont mind putting $80 deposit
