  1. sweet, thanks again for the quick replys, appricate it I'll try that, but it still doesnt explain why the tps power wouldnt be there. I'm just ging to stick a stock afm so at least that "cancels" out and chance of that being a problem aswell. With the z32 afm, do you definately use the vg30 selection under airflow? Its the option ontop of the VH45 (which i would assume is for a q45 afm)
  2. tps is 0v, the main power feed from the powerfc to the tps goes missing so thats why there is no signal aswell, yet a plug the stock ecu and i'll get a constant 5v feed and my idle postion is .5v. Its doing my head in... On the powerfc, it highlights the tps, so its got a problem with it, even though the actual tps is off a r33 skyline afm is reading 3volts with ignition on but not started, i cant get it running long enough on the powerfc to see anything.
  3. also the q45 throttle body is running a r33 gtst series 1 tps (series 2 are different and dont fit....) ALSO THIS IS IMPORTANT: when you buy powerfc's, you have to tell them if its for a series 1 or 2. I understand that this is just setting you change over. Its definately a series 2 motor and powerfc, but the only r33 skylines i have access to atm are series 1. When i check this in a series 1, will i have to change anything? thanks again
  4. cheers for the replies fellas. unfortunately i cant use the stock throttle body cause he put on a greddy intake plenum and doesnt have a adaptor. Using a multimeter i've set the closed postion of the pts to .5V according to the workshop manual (of course this is only with the stock ecu, the powerfc doesnt do anything) I've made a up a harness that will drop the battery power of 12volts to 5 volts so i'm going to try that and run a direct 5 volts to the throttle body and see if the powerfc likes it, i just hope by me running an external 5volts its not going to fry it. With the airflow meter side of things, his stock one was broken in the halfcut, thats why he has a z32, but on the powerfc theres not fault codes for it and it looks ok. My next step is getting a stock series 2 afm out of my bros car and wire it into his car, then just plug the standard ecu in and see if it runs (i think thats the only reason why it doesnt run smooth now, it would be fine with the tps, just not the z32 afm). If its all sweet if plug the powerfc in, and if it still acts like a piece of shit, then it has to be a faulty powerfc even though its brand new. About 2months ago he sent up all his harness (he lives a while away) and i checked each pinout. He also sent up his powerfc and i put that in my bros car and it worked fine, so i assumed it was fine. I was reading through the powerfc FAQ, and its says that there have been cases were the stock ecu will work but the powerfc wont, purely because of some engine control fuse(if its disconnected the stock ecu will work, not powerfc). Has anyone heard of this before? Keep the posts coming with ideas cheers
  5. Ok the bloke just dropped the car off to me this afternoon and im chasing some opinons. I have check each pinout of the harness from the ecu end to the the sensor plugs themselves and everthing matches up, no breaks in the wire. The ecu is getting all the power it needs (all pinouts measured), and is getting its earth. Now, this is were it gets really weird. On the stock ecu the car will start and run, but since the z32 afm isnt tuned for it it wont rev over 2k rpm, but thats fine. There is tps power (5volts) and signal (.5V on close) and earth. With the powerfc pluged in, it will barely start, and if it does, it dies shortly after. The afm has been changed in the menu so thats fine but the tps voltage magically disappears (hence it running like crap). No constant 5V, no signal, but this only occurs on the powerfc. On the hand controller it comes up highlighted that its a problem in the sensor section and reads 0V. So to all the powerfc wizzes out there, why will the stock ecu send out a tps power but the powerfc wont. Nothing else changes, just the ecu. Any help would be appricated.
  6. the gt-four runs the same box as r33 rb25det and r32-33 gtr, its just the bellhousing that changes so when looking for a clutch you want a push type (the same as a r33 gtst) it should hold the power just as well as a gtr besides the rear diff...
  7. hmm well thats gay... i've got to jack my car up and check this, i thought i read somewhere that all four will spin when your diagnois attessa mines definately a viscous lsd in the rear, but was never sure about the front. looks like i need to invest in a 1 way front diff...
  8. yep just the sump, everything else is identical
  9. i was under the impression they are a viscous lsd both front and back, the same as a gtr ie if you jacked your car up and left it on stands, then put it in gear, all four wheel will turn, hence lsd
  10. have you heard anything about mine?
  11. even though the exhaust is sold pending payment, i had a spare minute today to get a quote star track express wanted $483 to get it from perth to melbourne, so postage is worth more than the exhaust....
  12. after some interest, most poeple wanted pics so here they are: Coil plug: Goes to ignitor harness:
  13. after a huge reponse with the exhaust im going to list it as SOLD PENDING PAYMENT there was quite a few interstate buyers interested and unfortunately with the exhaust being so long it makes it hard to get a quote for postage (aus post wouldnt take it, needs to be a courier). If the buyer falls through, i will post a interestate postage cost sorry for any delay, but with something as large as an exhaust i would much prefer local pickup as its alot less mucking around for me cheers

just on side note, not many people will be willing to hand over their car to someone they dont know for a day maybe look for some for sale and go for a "joy ride", even though i hated when people did that to me lol
  15. the gtr and gtst gearboxs are exactly the same internally and will handle the same amount of abuse. You will actually see a gtst withstand a tad more punishment hp wise purely because there is a fusable link (the rwd) so it will smoke tyres before it will break the box itself, a gtr will just grip and put everything under more strain. I dont see a reason why the stock box wouldnt happy take 500-600rwhp with some decent oil in it. The rb26 on stock turbos at 15psi will be much quicker than the rb25 with stock turbo at 15psi, so you will notice a very nice jump in power. Goodluck with the conversion, you will be baking tyres
  16. Anywhere from 22k-28k, its a buyers market and you'll find out if the price is too much. On a side note, if its too cheap many people think there is something wrong with it and dont want to have a look. The only reason i say this is i have a spare r33 gtst manual which i originally wanted to flog off for 12k, thinking that the price was reasonable, i barely got 2 calls in a month. A mate just sold his for 17k, so i up my price to 16k and i've been getting shitloads of calls and its sold pending the finance going through, weird huh? anyway goodluck with the sale, and those rims are work meisters s2r's
  17. cheers chris I've managed to take out my rear sets tonight and put the covers on. I took my time with the string to make it look nice and im absolutely stoked with the results. I just have to find time to take out my front seats and finish off the door trims and it should look pretty good if i dont say so myself thanks again
  18. I was actually quite suprised with postage cost from aus post, its relatively cheap The plenum will be $45 approx to most parts of nsw, but i assume any eastern state wont be far off(that registered, so it wont go walking...) The Teins will be around $80, they have to be sent in 2 lots though (about $40 each lot) because of the weight restrictions. THe fuel pump and braket will be around the 15-20mark to most nsw states The exhaust cant be sent through aus post, its too big, it wil have to be couried so i'll ring around
  19. i've had alot of interest with the exhaust, tiens and manifold for interstate postage, just to let you guys know that most of these things are big, bulky and heavy for australia post and they do charge quite high. Im going to get a rough price at australia post to send most of this stuff over east so i will let you know but dont expect it to be like 20-30 as for the teins, they are straight off nengun (japan) so what ever tein send out the factory, is the springs these coilovers have. They havent gone through any australian company They came with tein pillowball upper mounts, they arent the stock skyline items as you can see in the photo THIS IS STRAIGHT OFF NENGUN: TEIN has developed advanced technology to design the shell case and stroke to bring out the full potential of your vehicle. 20. just after the cash for the time being cheers
  21. Yep these will slot into any r33 (both turbo and na, series 1 and 2) By japspec, they are the ones that came standard from tein They offer a really confortable ride but still very firm. Its a nice compromise between a drift set up and comfort (allthough if you adjust the damnper setting, which is only a knob and top of the strut, you can make them rock solid) Fully height and dampner adjustable, a great street setup
  22. yeah whats the deal with that???? all my pms are getting filled up with steve boy blah blah blah hahaha whats the go?
