  1. My mate has 4 stock wheels, i think only two have roadworthy tread though. Sure he would be happy to help out for a bottle of Jim Beam Would of course have to double check with him first.
  2. Ive seen a cop going around in an undercover Baby Blue Toyota Camry. Anything is open now.
  3. When I get some spare cash I would love to put on an exhaust that doesnt restrict flow and is actually legal sound wise.
  4. There is a mounted speed camera there when youre coming from the freeway on elgar down towards burwood hwy, just before you cross over whitehorse rd. Gets a lot of people. When I used to live in Rowville, the stretch of Wellington Rd between Stud Rd and Napoleon Rd always used to have a lot of cops. Especially the curves between stud rd and taylors lane. Common please for booze busses. And cops often hide in the bushes on the sides of the road.
  5. Good news for me is that the Bayswater United will be just around the corner from my new place. Nevber tried United fuel before but will give it a try.
  6. Hey, I thought I told you to not pimp me out anymore! And now you're straight up giving me away! I'm hurt.
  7. Ive used in it mine but my car os barely modified and definately not tuned for 100. So while I felt a difference it was minimal. Still a pity.

    Car Vs House

I probably only rack up about 30k's a week in my car. Its usually driving to and from the train station before and after work. Other than taht its only occasionally when I go out. Still wouldnt get rid of my car. Public transport as much as it would still get me along the same trips is largely inconvenient.
  9. Spotted a White R33 gtst on Buwood Hwy around 2:30pm yesterday, however I was in my gf's CRV so I probably wasnt noticed.

    Car Vs House

In the situation where you own your car completely and are looking at buying a house its probably not too bad depending on whether or not the distance you travel in a week is large enough. If you trvel 10 k's in a week, swapping to a corolla may save you $5. Big deal. If you a driving 200k's a week, then the difference is obviously greater. Another thing to take into account is that if you keep the line, will you be able to avoid the temptation to keep spending money on it. EG: Will you be able to keep driving it as is for 10 years or will you not be able to resist putting on a bigger turbo, new set of rims, or whatever else you would like to do to it. If you dont own your line and are still paying it off, then you got a completely different situation on your hands. The repayments are going to make a significant dint in your free cash and paying off a mortage these days isnt cheap. So thats when you need to seriously consider changing cars. It really depends on your ongoing costs of having the car. Is the car going to cost you $400 loan repayment + $200 extra in fuel + $50 extra in insurance + $100 in mods per month? $750 per month? Or is it only going to be $50 extra in fuel + $50 extra in insurance? $100 per month. There is a sizeable difference and depending on your income, what your mortage repayments are going to be, etc, will really be what you should be looking at as to whether or not its a viable to hang on to your line while buying a house.
  11. Pretty annoyed with Optus atm. I have had a phone with them on a $79 cap plan for about 8 months and wanted to upgrade the the iPhone. Happy to pay any outstanding handset payments on my current phone and sign up for a new 24 month contract of the same amount with an iPhone. However they wont let me without charging a cancellation/exit fee for my current plan. It just doesnt make sense that they wouldnt allow me to start a new contract of the same value which would lock me in with them for an even longer period than I currently am. Im not fussed if I dont get the iPhone on launch day or in a month or so. But having to finish out this contract over the next 16 months before getting one is pretty bloody annoying.

  13. Seconded! Uness the RB22 was very heavily modified, the Supra wouldnt need much at all to match its power. The 2JZ engine is awesome

    Car Vs House

Im trying to manage a house and the skyline. Money will be tight as hell but I dont drive it much and the pleasure I get from the car is too much for me to part with. But worst case scenario I will sell it if I cant manage. Having said that ive just started working casually on weekends for extra cash. An option for some but I know alot of people wouldnt bother. The house is going to go up in value. Its an investment. As much as I love my car it will only continue to decrease. The main reason I have not got rid of the car is that I bought it on a load over a long period (7 years). Due to this and the large drop in price of skylines over the last couple of years, im left in a position where even if I sell the car I probably couldnt cover the amount outstanding on the loan still. But shit happens. If you are worried about your social life, just think of now many friends you can hang out with in your own home as compared to your car. And swap the $90 of fuel for a couple slabs of beer
  15. Anyone spot the cops pulling me over on King St last night? Was pretty funny, I turned from Latrobe st onto King st to pick my girlfriend up from work at NAB. Cops followed me and put on the lights after turning the corner and pulled me over right outside my gf's work. She and all her workmates came out front and saw a cop car sitting there with light blazing and started laughing that someone got done... then she saw my car there. Think I embarrased her good and proper. It was only a routine inspection, checking my DL and random breath test. Then on my way, not doing anythign wrong

If you are using a system that uses both gas and fuel you usually loose some power. If you switch to one of the newer systems, those that actually completely replace the petrol system with gas including injectors and everything, can actually produce more power. My friend whom is a mechanic informed hs garage had a day where they were promoting LPG gas around christmas time. The company doing the gas conversion actually had a skyline that they had done a full conversion on and supposedly put out more power than beforehand without any other mods. Meant to be because of the higher octane of gas and the compression you can set.
  17. When I used to work at the GP I always took the monday off because the parties on the sunday night were massive =)
  18. Saw R33GRL parked on station st the other night.
  19. Haha, this is an awesome idea. However, after my 21st, I havent ever been able to drink Vodka or Scotch again =( My body just rejects it instantly.
  20. Spotted a Black S2 R33 parked at Box HIll station yesterday when I was on my way home about 5:45pm

Seriously considering going with a full gas conversion. No petrol, just purely gas. Would cost a lot, but the savings may be worthwhile, and the few extra kw's would be nice.
  22. Saturday at knox city saw heaps of lines. 1 x Jade R33 4 door 1 x White R33 4 door 1 x White R33 GTST 1 x Black R33 GTST 1 x Black R33 GTR Also last night saw R33PER on canterbury rd around 8:30pm and said hello briefly.
  23. Im not too sure if that would affect performance of the card or not without having the catalyst installed. But thanks for the advice, ill try it tonight.
  24. Best mate who is also a mechanic does backyard servicing for me. He also owns a R33 so no issues with him not knowing the car.
  25. So it appears after all this it may just be a conflict between the graphics card and my motherboard. I tested the GC in a spare PC I have and it worked perfectly fine using drivers off the ATI site first try. There are some BIOS updates for my motherboard but they are all in relation to CPU changes, so I doubt they'll work. All I can really try with my existing machine is to use an earlier catalyst version and see if it works. My other option is to make my spare PC my main one. Most parts are transferable but the main difference will be a drop in the CPU. My current machine is a Pentium 4 2.4ghz HT with 800mhz fsb. The spare is an AMD Athlon 1800xp with a 400mhz fsb. RAM, HD's, Optical Drives, Sound card, etc can all be moved across. One issue that im slightly worried about is that when this was my brothers PC it often overheated. Whether thats an issue with the Athlon processor or whether thats just got to do with where he kept it (under the desk in a small area) im not 100% sure. Need to decide if the drop in CPU speed is worth the change in graphic card from a Radeon 9550 128mb to a Radeon x1650 512mb.
