Hey, hust wondering if there is any differences between the series 1 and 2 manual gearbox? Need to find a new one for my series 2 skyline, thought maybe a series 1 will do the same job anyway????

hello all, just purchased my 2nd skyline and will post some pics soon. it has a whining noise in the box, which i have been informed is a common problem but probably not a massive convern. it still changes gears well, although it needs a new throw out bearing. what im wondering, because it has an RB30 bottom end would it be a skyline box or vl turbo box, is there any difference if so how can you tell. and is there any truth in the fact that running ATF in a manual gearbox is better than normal gearbox oil as i have been told.
