  1. Matt, you forgot to add something to the end..... /end_brag
  2. Congrats on the new job Paul, can I ask what you'll be doing?
  3. Wider tyres always make a nice upgrade. Im using 235's on the front and 265's on the back of my R33
  4. Personally I hate driving in the wet due to its unpredictability. JUst take it as slow as possible, nice and easy. Make sure you have plenty of tread on your tyres.
  5. Sorry to hear that mate. Really sucks. Been in an accident with my car before, never nice. Ive actually been in a situation with my old Mazda 323 too. I was cornering and suddenly the rear kicked out. Now this is a 1986 1.6l automatic front wheel drive. I had no idea what to do and the car slid for a bit (probably not a bad drift) but because I overcorrected, ended up spinning it around the other way when it got traction and spinning out. Facing the opposite direction to traffic in the middle of stud road. Now while I wasn't going slowly, I definately wasnt driving at excessive speeds and definately not taking the turn any faster than I had in the past. The rear just suddenly slid. It left like it slipped on something. Im almost certain there was some oil on the road or something, as for my old car to react that way, it wasn't normal. It gives you one hell of a shock, thats for sure. We just always need to remember that the roads themselves arent always a smooth surface and especially at night on road, it can be impossible to see dangers. Hopefully it is fixed promptly for you. I had the body work done on my R33 by Imperial Finish Body Works on centre rioad in springvale and they were great. My best mate has used them several times. See Murray there. I let just cars choose the mechanic for repairs, and they chose Carrera Motors in Nunawading. Interesting story there, but thats for another time.
  6. Im out, girlfriend is sick, so im on nurse duty
  7. Harvey Norman was good from the practical sense. You got the customers machine is, had to troubleshoot it, hardware or software, perform repairs, liase with suppliers and customers. Was very good experience and teached you a fair bit in regard to workload management, customer relations and hands on troubleshooting.
  8. Friday night driving in the rain down Burwood Hwy. The traffic was doing about 60 in an 80 zone due to the heavy rain. I see an old commodore come speeding up behind me and was sitting on my a$$ probably about 1 meter awya in chose conditions. I could have easily applied my breaks and got a new rear end for my car. I couldnt go any faster due to all 3 lanes travelling slowly. When it sped up, he did also, sitting on my tail at 80k's in those conditions. At that stage I let my speed decline till I got to 60, then brough my speed back up to 80. He then rocketed past me probably close to 100 when the right lane opened up. I consider myself a fairly capable driver, far from an expert, but im always trying to drive better and obey the road laws. If he was sitting on the tail of a mum with kids in the back in those conditions.... It's not enjoyable, and can make the driver being tailgated quite nervous. People need to learn they arent invincible.
  9. ISP Help desk. Or you can try places like Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, etc. I worked as a Harvey Norman comp tech for a year to get some experience.

    My First Dyno

Cant say I have either, they are pretty much a rarity these days. To find one without an exhaust mod or even a pod is damn hard.
  11. Sorry to hear it guys, kinda glad i didnt show. The SSQV would have given me away a mile off. Sucks to hear that femno. And for all non club members, the meets that are properly arranged by the club dont have these issues. Cops literally passed us by on one of the more recent cruises and didn't do anything despite a number of us with lightly and heavily modified cars. The club affiliation actually is a benefit. Its worth signing up.
  12. Give me a good reason to come down tonight. Will AP be there with his arms?
  13. For other suggestions see the EPA thread. With my exhaust I have a flange towards the rear, so I got a custom muffler made up, that chocked it like crazy but it passed. Cost me less than $200 to pass.
  14. Yellow R34 Gtt parked on Latrobe St bout 9:30pm last night. Saw two different white R33 gtst's driving around the city.
  15. Brothers 21st soon so had to buy him a decent present. Money is a bit short, may say it for fuel on the members midnight cruize.
  16. Obviously I didnt know! Damn, its like I said something blasphemous.
  17. Sorry if im wrong but I thought the R32 never came in a VSpec 2 version.
  18. Will try and make it.
  19. He didnt Alan, he has a S1 R33 that has clear plastic letters as opposed to our S2 which has solid letters.
  20. A standard GTST in most senses is a hell of a lot closer to a GTR both parts, looks and performance wise than a Lancer is compared to LanEvo. Thats just my thought. And if you find anyone putting a GTR badge on a gtst, trust me, they'll get laughed at too.
  21. Thank you for the clarification. Word of mouth information always has to be taken with a grain of salt. Ill rectify my post.
  22. Im in! Bec always starts her posts with Beer, and I need not read any further than that to be convinced to come.
  23. Saw a 4 door silver R34 on Lonsdale St about 8am this morning.
  24. As Ash mentioned. You can only have one additional air intake modification. A GTR comes with a FMIC from the factory, so its legal to add pods and have the FMIC. With a GTST it comes with a SMIC from the factory, so if you add a FMIC and Pods, you have two additional air intake mods. But as always, read EPA guidelines and clarify with them. Lots of people drive cars that do not follow the guidelines. Do so at your own risk.
  25. If its noise only they wont look at anything else and you can go to a number of different certified workshops to get it tested. Mine failed on a similar thing and I got a custom exhaust end made that passes legal noise levels. Then they hand you a form with a pass and you mail it off to the EPA. I was lucky I had a flange towards the rear of the exhaust, so they made an addition that would bolt on to that. Mine was done by Noble Park Brake and Clutch. Had a very good experience there, happy to recommend them. I think the custom exhaust piece cost me $140 from memory. Most noise levels testers will only charge you once so the sound test especially if they fix the exhaust for you. Almost anything bar a stock exhaust will fail. So whatever you get made will choke your car and power will disappear, but thats all you can do. If you can buy a whole second hand factory exhaust thats probably ideal.
