atm we have ditched some timing and boost out of it, due to the gearbox dramas and we are making 390 whp. when the tune is given the stick again it will see around 450-470whp. The car is driven on the weekends and does the hillclimbs and friday nights at the drags, when ever i get it working. But like i stated in the previous post, it will be getting built in the coming months/year with either a nitto or BC stroker kit and a top end job to suit. As for the giken box, i know. People swear by them, but would you want a box designed primarily for street use behind something that sees regular hillclimb/khana/test and tune events? Thats the question i asked myself and imo, the answer was no -

well, now looking at a long, drawn out shitfight and having to pay for a piece of equiptment that works. Looking at a hollinger or a modena unit atm. Suggestions, throw em, bear in mind that atm, it is in a sedate tune, i will be getting into the donk and forging and top ending it in the coming months/year -

when we used to do the pre deliveries on the porsches and fezza's they used to come with a battery conditioner/trickle charger in the glovebox. It is recommmended that you use one of these units if you dont use your car for stints greater than 2 weeks at a time, and i dont argue with the prancing horse, or the stuttgart screamers. These cars had unbranded dry cell batteries in them, they looked exactly like the otima's you can buy from your local battery world. Anyway, may or may not help, just a tip

As the scenario goes so far..... I purchased a par 1-2-3 straight cut synchro gearbox nearly 18 months ago, since then it has seen the workshop 7 times, all gearbox out jobs. This workshop happens to be 650kms away, therefor i have to tow the car, on a trailer to these people, drop the car off then drive 600k's back home again, only to have to repeat the process again and again. Now, i thought it was all sorted, until just now. I had not driven the car in nearly 2 months, and this was the first time i have driven it hard since the last gearbox. I give it a good squirt in 2nd coming into the 100 zone, grab third, bank crunch no 3rd gear. I stop, and if i drive very lightly on the throttle i can engage thord, but as soon as u apply any sort of power, it goes bang crunch game over. Now, im at wits end, ive threatened legal action and basically been called an idiot for doing so and am now, once again, stuck with a car that does not function properly. Idead, thoughts? Cheers

Mackay Members! Whats Does Everyone Do For A Job?

Dear OP, go troll somewhere else. You are 17 and you have a high risk work licence.......bullshit. and as for operating an excavator and bobcat, i also call bullshit. Id be surprised if you knew how to prestart one you stuck up little flamin mongrel. Id love for you to come work for me, just so i can sack you. As for earning 60k p.a. with no quals, bullshit. You dont have a bobcat and excavator ticket, simple as that. Now, i WILL go and have a nice life, the life i have worked exceptionally hard for, that i havnt had anything gifted to me or been spoon fed like a little princess. These first years in employment and the first years out in the big bad world define the people and generally set the tone for the attitude of thier working career and life. I can clearly see you will be owning a beat up holden ute and job hopping because everyone you go to thinks you are a booka. Like i said kid, swallow your ego, do the hard yards and live a good life, dont be a shitty nosed little flamin mongrel with the attitude that you are better than everyone else, because people like me will be there your entire life, punishing you everytime you open your stupid trap if you dont. -

Hi, im a pretentious little flamin mongrel and i am looking for work. I will not accept anything less than 140k p.a. and will not do any physical, mental or well, i wont do anything but get regular twitter and fagbook updates during work hours. Because im simply better than you, i also will not go out and look for this job, you will come to me. I have great grades in phys ed and shit grades at everything else at school. I have absolutely no qualifications, but i know more than any of you combined, and then some. Please contact me at imalazylittlespoiltflamin [email protected] Seriously, what the f**k. Is it me or are kids these days getting worse and worse. I regularly sack these little pricks because they dont know how to shut thier traps, they are 17 going on 45 and think they can recite every skill known to humanity from thier f**king iphone. Take some advice kid, loose the act, swallow the ego and go get a real f**king job. -
ahh. we have an outback 3.0R premium with the same engine and 5speed auto as the specB's for a soccermums car. The missus wont let me play with it too much as she has seen what happens, it usually gets out of hand pretty quick. Be careful with the suspension mods as they are very touchy on the alignment side of things. Ive seen alot of cars with larger wheels and a set of springs destroy tyres fast. If you are looking into that area, i suggest a set of adjustable strut tops and a set of camber bolts for the bottoms. Make sure you get a good wheel alignment tech, not some 19 year old dickhead from bob jane that thinks a toe and go is all it will need. They are pretty touchy in the suspension dept so a full 4 wheel alignment after any suspension mod is recommended. Also, look into getting a set of equal length headers as the stocko ones are about as crude as they come. Good luck with it mate

If you multiply alot by 7, subtract 14 and square root the answer and multiply that by 41, that should cover the cost, but not postage

Max Power For R32 Gtr Drivetrain
33GTRV replied to boky's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
without mechanical sympathy, they dont last at factory power levels. With mechanical sympathy and careful shifting ect ect, ive personally seen nicks R with 490whp and its the stock box, been in there for 4 years now -
hey brad. I ran a vortech on a custom bracket, i had no aircon so i used the aircon mounting bracket holes on the top of the block. To get it in i had to run an oil cooler where the radiator was and i ran a vz Gen 3 radiator mounted in the boot. HP figure was an unknown, never had the thing dyno'd. We made up a custon billet adaptor plate to go from the EZ30 to a GC8 wrx 5 speed and ran a MRT centre spool for rwd only. was a very fun piece of gear, used to rip some of the biggest skids ive ever seen and was pretty much death with doors in the wet. We adapted a megasquirt to run it all and i can safely say, ill never ever ever ever ever do that again, was a pita. If you have your sights set on Boosting one of these i have been chatting to a mae of mine and he seems to think u may get away with a S/Charger and low boost, about 6psi. Give the bump sticks a quick regrind and get some headers made with a 2 3/4" exhaust and a rising rate fuel reg and you could run it of a factory computer. If you dont mind me asking, whats it going in? Cheers, Allan

Take some advice from me, i have had ALOT to do with these engines. I had a S/Charged EZ30 in my brumby. The motors themselves respond extremely well to a small cam upgrade and exhaust, and depending what model outback you got it from, a snorkelectomy. As for forcing it, unless you are prepared to throw some serious money at it, dont bother. I had walking cylinder liners, never ending headgasket failure, cracking valve seats ect ect. Keep it N/A, carry out a few simple mods and reap the rewards. PS, the knock sensors in these engines are particularly sensitive, especially the drivers side one. Good luck on your endeavours Cheers, Allan

Do yourself a favour, sell the car, buy a pushbike and ride it into the front of an oncoming bus. The less of you dickheads we have on the road, the better

Im in the middle of making a 12" Sub fit in the wheel well of my brothers GTR and ive made up an MDF floor. i can take a few snaks of ir quickly before we carpet and seal it up if you like as we used bracing on the bottom surface to help stop flexing when he puts things in there and to stop the flex when the sub is at full tilt. You can get the idea by looking at it, just minus the sub

rick, ask Davo, the volvo maaan, he is good mates with brad at dynamix, take out the propshaft and get it sorted in 2wd if you dont want to travel too far. railing that, you can hire the dyno at mopower down here in Gladdy, just dont get them to do the tuning, they are flat out tuning a fcuking lawn mower. I can ask joel if he wants to tune yours while he is doing mine when he comes up if he has the time and we can split the cost of the dyno for the day if you like, just shoot me a PM and ill give you more info. Cheers, Allan
