  3. you can get oil pressure switches, (only lights up with no oil pressure), so it wouldnt be hard to t-piece into the oil pressure sensor and have the switch running off that. Then just have that running straight to the led which you would have a igntion power feed to it since the oil pressure switch will work off a negative. Should cost you less than 20bucks for the switch, t-piece and led, cheap insurance i say. I'm going to hook something up very simular but maybe to a buzzer when my car starts making a tad more power
  4. i've heard unconfirmed reports that desiel have contiminated the main 98 tanks, heard this from a mate that is in the know up there but not sure if its 100% accurate
  5. the only thing that regulates temperature is the thermostat, even if you were running massive thermos constantly they shouldnt affect your operating temperature since thats is purely controlled by the thermostat. The only thing the thermos will do is give it greater cooling power to prevent overheating, not operating temperature. My bros r33 reads 88 degrees celcuis from an electric apexi gague whether its the middle of winter and summer, so get a thermo gun (most mechanical workshops will have one) and just get them to give you a quick reading of what the coolant temp is at. If its around the 80-90 degree mark your car is fine and its most likely just a gauge or a sender. Is the thermostat just a standard nissan item? its not a nismo variant that has a cooler opening temperature?
  6. rule 1. ANYTHING to do with water and engines costs alot of money just in maintenence. rule 2. An engine which is constantly reved to the shithouse and thrashed will cost even more People dont cruise around on them, they are constantly wave jumping, doing "donuts" and basically just bouncing off the limiter, and even though they are designed to take punishment (and they do take alot), they are very very high in maintenence. Stay away from the stand up style jetskis imo, they are a pain in the ass to use. The sit down ones are alot more fun and will wave jump very well. Also i wouldnt really recommend buying one for 2500 (assuming you want that with a trailer), thats on the lower end of the market and your going to get one thats done alot of work, and you will end up spending alot of money. If your handy with the tools you can do most of the work yourself, but parts alone are much more in comparison to car parts. My brother and i have a mid 90's seadoo that we got about 7yrs ago which came out with a shitty 650cc, we have since replaced that engine with a 750cc and rebuilt it once and it now needs another (we let it sit too long and it seized). When they are going they are alot of fun, but its definately not a cheap hobbie. If you were going to get one for the 2.5k mark, have at least that amount again in the bank ready to spend if need be good luck
  7. that looks good, should be nice and torquey. It good to see the more extreme conversions still happening. I doubt there are going to be any turbos on the side of that, by looking and the room just some simple headers look to be a stretch, although if they could make the manifold come to the front of the car, you probably could stick one nice big single in front of the engine. What car is this out of??
  8. i knew i should of gone down tonight, i had a feeling something cool was going to happen...
  9. how did the gtr sound? was it quiet like a stocker or did it have a note to it?
  10. i cant believe how worried you guys get with your mods? It must be a hell of alot stricter over east than in wa. As long as everything is secure and doesnt make too much noise AND you know what your talking about so you can show the cops you arent just some retard then most of the time you get away with it. ECU flash wont get you into trouble (and if they try to tell you that, thats when you need to explain how things actually work), if anything the reflash takes fuel away from the tune since they run dirty rich and makes the car MORE emissions friendly. I know of people that have emissions test with no cats whats so ever and they have passed, its all down to the inspector.
  11. just bite the bullet and get the os 3L kit, dont be weak...
  12. thats not a gun... THIS is a gun haha
  13. hahaha im an idiot... i didnt even click on the pics, i just saw a smashed black car and assumed it was his lol ah well, thats makes more sence then
  14. i cant believe your actually laughing about this haha (even though im laughing, but its not my car) you do realise that your car will most likely be written off?? sorry to hear
  15. q45 afms and throttle body's are both bigger than the z32 versions and thus you can pump more power from them On the afm side of things, the only reason why q45's "might" be seen as harder to tune is that although it can flow more and read more air, it can also have difficulties picking up readings in the lower areas. For example, on lower capacity cars (i.e 2L) when crusing theres not always enough airflow going through such a big afm to send the correct signal and can sometimes cause problems. On a 2.5L or 3L, it should be fine. I will be running a q45 on my rb30det
  16. i just have to say one thing.... jesus...
  17. map sensor is fine it doesnt have idle up when cold, so it makes it hard to tune when its dead cold, but with abit of time you can get it so its perfect.
  18. sorry about the late reply re: your pm, heres the two pages of warning lights from my manual
  19. The bosch 040 is a intake pump The bosch 044 is a bigger version than the 040 but is an external type pump The bosch 023 is pretty much the same as the 044 but the intake style (ie it has a open base for the pickup on the pump) Personally i would stay away from walbro and just get a bosch (i have fitted a 023 to my bros car and works a treat), if you want to spend more on a direct replacement then get something along the lines of a nismo pump. A bosch 023 will well and truely get you your 350rwhp
  20. i think he means its at a more consistant temperature then a road car which is probably true cars bone cold, start it, drive 20mins, get hot, cools down, etc etc
  21. good result, perfect street turbo. I used to run a mircotech and i loved it. Cheap to purchase, good tuning pints and map sensor, and like you said it all comes down to the tuner. You get someone that actually knows their stuff and the mircotech will never do you wrong.
  22. what power are you putting out?? what rods are you using? what rod bolts/studs are you using?? pushing big hp on stock rod bolts "can" stretch and lead to big end failures, although oil control problem are common in gtr's as stated A spun bigend on a 20k km built engine driven on the street = something very very wrong
  23. SWEEEEET i've got the money sitting in my account so just let me know when you need it and its yours cheers
  24. did you get my pm?
  25. i've got a 2nd hand one in perfect condtion for $50 (its in the For Sale section aswell) came off a low km import motor, looks like new and the plugs are perfect
