What did you weld onto the RB26 front timing cover to make it clear the VCT? Looks very neat! I'm still running the RB25 timing cover on mine until I decide what I do to make the RB26 one fit, but I love the look of yours

Oh yeah do doubt the km's are huge for 12 months. But at half the price of new (and as long as it was in good condition) I'd grab it in a second if it was just a weekend toy that you wouldn't put many km's on.

Tell me about it, the amount of times i've blown MAP sensor lines, fuel pressure regulator lines, wastegate lines...well you get the picture. I have lost count. The fact is in most cases the problem is the simplest of all the choices. I have spent hours trying to fix things not understanding why they wouldn't work and then find simply a loose earth or a disconnected plug or something similar. When people (and funnily enough it always seems to be mechanics.....go figure) start going on wild goose chases blaming this and that it is always the simplest thing never the most complicated. That's what I have found anyway. Glad you sorted it.

If you are really keen to find it. Take off the steering column surrounds to get access to the ignition barrel wires. The turbo timer will be spliced into those wires so you should just be able to trace them back. Or as said, could be a feature of an alarm, my alarm can do it if setup.

Bending a throttle butterfly is possible however the cause of it is usually an intake backfire from igniting fuel inside the plenum chamber or more commonly a nitrous backfire. (This "common" nitrous backfire is the reason Fast and Furious had a big "DANGER TO MANIFOLD" and Dom mentioning "Your lucky you didn't blow the welds on the intake". See, Fast and the Furious is semi factual ) There is a couple of other causes but they are also rare. The fact is a GTST throttle butterfly is thick as f**k and on a stock GTST it would not have happened in the situation the OP described. Not to mention a bent/damaged butterfly would cause issues that would identify it as such. The fact he wasn't running a BOV is completely irrelevent since butterflys usually bend/damage outwards, not inwards. I couldn't be screwed going into details when I first said "He hasn't bent the butterfly" but now I have since this is still being brought up; so there you go.

It hasn't bent the throttle body butterfly on a stock GTST, I will gaurantee that.
