  1. Imperial Finish smash repairs did really good work on my car. They are east side though - centre rd, springvale
  2. Im not trying to drag how "fully sick" my car is. And I can easily control the throttle so I dont loose traction when coming out my drive in the wet, I was just agreeing with how easy it was due to conditions and how I was caught by surprise yesterday morning.
  3. Yelling and screaming generally gets you nowhere. But if you go in and be firm on the matter and insist they replace the sump properly, they should replace it being completely their fault. There is an ombudsman for almost every field of trade, this is the kind of issue you take up with them if they dont agree to properly repair it. And generally there are big fines involved if a complaint is lodged through them. However always try sort it out properly with the company first before running to the ombudsman as they will promptly turn you around. I think in this situation they should go about replacing it properly. Another thing to check is if the company is ISO certified (quality control procedures and standards) and get them stripped of their ISO qualification for not following guidlines of quality control properly.
  4. I was almost sideways coming out of my driveway this morning. I turn onto a hill and in the rain its almost impossible to accelerate at a regular speed without loosing traction which makes it a pain to pull out into traffic. Think I scared a lancer just a bit this morning while I was driving to the train station in suddenly in 2nd the rear started sliding out in front of her.
  5. Im off my P's but mine is still around the $1600 mark. Not cheap, however my brother on his P's is around $1.5k for his magna, so I cant complain I spose.
  6. You're looking around the $2k to $3k range regardless if you're a new p plater and not much of a history. Just getting off my P's and with no accident or fines in the last 3 years my insurance for full comp on a R33 gtst was still about $1.5k. Owning a skyline is never cheap =/
  7. Ill keep an eye out next time im cruising around rowville (folks live there), my old hood There is usually several around dandelion dr though.
  8. Was good to go along and put some faces along with forum names. Good to meet you all, was a short meeting but with the heat its expected. And got my calender too!
  9. Sure thing. Will you have a few stickers there tonight?
  10. Im thinking ill make it tonight for the first time. Whats parking like there? Also, you can sign up for membership at meetings correct?
  11. I have to agree that the Sinhalese looks good. I have a Lankan girlfriend and the writing that ive seen on different things she has looks very cool. Nice change from the "standard" japanese or chinese characters people get for tatoos. Nothing against the jap or chinese characters, but its a nice change.
  12. Nah man, backs fugly. Dont do that to the poor thing
  13. My mate has informed me that a work shop here in aust is already working on compliance for the new GTR and should hopefully be able to import them for road use later this year. My mate does tend to be pretty reliable with these things, but we will just have to wait and see, as I know Nissan australia will have something to say about it.
  14. Bugger all chance of getting a pass without changing anything as most skylines are very close to the legal limit with a stock exhaust. I recommend either sourcing a stock exhaust or if you are lucky like me youll have a flange near the end of your exhaust so you can just get a customer muffler made up with a pea shooter size tip to make it quiet enough to pass. Not ideal but its a cheap option.
  15. Im not too sure which day yet, il have to find out what shifts work are giving me, but im in the city, so its easy for me to drop by almost any weeknight. Ill give you a buzz closer to the date if I remember (im pretty forgetful), and we can catch up again. I dare say alot of us will want to be there on the first night to check it out so we could probably arrange a meet of some kind.
  16. Ill definately be showing up. Dont want to miss this. Someone should bring along an SAU sticker and put it on the GTR
  17. He just wants something different to those "ive lost my license" or the "im going to court" posts.
  18. Its a '97 model series 2, so yeah, it does have the dual airbags. Forgot to check the tag last night. And thats probably my misunderstanding about it being behind the rear seat, probably what I was told was that they had to be taken out to change it. Ill PM Dave as well and see what he has, thanks.
  19. Been quoted by Oakleigh Mechanical Repairs. $50 for second hand seatbelt assembly. $20-$30 for installation. Any feedback on these guys, if its good post it here, otherwise send it via PM please. Thanks
  20. Thats fkd. Hope the bastard gets jail time to see if he accepts the offers of sex he gets there and not just loose his job.
  21. Wouldnt have a clue to be honest. Cant check right now either as my car is at home. Does one of the two have a lifetime warranty or something? Would it say what it is on that little tag that hangs off all seatbelts?
  22. Someone needs to put a flood control on you Tom v
  23. Thanks for the quick response. In regard to the mechanism location, thats just what I was told by a mate, so not necessarily a reliable source, however he hasnt been wrong before, so this would be a first. I didnt think to check compliance places. There are a few memebrs on here from compliance workshops from memory, carizma or something? I just need to find one that would do an R33. Ill dig around in a few threads. Thanks.
  24. Last week my gf jumped in the passanger seat of my R33 and when she pulled out the seatbelt it kept coming out and had no tension at all. Now it doesnt retract at all. Im geussing the spring mechanism for the belt is stuffed and I guess you cant open it up (the spring mechanism) to fix it due to safety issues. So basically I need to find a second hand seatbelt for the passanger side of an R33 gtst Series 2. Also, from what ive been told the seat belt mechanism for the passanger side goes behind the back seat, so its probably not something I could do myself (im not very mechanically skilled). So im after a new seatbelt mechanism, and to basically confirm if what I know is correct; that I can't fix the current seatbelt mechanism and how to go about replacing it best. Thanks in advance.
  25. I would advise against a GTR. Buy an R33 GTST or R34 GTT. GTR's are damn expensive to drive and maintain as everyone here has pointed out. Even GTST's arent that cheap. If you are loaning the whole amount for the car, its probably a bad idea to go with an old GTR. A R34 GTT would be a much better option.
