  1. Hi guys and girls, after a brisk search through SAU and reading the coilpacks thread i am going to be sticking with OEM coils in my build, BUT, i am wanting to go to an ignition amplifier such as an HKS Twin Power DLII unit or similar. Now, my query is, what is available on the market these days and what are the costs of purchasing them? I have heard of a few workshops using thier preferred items but not too many wish to disclose any details on them or dont return calls regarding questions about them. So, in summary, i want to know what is available in the ignition amplifier world, what it costs and the ease of installation as i am a hands on kind of guy Cheers, Allan
  2. well, its been a while, work has had a hold of me pretty firmly lately. The top end is assembled, bottom end assembled and its just waiting on a baffle and the sump goes on. The turbo looks a little bit BFOT but hey, i wanted the kick in the nuts of it so thats what i get lol A few quick snaps of it as it site until tomorrow(obviously it will be under wraps so no crap gets in there lol) Bottom end all assembled Frontal view of said donkey Hot side derp Cold side derp and the sneaky crankshaft hiding whats inside.... Sump baffles arrived today so ill be doing an install and review writeup on them tonight Cheers guys and enjoy

  4. go to bunnings and buy a benzo torch and gently warm up the gear and slide it off. Wont take much but Jesus christ you need to be careful doing it as to not heat the crank. They usually come off easy as

  7. look in the tutorials and diy section for a gear install and some pics.
  8. can tell by the outer rotor diametre and the tooth profile. N1 pumps have a wave profile versus the standard profile of the standard pump
  9. you will NOT be dissapointed in the fronius brad, i use one at work a bit, magic machine, just watch the drop off after the initial arc, you can tune it out but some people have trouble getting used to it. Did you get a water-cooled station?

  14. dodge them mate, thats my personal opinion based heavily on my experiences with them. I have gone to a different gearset and the par one sits on the bench as a paperweight, they are garbage. On pulldown it had hairline cracks on the gear faces, poorly cleaned up machine marks(burrs ect) bearing mating surfaces were not in tolerance ect ect and its still waiting to be settled by small claims.
  15. T78-33D Im going to aim for mid to high 400's on pulp, see how we go lol
  16. well, water pump showed up on thursday, still looking for sump baffles though. Starting to look like a complete engine again! For those interested, i found a waterpump locally at REPCO, it was to suit an R31 skyline, but here is the kicker, make sure you get the GMB or REPCO branded pumps. I pulled one to bits and checked everything out, they are exactly the same as the stock one i have, down to the seals and bearings! i vernier'd the pump rotor, same as a stock pump as well, same number of blades, same with and length as well. Ill take a snap or 2 and post it later on when i get off my a$$ as i have some fishing photos to upload as well today
  17. 200+postage for the baffles sound fair? You can purchase a brand new set of tomei baffles from RHD for 161.50 plus postage so you know. Offer is there mate
