  1. Hey, i could meet up at the central coast... coming up from SYDNEY.....
  2. If say you had 300kW... and were shifting from 1st to 2nd... the engine is going at ~7000RPM the drive train is going at ~4500 (and your gunning it as you drop the clutch) ... I've had the clutch slip a few times :S Normal driving is fine. Low boost is fine... and if you get the RPMs lined up better its also fine ... Would you expect a $1700 single plate clutch to cope with this? And on the subject of double plate clutches... how's driving up a long steep road in stop-start peak hr traffic? Currently mine's fairly forgiving
  3. Ok Checked out IVA-D300 ... in short... ****ing kicks ass ...getting one. Also checked Clarion... they don't support MP3 on DVD. Now the list looks something like... Alpine IVA-D300 HU Rockford 4CH amp. 12" 400W Sub With a custom Sub box. Quart DSE 6" Speakers Front Alpine 6" Speakers Rear (Cause I already have them) Dampening in front doors. Rockford Cabling.
  4. User Galleries, and Serch User Functions... Also, Put the SAU membership stuff somewhere... took me ages before i could find a DOC which was burried in some thread. Don't go too crazy with the flash or animation. And I like never having logging in.
  5. Ok the reason i'm being really skeptical is that most DVD players will play all the above formats... However alot of them will not play MP3 on DVD even though they can play DVDs and MP3s The MP3 capability is for CD-R/RW ONLY. But yeah... if it does what you say it does then I rekon i might go with that.
  6. Does the alpine play mp3s on a DVD?
  7. Any time... Sunday arvo... maybe 2:00pm Do you have msn? ... or you can email me direct on [email protected]
  8. Yep... i'll listen to what you have to say and will be interested to anything you have to add. Currently my car has 6" alpine speakers in the back.. not sure whats in the front cause i'd have to pull apart the doors for that So there fine. Where are you? (Just noticed ur web address) I could come by Sunday?
  9. Ello, I'm thinking of upgrading the GTR's audio... I want as little as room in the boot or other places taken up as possible. I want sufficent base as that i can listen with pleanty of bass inside the car (I don't have to hear it 3 blocks away). I was thinking something like (All Prices from JB HiFi) Kicker Solo-Baric 10" Sub $420 (I've heard these are space efficent) Kicker Mono Amp for the sub KX 400.1 $440 Kenwood HU DVD 7" Screen $2480 I'm going with kenwood cause its the ONLY A/V HU that can do MP3s on DVDs. If this isn't so tell me other options please ... I ckecked the pioneer in store and it couldn't Also, Considering getting a rear and front camera, the rear should hook up to the AV unit for reversing stuff and the front well that'd be nice too I'd also want to be able to record the video (maybe from both cameras at track days Another space saving option involves a whole lot more work... What if, In the middle of the back seat 2 Speakers were placed similar as in the dodge viper.. I'd want the speakers to be inline with the seat. and not be some ugly box strapped ontop of the seat. It'd have to look good. I know this would be a whole lot more work but if anyone knows any really good custom installers who think there up for the task I'd be interested. If its either a) Totally impracticale B) Insanely expensive (>$5k just for the speaker install) I don't think i'll consider it.
  10. As for the next cruise Track Day anyone???? And as far as windy roads go there's some great ones on the central coast... heaps windy and 80kph unless they've dropped the speed... i mean you might even have to use ur breaks on the corners??? (probably not)... And yeah soz about the technical ****up with the camera... I think i'm getting a new camera... ($%$#%!@ sony $@#@#$ memory stick @#$@#$!!) But yeah... bigger meeting point, and I rekon what we should do is get to somewhere and line up all the cars (actually get some ppl to direct the drivers so we don't have 3m gaps between the cars) and take a few photos... (case of how many skylines can we get in a photo and even colour coordinate it)
  11. Hey, my skyline's still registering a full tank o gas after all of that too (yay for gtr econo )
  12. Hahaha... you should have just pulled over and followed the fuzz But yeah... sweet cruz... n good to meet alot of people =D
  13. One of my brother's cars got stolen from in front of our place..... They forced door locks n ripped off the ignition barrel ... was about 2am or something... Doing this created enough noise to wake us up.... anyway... They took off down our street which kinda looks like this... So they couldn't get to the main road (cause it just don't link up) and it takes over a minute to go round the block (even at high speed)... in that time my dad and brother were in 2 other cars (one was a modern commodore which would way out perform the old Ballina that was stolen)... Anyway at the same time we rang the cops... cops did nothing until we told em that we were chasing the thieves... We kinda lost em cause we were slow getting outta bed n finding the keys etc ... but the cops immediately dispatched a whole lotta cars and that night only a few hrs later the car was recovered having been dumped about 1-2km away... They still managed to do a few k damage to the car
  14. I know where watara maccas is ... but i'll be going past Thornleigh Maccas anyway... so i'll tag along with SAWAKITA if your coming and aren't late

  17. What dealer was it?
  18. Why? There all crap. Most pics are from riced up honda shitboxes.
  19. Dam those GTRs for being so fast...
  20. Theives should have their hands cut off!
  21. a) I think there are good ones and bad ones.. the good ones work alot better B) (If you have a good immobiliser/alarm) If you get your regular idiot who thinks they can break a window and force the ignition barrel to start your car a club lock might save you alot of damage. c) (if you have no alarm) It will slow them down and cause more noise. (and the down point) d) (If you have a good immobiliser/alarm) It gives the impression that you are putting trust in the club lock to secure your car... so people might think all they need to do is bust a window, break your lock, and force the ignition when infact its the immobiliser which is secureing your car... so you end up with more damage but your car is still there.
  22. mmmm yay for 3 point immobiliser
  23. Hey ppl, I rekon i'll be in on this too And put my vote down for one that doesn't involve speed humps or ditches feel free to say hi to me on msn with details if they change [email protected]
