  1. Thats close to me, im still unsure about whether ill make the cruise or not. Ill let you know as soon as I do
  2. ... bad cow pun ...
  3. Should be fine on the way there. On the way back id be more worried.
  4. PM Sent. Been a while since ive seen you guys
  5. Im pretty sure they are the sizes, but ill double check tonight. In the end its partially my fault for not doing my research properly first of all, however sometimes you just rely on businesses as you dont have the knowledge and thats what they do for a job. The guy was a nice bloke in general, even gave my mate and me a beer while we sat and waited for them to be put on. He also gave us a discount cause both my mate and I got rims together. However after hearing this, im pretty annoyed. Last thing I want is for an insurance claim not to go through because of something like this. And im still paying off these rims, I definately cant afford to change them over anytime soon. Plus I love the look of them and the performance/handling difference I got from going to 265's at the rear is awesome.
  6. Bastards. And yes, I remember them mentioning spacer size that they needed to use smaller spacers as the thread wasnt enough, hence the grinding of the control arm.
  7. Mine are 9.5 on the front. 18 x 235. On the back they are 10.5. 18 x 265. Cant remember the spacer size they used. I remember though they had to grind a couple ml out of the control arm too.
  8. I would hate to find out that they are illegal as I have them installed on my car currently. Was informed they were legal where I purchased them and I double checked as I wanted to make sure the rims I purchased were completely legal as I didnt want any troubles. Got them from Dandenong Tyre Factory.
  9. Mine seems to be okay, I think ill test it with a thermometer as if its possible for the aircon to work better than it does, id like to get it done prior to summer. Very useful thread.
  10. I cruise up to Raymond Island with my mates a couple times a year to stay at a holiday house we have there. But if there is an event going on up that way, may prompt us to arrange our next trip as we are both 'line owners.
  11. On a slightly unrelated note my friend and I have been toying with the idea of putting a hole in the spare wheel bay and plugging it with a stopper so that when we go to a BBQ we can take out the spare tyre and turn the boot into an eski. I was just thinking about water in the boot
  12. I feel your pain mate. I lost it once when I was concerntrating. Also lack of experience I think. Only had the car 3 weeks, wasnt used to the power or rear wheel drive. Having bald tyres didnt help either. Lost it and took out a fire hydrant. Im the unofficial cause of stage 3 water restrictions. Lucky for me it was minor damage. I feel really bad about the amount of water lost though, the bloody hydrant was going for an hour. =( PS: car was covered by full comp and is all good now. The sig pick is the side that was hit, front right. As you can see, you cant tell the difference. Now its got nice fat new tyres on it.
  13. Was in Rowville, now in Box Hill. But I have a few mates that are into their Jap/Import cars in rowville. Quite alot in that area.
  14. Awesome, a SE meet point would be good.
  15. Jumper setting I guess. Otherwise just replace the thing, so cheap these days.
  16. Im in rowville too. I have a 33 with a HKS SSQ BOV installed, so I dont have any problem catching up and taking you for a quick spin if you want to hear what its like. Kicks in very early, pretty high pitched sound. PM me if youre interested. PS: ill only be able to check forums while im at work so if you msg me after 5pm today then I wont get it till monday.
  17. That would be awesome, as a cruize like that would probably have some pretty exotic cars. Owning a porsche boxter, going on cruize and being surrounded by 100 skylines that are faster than you PS: I know I contradicted myself by saying porsche boxter and exotic cars. But you get my drift.
  18. Didnt make the last one even though I wanted to as I was really tight on money but will try make this one for sure. Ill confirm closer to the date. Cant wait.

Well, if I can get a standard exhaust cat back, ill probably take that option as its guaranteed to do the job and is a bolt on/off job I believe. Rowville maccas -- It was just unusual R31Nismoid that they came up and were only talking about the BOV and boost tap, said I would get an epa letter to have those parts looked at as they are illegal. Not a single mention of noise. Then when I got the letter it was all about noise. I spoke to one of the testers over the phone and he asked if my reference number had a 'T' or a 'N' at the end of it. Mine had a 'N' so he said it was only exhaust volume being looked at, however if it had a 'T' it would be volume as well as the whole exhaust system including anything that may effect emissions (boost controllers, ecu, etc). The resonator with a flange also sounds like a good idea, given they can add flanges to the existing section of piping they take out or make a new middle piece.

So basically Just change over the cat in the exhaust setup and leave the same canon on? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, just clarifying these things as my knowledge of exhausts is minimal.

So I was parked at my local maccas waiting for my mate to arrive and an undercover cop car pulled up next to me and the officers decided to do an inspection on my car. They found a boost tap and a BOV, which they said were illegal and had top be removed, etc. Got the letter from the EPA saying my vehicle had to be tested for exhaust noise. Somethings the cops hadnt even mentioned that night. Appears they must have filled out the paperwork incorrectly, as when checking with the approved testers, I was informed (based off my reference no) that it was only for exhaust volume and that they wouldnt even look at anything under the bonnet. So I went and got it tested and it failed. 91db sitting at 4200rpm and 94db on the back off (needs to be 90db max). Currently I have a canon style muffler on there which it came with when imported to the best of my knowledge. Obviously I need to make some changes to pass but I want to go for the option that is either 1) least likely to affect power or 2) is easy to swap back (something I can hopefully do myself at home) for when I want to take it down to the track, etc. The exhaust shop recommended a 2.5" resonator, but that would drop performance and would be welded in, so its permanent. Not the ideal route. Another option is to find a second hand stock exhaust for an R33 or maybe even an R32, and use that (im not sure which models would work and even if there is difference between GTST to GTR?). Also whether or not this is easily reversed? A third option I was told, is to get one custom made, something that can easily be swapped but is the more expensive option (and money is tight atm). I really dont know alot about exhaust systems. I believe some come all the way back from the turbo (the dump pipe?) and others are only cat back? I believe my current canon style exhaust is only cat back, so hopefully it can be screwed off. Ideally, id like to be able to simply get under the car, take on off and bolt on the other. Any advice on this situation would be greatly appreciated, and im sure ive made a few mistakes here and there, so if I have please let me know. Also if anyone has a stock exhaust that may do the trick, im willing to buy it (given its in good nick, ie no holes), or possibly even loan it. Ive already had one person say I could loan it, and whomever I take up on the offer, there will be a slab in it for them, or some other arrangement, they wont go empty handed. \ Thanks in advance.
  22. WTB or Lend a stock exhaust for an R33 S2 GTST. Failed an EPA test for noise volume and need to return it back to normal. Need it fairly urgently, anyone that can help would rock. Thanks, DK
  23. My mate got caught speeding with no points left on his license in NSW (he has a vic license). What he did there didnt affect him in vic. Its wierd how these things work.
  24. I like it too. Really grows on you. First heard it 3 months ago or something
