  1. yeah this is true, r33 gtst half cuts are getting pretty cheap 3-4k but you would be looking for at least 5-6k for a neo half cut, and thats if you can get it. It would be cheaper to do a full engine swap if you had a r33, but in a r34 i would say a bolt on would be the cheapest
  2. a 3inch cat would be okay, as long as the rest of the system was no bigger than 2 1/2 inch, theres isnt a need for any larger on a n/a rb. You can get all different sized cats (internally 2 inch, 2 1/2, 3 inch etc) but they are all the same length so they will fit in your current setup
  3. i was under the impression that red/white meant turbo and blue/white meant n/a, well at least thats what every skyline i have seen to date has. And for the record my R34 GT-four has blue/white gt badge
  4. It definately has timing smashed into it, i said that on the first page. From memory the cas is pretty much maxed out so its probably running around 25 degrees of timing at idle lol, which kinda throws the shaved head out the door cause with the extra CR and all that timing its would be pinging its nuts off all day long which isnt the case
  5. yeah its pretty common for the s13 boys to do the 5 stud conversion, mainly to get a broader selection of rims. Its abit of a pain, but you have to change your rotors (the whole hub) and i think from memory you may have to change the rear axles
  6. hahahaha, i'm kinda the opposite, mostly been racing my cars down the strip but with the new gt-four im keen to throw it around a track, even if it does mean i'm just going around in circles....
  7. once again to clear things up, the car ran 123rwhp on the blocked cat, the 1/4 mile run was done with a new cat No slicks were used, i explained what the car has done to it, nothing more nothing less. If anyone lives in WA and wants to verify that it is what i say it is, then they are more than welcome to inspect the car. Im not rogercordia, i dont have a need to make up bullshit
  8. yeah those manual v6 magnas are bloody weapons. Drop the kids off to school reeeeaal quick 14.8, good effort with re-treads, stick nice 225 or 235 on the front and you should get that 60 foot time down to 2.0 and theres your mid 14
  9. Definately not a trigger problem cause its cracked a 14.6 on two seperate nights. It has run mostly high 14 second passes, a few low 15s because of a shitty launch or missed gear etc I knew you guys would mention compliance lol, but i dont think this is the case. You can tell when you see a modded skiz that has been put back to stock to pass complience, but this car looked like new. All the exhaust and suspension etc looked like it had never been touched before, and you can always tell when your undoing something for the first time. I'll try to get a slip with all the details but i think they all went in the bin I already asked, but wats considered a good 60 foot time in one of these?
  10. well not really, cause i'm posting in a n/a section, i started the post saying it was n/a and that it was a gts, so one would assume that its not a gtst (not having a dig at you lol) I totally understand why its hard to beleive, it does my head in aswell, thats also part of the reason why i posted, cause i know that a normal gts shouldnt run the times that this does. As i have said the motor has never been touched by us, including the bottom end and head as far as i know, but the car was bought with 60,000km on the clock so my bro or myself obviously cant account for what happened before this. This car came from the car yard as if it would out of the factory, standard exhaust etc, so one would assume that the motor is stock and left untouched from japan otherwise you would expect the simple mods such as full exhaust, intake etc to have been on the car when it was purchased 8 odd years ago. It doesnt make sense for someone in japan to have spent money on the motor and leave everything else dead stock, even suspension etc was stock. Intake consists of piping running straight from the afm to the front of the car, no pod no nothing so its literally like a vacuum cleaner picking shit up off the road. I've told him that hes crazy, but the car has done near on 100000km with no pod and still goes strong lol The exhaust consists of factory manifold and piping to the cat, where it is 2 1/2 inch mild steel piping, using nothing more than press bent techniques, and it has a cheap 3inch cannon muffler, the whole exhaust cost him less than 250 bucks, and its the best n/a sounding skyline i have heard haha As for the wheels, they are again cheap CAST thai copies, and they are far from light weight forged items. They are only 7inch wide rims, that is why the 245 shouldnt be on there. The tyres are agian just cheap 245s (cant remember the brand) but they arent anything special. Full interior is in the car when racing, thats front and rear seats, sound deadening is still there as is the factory steering wheel. The only thing changed is a short shifter and a new knob Suspension is standard rooted shockies, with king springs superlows allround, with the rear having a coil taking off each king spring. Computer is standard nissan item, with no piggy backs like safc etc connected. Drivetrain is the standard 5 speed rb25de box, same as the r32 rb20det box, which is pretty much missing all syncos. Clutch has been replaced due to age, but only with a stock item. Stock tailshaft, lsd and drive shafts. The reason i was saying STOCK STOCK STOCK before is that the car is literally that. The only other way i can descibe it to you is that the car sits exactly as it would the day it came off the showroom floor expect for what i have mentioned. If there was a secret to it, believe me i would tell everyone, theres nothing like gtst drivers at the drags asking questions like "so what boost you running??" only to answer its n/a then generally the next statement is "Bullshit, pop the hood, its gotta have a turbo"
  11. im not over emphasizing anything, from the start i told you what the car was then questions like "are you sure its not a gtst" pop up as if its something i may of overlooked so i have to repeat myself like i said before i only started this thread to see what times you guys are pulling so i could compare with my bros, not to agrue if his motor is fully built with 12-1 CR.
  12. i'll be seeing him later tonight so ill ask him for a slip, but his trap speed from memory wasnt impressive. Of course theres a logical explanation for things like this, and most of the time its because the good old "run em in hard they go hard". Its known that an engine that has had a decent run in, and not just putted around has better bedding in with rings etc which creates more compression = more power. Whats the average 60 foot time for a manual n/a skiz?
  13. lol okay its only a little stock then... well if you saw in the first post, thats when i first mentioned, and wait for it.... that it was STOCK but the "stockness" has been asked again and again so just to make everything clear i just repeated myself. S.T.O.C.K wooooh woooh
  14. also, if you watch the dyno run, you will see that it only powers to the stock 7000rpm limiter so theres no chance of cams etc
  15. okay, i'll just give you a quick run down with the dyno run cause its not a true indicator of the real power. That dyno is extremely harsh for power readings, when my celica had a stock turbo on it it pulled 205fwhp on that dyno and i pulled a 13.3 down the quarter which didnt really reflect its power, so i went to a different dyno and pulled 267fwhp with the same mods. Now with that in mind, when that dyno run was down the car was having trouble beating my other bros twin cam corolla, but as soon as the cat was fixed he chopped it. So i would expect around 150ish hp on a "normal" dyno. Once again, this car is STOCK STOCK STOCK STOCK STOCK. No ecu upgrades, No cams, the motor has not been touched besides the regular oil changes and timing belt. No lighten flywheel, it has a stock clutch, with stock lsd diff, and no super dooper carbon tailshaft. My bro has owned this car for about 8 years now and bought it from a car yard that imported it direct from japan and it was completely standard (standard intake, exhaust etc). Simple things help to get this time, like he is one very harsh driver, the gearbox crunches every gear in daily driving but he still belts the shit out of it. Fuel light is always on when he races to help save weight, same with the spare tyre and jack etc for the same reason. Theres heaps of little things you can do to help which seems like common sense but i constantly see cars go down with a full tank of fuel and i just shake my head, thats an extra 50kg that could of easily been taken off. The main reason i started this thread was to see what times a stock skyline should pull cause i definately know his is a freak, pure and simple, i just didnt know that he was on average a second quicker than what the benchmark is. It maybe hard to believe, but like i said before it is stock
  16. i've been mucking around with cars for a few years now and i can definately tell you this motor is stock, no "blue printing" no reground cams no aftermarket computer it is completely STOCK besides the mods i listed. And if anyone would know, my bro who has been a mechanic for quite a while now would know. The car pulled 123rwhp and once again youtube will verify this once it has been uploaded woooohooo (you will notice abit of smoke after the pull, good old piston blow-by lol) This was done with a blocked cat, and the cat was replaced before the drags, which would of added around another 10hp i would say
  17. I've installed many a head deck in my day and i have to say that i've never had so much trouble with the ebay poo. 2 of my mates have invested in these dvd head decks only both to be dissappointed. One never worked, and the other mate lasted about 2months before it crapped itself. If 250 bucks was my budjet for a headdeck, i would go out and get an entry level pioneer single din, they fit well, everything works as it should and produce nice clear sound and you really know when you installing a decent brand headdeck when you finally clip everything in place and the headdeck just looks like it came out from factory. I just installed a pioneer 7inch double din touchscreen in my skyline, rrp $2300, got it for $1300 on sale and i've never been happier with it. Bloody great piece of equipment
  18. hahaha no, its a stock gts. No turbo, no nos, no nothing. You can hear it in the video, its got the n/a exhaust tone. There was a guy in a white 33 gtst on the same night running power fc, fmic, full zorst and i think boost around 12psi on the stock turbo and the best he got on the night was a 14.6 aswell hahaha, examples of people who can and cant drive. On a side note, my bro has no mechanical sympathy, hes the type of guy that can just belt a car all day long, years on end and nothing will break lol lucky bastard
  19. i blew up the video on my comp and it looks like the 180sx pulled 13.72, its a bit blurry but thats wat it looks like. It was quicker than my bros car anyhoo
  20. the car has run lots of 14 seconds passes, and has run 14.6 on three seperate occasions, with the quickest being the 14.60 on the video. Theres nothing special about this car mod wise, stock motor, ecu etc etc, the only things changed is the igntion timing, cold air and a catback. I just think it is a freak, every now and then you run into a stock car that does things it shouldnt. So noone else here has cracked a 14s pass on the stock n/a?
  21. i dont have a timeslip but i can do you one better, i've uploaded the footage onto youtube i'll put a link in the next post cause i'm waiting for it to finish "processing" as it says on youtube The car is definately running 245 wide tyres but they barely fit on his rims, the tyre fitter told him that he shouldnt really fit them and if they pop off he wasnt to be held liable lol, thats confidence for ya
  22. Hey guys, just interested in what sort of times most of you n/a owners out there are pulling. My bro has a r33 gts and i just think his is an absolute freak of a skyline (theres a fair bit a driver skill involved, he really knows his car), but there hasnt been a stock n/a skyline that has beaten him and its pretty common for him to knock off stockish s13,s14,15,r32,r33 etc etc. So im keen to see what times in particular stockish r33's are pulling (no nos), but anyother n/a skyline owners that would like to share that would be good reading aswell. So i'll just give you the run down on my bros car and if you can follow a simular format that would make things easy to keep track. thanks Car: R33 Skyline GTS series 1 Transmission: Manual Mods: Cold air, catback 2.5in exhaust, lots of timing Tyres: 245/45 Track: Kwinana Motorplex 1/4 Mile time: 14.6 60foot time: 2.0
