  1. Buying land in the current market is dead money. You won't get the return on the investment that you would have 10 years ago let alone 2 or 3. The market has crashed, house prices are on the decline as are land values. It's been a good ride for investors since the recession of the early 90's, now thats over. The market isn't tipped reach an substantial growth in up to the next 10 years and possibly more. I have a few friends who work in financial planning and real estate, and basically every single one of them has said don't buy now. They reckon that the market will bottom out in around 2 or 3 years, and thats the time to buy, then it will experience very slow growth for the next few years. So if you're looking at an investment property to rent out, by all means do it, but if you plan on selling it for a profit 5 years down the track then don't expect much money back if any. Land is a big no, unless you buy in some of the few remaining areas experiencing growth of note (5-6% or more) but even then, interest rates are higher than that growth. I'm 23, but personally from what I've heard, there is no chance that I'll be looking at buying anything until I'm at least 26-27. You'll get a better return on investment putting your cash in a high interest long term account than buying property in its current market state. Invest in managed funds or low risk shares and bonds, boost your money now until the market bottoms out, then buy something.
  2. Nah mate, wasn't out on the roads last night. I'll have to come out on a cruise sometime soon to meet some members around the area.
  3. I'm from the shire as well, just bought a skyline a week ago. Live in bangor, gf lives at Miranda (spend more time there than at home) Got a stocker r33 charcoal gtst
  4. Edward Lee's cracked me up when I browsed through there like 2 weeks ago before I bought my skyline. Saw a stocker R33 with banged up 400R bar, and 17 inch chromies, imperfections in the paint everywhere, dents on the bonnet, cigarette burns on the seat etc etc. Selling for $16,999 I basically saw the price and chuckled to myself, but the salesmen saw me glance at it. He goes you interested in the car? I'm like not really, and he goes whats wrong with it? I said "I'd replace the front bar, get rid of the wheels and then even still I wouldn't be happy with it. I can get an immaculate R33 without any mods with 44,000 on the clock for $15k up the road", he then started to say well if we match that price and replace the bar get rid of the wheels, fix up the seats etc etc.." Basically making promises he could never keep, even when as far as saying that they'd fix up some panels to get the sale. Shonkiest dealership I've ever been to, would never contemplate buying anything from there. Ended up buying one from Jap-Link, cars were in so much better condition, and they were more than helpful there, putting up the car on hoist so I could check it out for myself (never been to a dealership that has allowed that) etc etc
  5. Hey guys, I've just become a skyline owner. Bought this today, was complied the other week, and hopefully I'll have rego done in the next day or two. As you can see its completely stock, but its a great base to work from, the body barely has a blemish on it and it has 44,000km on it.
