  1. A lot of people want to lol. It's a pretty popular block. If I can sell pics I might recoup the cost lol!
  2. Happened on the dyno. Was ramping to tune above 6600 when it happened. Looks like we will be doing a half fill and sleeve on a new block.
  3. Stock bore all the way arount the top and all the way down the bores. E85. This all happened at 5950 rpm. Peak torque was at 5800 and peak power was at 6600 and thats as far as it really got.
  4. Power was at 500kw at its peak and peak torque was a touch over 1100ftlb
  5. The cause of failure was core shift. I'll be bands awing the block up to have a look. Sonic was ok pre assembly.
  6. Central qld. People have conflicting information on the job, and I can tell you that an n1 block isn't going to do it, because I'm not doing it again. I'm not keen on forking 10k on a rrr block to be a gunie pig either. As for properly tuned and maintained, don't get much better than a new one. And I still killed it. I know of some companies that have done it, but they aren't too keen on telling the secrets, and that's understandable.
  7. As the title suggests, after destroying 2 cylinders and the deck in an n1 block, I'm looking at a sleeve and grout job on the next engine. I'm chasing REAL WORLD FACTS about the pros and cons. I've searched the subject and it's very inconclusive. I don't need to hear about joe blow making 1000 on a stock block because I don't give a frack, I'm looking for torque and peak torque and lots of timing mean biiiig cylinder pressures. Thanks in advance, and happy new year
  8. Well.......gosh darn. just gosh darn. Big engine failure. Real big. 2 bores cracked and nearly seperated from the deck. Engine comes out in the next week to see what ive really done. N1 block aint as strong as you think. Back to the drawing board I guess
  9. I dont have a dyno sheet, buuuut, I made 447kw at 5850rpm and 1120ftlb at 5670 with the 2.8 and 6466 before we lifted the head. Ill have more results by the end of january subject to a head bieng taken off. Lights the tyres on the dyno. Was teh lulz watching the operator shit himself
  10. Will these fit under stock 33gtr wheels? If so I'm interested
  11. Looking for the best price on a DBS drag series top end gasket set inc headgasket
  12. Dunno yet. Ill get the head off soon and go from there I guess. Bit gutted but we were bieng silly buggers with it. Was asking alot of the turbo and engine. Late 40's in bewst and 25deg of timing.
  13. Well, pretty devo. Looks like I have lifted the head or cracked the block. Got to 860 odd hp and it went and blew the radiator apart. Back to square one. Fingers crossed it's only a lifted head.
  14. Discovered that if you blow the gate hose off it makes over50 pound at 5800rpm.... Shat myself lol. Back to a bit of tuning today sometime.
  15. Got bored this arvo. Put in small spring and ran it on 17 pound. At 5200rpm made 443hp, 6100rpm and 501 hp with wheels pins lol. Gonna be stout as fcuk.
  16. Wish my. Flex joint was 400mm long.....
  17. Scotty. Was the oil restrictor removed? If it was you have almost certainly put the restrictor back in the wrong recess of the chra. There are 4 recesses and only one lines up with the restrictor. If you have it in the wrong one it pushes the chra out of round and you get this bearing flat spot noise and noisy bearing.
  18. Basically for peace of mind all you do is clean up the casting traces and blend the short side and cutter marks. The beauty of forced 4 valve heads.

Interesting you say that. I have about 10 years experience in 800+ton cranes and was knocked back on 3 occasions because I was locally based. If I was based in Brisbane I would have had the jobs. Was odd hearing in the interview that I had perfect references, and was wanted but I had to FIFO and stay in a camp.

Mopower is good for dyno work. Cops can be aszholes if you blatantly make a cnut of yourself. We regularly drive to the dam or yepoon. Plenty of things to see if you know where to look. Benaraby has an off street meet every month on friday nights.
  21. Hey a heat gun and use it to cure the paint. Much better effect if you do
  22. After driving an s15 with a 6.0l with a set of shelf heads and a cam and tune I think you're mad toying with the 25. Never thought I'd say that but man. It works
  23. I have had an alright run with him, was a bit hard to contact him but was sorted in the end. Work was as expected, quality. Pity there have been some negatives. Seemed like a genuine guy
