  1. For the price the ACL stuff is, you might aswell use it. I used it on mine; did the job. In the Nissan manual it says to use gasket sealant onto the head gasket.
  2. Ohh nice you went the K-Sports did you, post pics!
  3. Exactly what I was thinking
  4. Ah ok makes sense. Yeah it probably would be then.
  5. I might do some more ringing around to smaller companies tomorrow first before I start experimenting on it. I just hate being told something can't be done. Hell they can put people on the bloody Moon but you can't cut a circle out of glass? Bullshit, it can be done. So is it hardenered glass? See I thought if it was, it would have started to shatter when I drilled it? The glass places said it was hardened glass, but I don't know much about glass at all so I just took their word on it.
  6. Would that work? Wouldn't it just shatter? I suppose there is one way to find out... I was kind of thinking you were just joking haha.
  7. Looks great man, any chance of posting up better pics of them?
  8. Due to the thickness of the glass and the fact it isn't a straight cut I don't think scoring it with a diamond tipped glass cutter will work. That was the first thing I thought of and after doing a bit of research and speaking to one of the guys in the glass mob it looked as if that method wouldn't work. In videos it looks so easy to cut a flat thin sheet of glass with one of those! I tried man, one place was even an industrial place that cuts glass for a profession and they said it wasn't possible, so I dunno. Maybe they were just to scared to crack it and didn't want to be held responsible I might give the jigsaw a go, ill go buy a blade tomorrow at bunnings and drill a couple more holes so i can fit the jigsaw blade in place. I really want to do this but it is quite difficult indeed!
  9. Hmm interesting, I hadn't thought of that. Could you use that on glass? What about a fine toothed blade for a jigsaw used to cut tiles or something?

  11. They are pretty hard to come by man. Shoot Import Monster a message or start browsing the Yahoo auctions in Japan.
  12. Very impressive! Congrats guys!
  13. Hahaha love the plates! Great pics from Powercruise.
  14. Hey all This is something that is wanted by most Series II owners and something that I wanted since the day I bought the car; clear front indicators. As we all know the indicator is made of orange plastic compared to the clear glass foglight. This means a simple swap over is not possible (refer to pictures). Many people have simply made perspex replacements, but to me it wasn't perfect and bugged me. I wanted both the foglight and indicator to look the same. So a couple of years ago I got my hands on a second pair of housings and wanted to give it a go but very quickly hit a brick wall with not knowing how to go about it and thought it wasn't really possible so I gave up. Well now i've returned to the project and I ain't giving up. Here is what I have so far. I removed the glass lens from my spare set using the oven technique: Now here is where I need some opinions/help; cutting the glass. I went around to a few glass places today and they all said it wasn't possible and didn't want anything to do with it. I aint taking no as an answer. I tried using some glass cutting drill bits to cut into it to see whether it would simply shatter. Turns out it holds together and doesn't break. But my god is it hard to drill into. So what I need to do is cut around the circle lens to get rid of the big chuck of glass behind it. I drilled another hole on this point and it held together. Refer to picture where I need to cut: Once this is cut out, I will simply cut out the plastic orange indicator on the set on my car and use some sort of silicone to attach and seal the glass foglight in place where the indicator was. I know it can be done some how as I have come across these pics which appear to be the same method So any ideas of how to cut that glass? My only option at the moment is to drill 100 holes around the edge and try and snap it off.......this will take a million hours to do and I really think there could be an easier way. Any one got any ideas? A high powered laser I could borrow or something? lol. Cheers Phil
  15. You put not .
  16. UPDATE Bit of news from Rich: These are the Hella projectors that will be used: As for the kits, there will be two options to choose from. Kit 1: Carbon fibre bezel, Glass lens, HELLA Projector low beam, re-designed Parker lights, HELLA adjuster. Kit 2: Carbon fibre bezel, Glass lens, HELLA Projector low beam, re-designed Parker lights, 6000k hid bulbs, HELLA ballasts, HELLA relay, HELLA adjuster. The LED parker/indicator design is going to be the tricky part to create something unique that look aggressive. If any one has any designs/photoshops that they think will look good chuck them up. Here's something that I quickly did up in Paint.
  17. Hey guys Since the braided brake line group buy is coming to an end I'll start the braided clutch line group buy for the people that were interested. Kits are available for most vehicles so it doesn't just have to be a Skyline. These kits cost anywhere from $70 - $90 in Aus. If we can get five (5) or more people the cost will be $49 Delivered with Express Post Australia wide. Some information from HEL's website: http://www.helcarkits.co.uk/ Your clutch actuation will feel smoother and stronger and that ‘spongy’ feeling will be eliminated, making engaging/disengaging your clutch more positive and responsive. When you buy HEL Clutch Lines, they will be: • High quality, 100% stainless steel, non-corroding braided clutch hoses. • FMVSS-106, ADR, LTSA, DOT and TUV approved. • So reliable that they're used in many high performance, racing and custom cars. • Included with a fitting kit if needed, HEL stickers and a lifetime warranty as standard. Once again the kits will be clear PVC unless you really want a different colour. These lines will however not really be visible so I don't think it really matters what colour they are but each to their own. I will keep the group buy opened until Friday the 17th of September. However if numbers do get quite large I will end it sooner, just keep an eye out. Once the people are gathered I will send every one my bank account details and will require payment by one week. The list will then get sent to Hel and once the lines are ready to be shipped the money shall be transferred. The kits will be sent to me via Fedex and will take about one week to get to me. I will then send them to every ones address with Australia Express Overnight post and will also PM you the tracking number. Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers Phil PURCHASE LIST 1. PMR33 - R33 GTST 2. ………… 3. ………… 4. ………… 5. …………
  18. I sent the guys an email with a link to this thread so they can read through every ones suggestions. I also sent some pics of S3 GTR headlights to work off as a basis.
  19. I'll give PSI parts a message later on in the week to see where we need to start, they are no doubt busy with their own projects so will give them some time.
  20. I am hoping they will look better
  21. They may get to me by Friday this week, if not early next week. Then every one will receive them over night. So it should be either end of this week or early next week
  22. Yeah we will have to send our headlights to them and they do the modifications and send them back. I'm in the same situation man, my drivers side headlight is screwed so will have to buy one to replace it prior to doing this.
  23. Wouldn't be more than $100 I would say, it's a pretty easy job. Then just a wheel alignment cost after that. Honestly do it yourself man, it is so easy to do.
  24. If you just mean the actual fitting that goes into the caliper, then yes the thread/fitting is the same. What are you trying to do? Have a look in the DIY thread for my tutorial on how to install braided brake lines on a GTST. There is plenty of photos of the stock setup and the braided brakes lines getting put on. Hopefully the photos answer any questions you may have.
