  1. Hmm interesting problem. Mine seems to be the other way around, the aircon isn't working since the Vipec install; just noticed it the other day. I'm going to play around with it now, might just be a blown fuse or something. Strange thing is I can hear the relay under the bonnet click when I turn the aircon on...
  2. Sounds like some one is trying to cover their ass because they didn't understand that torque is a moment of force and therefore the factors you listed are what make up torque. What is easier, looking at a horsepower graph where power climbs as revs climb and knowing that horsepower is a relationship with torque/rpm and being able to see that the fatter the power graph the faster that car will be, or looking at a torque graph that raises quickly and falls quickly and trying to work it out? Sure if you understand the concept of torque graphs it it aint hard to work out, but even an idiot can look at two horsepower graphs and understand what is going on. Also you are making it sound like there is no dyno graph. I agree simpyling qouting a peak power figure is a bit irrelevent unless you know more details about the setup, but in most cases people do know the details or have a dyno graph to look at so it doesn't make it irrelevent at all. If I said my car had a RB30/26 with a HKS T51R on it and on 20psi of boost it was making 240rwkw and showed you a dyno graph, would you say "meh that's irrelevant"? No you wouldn't, because you would know something must be very wrong for it to make such low power.
  3. You can't use those ATI ones for a RB25 right?
  4. So true. It's like been fed SAO biscuits your whole life and then some one giving you a steak lol.
  5. Me to man, me to I was staring at my headlights the other day swearing at them that they were going straight to hell....That's a normal thing to do right?
  6. Hence I couldn't risk doing the formal without mine on haha.
  7. There is 6 screws that hold the covers on. Not sure if you can just unscrew them to get the cover off and leave the whole housing still on the bumper. Last time I did it I just removed the whole housing and then once it was off the car unscrewed the covers. It wasn't hard. I would assume the weave would be 2x2 twill weave as I think that is what all of their products use. I'll see what Shane says. I'm sure the quality will be great as the carbon cooling panel they are sending out next week looks perfect from the photos. BUY LIST 1. PMR33 2. EIRESGAUS 3. NA BEAST 4. DELLJIT 5. SSXRICHO 6. 8. I had a Microtech LT12S in my car for a few years. At the beginning it did its job and I was pretty happy, it wasn't until time passed that it started really pissing me off. Here are a few things that really annoyed me off the top of my head with the worst ones first. I'm sure there are plenty more things. - No live tuning and no ability to save maps on a PC. Always had to have the laptop connected in the car and the car running to do any changes to the current map. This is because the map is saved on the ECU itself and can not be saved externally. With my Vipec I can adjust a whole tune while lying in bed and save multiple files of different maps. Then simply go to the car and load up any map I want. - Can't reset ECU. Say some one completely f**ks with your map and you need to reset it to the base map. Oh sorry, you can't, you have to send it back to Microtech and pay them to do it. Or say some one only changes a couple of things and you need to go back to the way it was. You can't, you have to find what was changed and change it back. - Bullshit fuel consumption. - No knock sensor input. - Smoke screen out the rear of my exhaust every time I went WOT. Now I have been told this is a Microtech thing, something about the injectors opening completely for a split second when you go WOT and you can't really tune it out. Not sure how true this is, but after speaking to a lot of people they all had the same problem and couldn't get rid of it. - No ability to update firmware. Meaning what you buy is what you get. The Vipec constantly has new things added to it and its a simple free download to get new updates. - Serial cable with that gay dongle thing that you have to pay more for instead of a damn USB cable. - Computer software and hand controller is so hard to use and makes it seem like you are using something from the 80s. The Vipec in comparison is so nice and easy to use it's almost too easy. Hmmmm what else....Oh yeah. - Can't run external MAP sensors. Internal one must be upgraded by sending it back to Microtech. - To set up Antilag you have to lose your aircon tuning adjustments. - Got told you can't run a narrowband on one. Not sure how true that was, I tried playing around with that for a bit and couldn't find how to do it. - Next to no outputs for setting stuff up. And all that aint even really from a tuners perspective, I tried learning how to tune with it but it was way to difficult to learn yourself. The Vipec I picked up so quickly and the quicktune is just a godsend. That's all I can think of at the moment, i'm sure there were heaps of other things.
  9. Thank you!
  10. Use hand controller to lock timing - Do not rev the motor! Use timing light to set engine to correct base timing by adjusting the CAS. When timing is set correctly, unlock timing with the hand controller. You have the Microtech manual right? Also the Microtech doesn't use the knock sensors.
  11. Nah, if you have a quick read through that original EOI thread I put up you will see how it all came together. To my knowledge these have not being available in carbon fibre anywhere before. BUY LIST 1. PMR33 2. EIRESGAUS 3. NA BEAST 4. DELLJIT 5. ....... 6. ....... 7. ....... 8. ....... 9. ....... 10. .......
  12. They aren't made yet, hence the group buy
  13. You disagree with my statement on power being related to torque and RPM? Enlighten me please. Bare in mind i'm an Engineer and unless you can prove physics wrong I don't think you will get very far...
  14. Righteo I just sent the final list to Hel and will hopefully transfer everyones money to them tomorrow
  15. Ok, just checking. Didn't want the car to be stock and you not really knowing much about them and trying to push 23psi through the factory twins! I just found your thread, nice car man Have a read of this instruction manual on regarding turning the boost up ( http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...ttach_id=145122 ) but if you are going from 7psi to 23psi I would do it on a dyno just to check everything is fine.
  16. Link G4/Vipec V44, Haltech E11V2 Don't touch the Microtech, you will regret buying it, I did...
  17. Hey guys This originally started out as an idea in this thread ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Eo...S2-t333980.html ) but it is now going ahead so I figured I would make a new thread This will be a group buy for direct carbon fibre replacements of the factory foglight/indicator surrounds as pictured here: And should roughly look something like this once fitted: These are being supplied by PSI Parts and we will need a minimum number of 10 people to start production. Cost will be $119 a pair plus $11 Express post shipping Australia wide. I will keep this group buy open until ten people are gathered. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Please place your names below if you are keen and we can get production started Thanks guys! Phil BUY LIST 1. PMR33 2. EIRESGAUS 3. ....... 4. ....... 5. ....... 6. ....... 7. ....... 8. ....... 9. ....... 10. .......
  18. I'm going to start a group buy thread for these as it is no longer an expression of interest and more people will see it in there. So from now on please post everything in the new thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ca...og-t337956.html
  19. Power is a direct relation to torque and RPM. So yes while the peak kw figure aint that important, in this case it very much is as it's not like the rest of the curve is completely flat to make up for it. It's actually just below 200kw which is even worse.... The OP's power is very low indeed and Ryno's 12PSI GT-RS power is incredibly low once again but i'm assuming it makes 250rwkw on 17psi judging by your signature? Which in that case it is fine, but funny how it makes so little power on 12psi (mine used to make 310-320hp@14psi). Anyway the OP's car obviously has a problem. Either the engine is hurt, the tuner has tuned it extremely safe due to thinking the engine is hurt or something else completely.
  20. What is done to the car? Bigger turbo(s), ECU, injectors, fuel pump etc?
  21. Ummm wasn't really planning to. If there was enough interest down the track I suppose I could. What were you chasing?
  22. Point of this whole episode, ditch the factory ECU
