  1. hey mate, from memory it was about a month from payment to me having it in my hands.
  2. i installed set of these in my 34, i'd i must say i'm very impressed. To all those who say its plastic, tacky blah blah, unless you've sat and driven in it you cant really comment. I wasnt expecting a $3000 retrim out of these because at the end of the day i only paid a tad over 600 for the full set delivered to my front door. If anyone has sat in a r34, you'd know that the stock material is shit and gets dirty very easily, and mine was no different so for $600 i thought i refreshed the interior quite nicely. Heres a pic of mine, like i said you cant expect it to be in the same league as a full leather retrim because its obviously not, but for the $$$ i think its very good value. I still havent done the front door inserts, just havent found time yet. Also even though they say its a DIY, its a very very time consuming DIY if you want it to look good.
  3. actually while i think about it, can you do me a massive favor. Can you measure the amount of cc's each combustion chamber holds in your neo head? If you have access to a plastic syringe that has measurement markers on it, you should be able to work it out. You'll probably need to know this so you can get the correct pistons/headgasket to get the best CR, but i'm going to be doing it with my neo head aswell and i've heard that they have a combustion capacity from 51cc to 54cc. Also any reason you went the neo head? were you hoping for vvl?
  4. the basic principle how vct works is the exact same between the r33 and r34. The neo head in the r34 is called a neo because of its reduced emissions, the vvl neo heads on the sr20 are very very different. the r34 neo head does not have the same technology as the neo vvl sr20 heads.
  5. grab your mate, then slap him in the face and scream "wake up!!!" its the best thing you can do for him... if he still buys it, then make sure he insures it then burn it one late night for him, that will be the second best option...
  6. generally retarding the exhaust cam abit gets the gains, but it needs to go on a dyno so you can dial the cam in, you cant just stick it on and guess good luck with it, na setups are definately fun, and for a bit of inspiration, my older bros stock na r33 (expect catback exhaust and CAI) did a 14.6 down the plex, albiet it seems to be a freak.
  7. i was under the impression you just set the rattle gun to this setting called MAX??? I dont know who this max bloke is, but he does them up tight....
  8. thats never an option...
  9. also bump the boost upto a bar for the night, it will help your cause...
  10. my younger bro ran a 13.3 with simular mods to you in a r33 with a 2.0s 60 foot time. If you can drive it hard and launch it well (his tyres were shit so theres no reason why you can better his 60 foot time), theres a good chance for a very low 13 pass. Put slicks on and launch it hard and a high 12 should be on the cards.
  11. the stock cat wont cause a HUGE restriction if its in good nick, but if its 100k+ km old then they can become clogged or colasped and then they cause big problems. Most of the time a hiflow cat is more than enough, but if your short on cash heres what you do.... Dont rip the cat out and just smash the guts out, this will make the car sound like crap, if you look how the cat is on the inside you'll see why. Take the cat out, smash the guts out with a pipe and hammer then take it to a dodgy exhaust shop and get them to press in some pipe the same inlet and outlet diameter of the cat. This way the cat will flow as good as a straight piece of pipe, and most people wont have a clue that its been gutted cause it still looks like a cat. I use to have no cat and only one muffler in my 3SGTE celica and it passed emisson tests... *i dont condone gutting cuts, i run a cat with all my cars now
  12. drugs are bad mmmkay
  13. that fuel light can last upto 100km you know that right? the best way to measure fuel economy is to do it as gtst said, or if you want to do it your way, drive around till it starts cutting out around corners (thats when its really low haha)
  14. that compression test tells the whole story, the motor is a breather. If my 100k km old engine had a 25psi variance between cylinders i would strip it down, having that sort of variance on a new built motor is pretty bad... Pop the pistons out, re hone it and put new rings in and check the clearances then take it from there. Hopefully you're not too unlucky and have to rebore it and stick new pistons in
  15. sorry i couldnt make out any of that lol
  16. there wont be a difference in how boost is held between an atmo and recirculating bov, they both do the exact same thing bar the obvious part where on recirculates back into the intake its normal for a turbo that size to take a second to respool inbetween gear changes. If you dont have a bov at all, that can cause the turbo to "lag" inbetween gears due to compressor surge, so get a nice sized bov thats going to breathe well and that should help. Other than that, theres no real streetable solution, unless you like flat changing, antilag etc etc, its just the joys of having a large turbo on a smallish displacement engine
  17. $418 for geniune nissan belts and water pump?? thats bloody cheap its almost not worth getting you hands dirty more that amount lol
  18. have you clocked up 100k km on the rb30?
  19. when i was in hong kong last year, they were less than a dollar each... I've got a room full of them lol
  20. yeah apparently someone got her yesterday, im just glad it didnt get put down i hate people that buy a puppy on impulse, then when it gets bigger no longer want it, its not the dogs fault. Useless pricks like this shouldnt be able to have a dog in the first place.
  21. shes got a HOME!!! woot woot
  22. just a little tip, if you're doing the major service DEFINATELY change the water pump. You can get away with using a stock rb30 pump (get one from coventrys), you just need to silicon up one hole. I've seen 5 rb25s waterpumps all fail at the magical 140000km mark, and to replace it you have to undo all your hard work, so whilst the belts are off you might as well.
  23. UPDATE the dog has found a new home
  24. oh well, the more coverage, the more chance the dog will get saved
