  1. Very good head design will be the key and the bottom end should be built for very high comp. Given that the fuel you can use, that shouldn't be to much of a concern.
  2. Nearly half the payments are through, keep them coming guys.
  3. Lol I had some estimates to back up my claims From a bit of quick math with a Nissan Skyline 5th gear ratio of 0.75 and a final drive ratio of 4.111 and a common set of tyres such as 255/35/18 used, you would need approximately 8000rpm to hit 300km/h. 7500rpm would only give around 288km/h. Where as a R34 GTR on same tyres revving to 8000rpm would hit around 340km/h due to its 6th gear ratio of 0.79 and final drive ratio of 3.55:1. However this is only theoretical
  4. Pfft, trip to do some grocery shopping, right?
  5. Enjoy http://www.spinto.com.au/
  6. I mentioned to them getting the headlights modified with modern projectors (or to what ever people wanted) and I also mentioned the possibility of getting new lenses done in plastic or glass. They do gorgeous work with Supra headlights in new plastic or glass lenses. I think it would really depend on how many people would be keen. If 50 people said "I want new plastic/glass lenses" then i'm sure they would look into manufacturing them. We will have to wait and see I suppose.
  7. Ahh nice find. I sent them a link to this thread so they will see that. Worse comes to worse I will buy another second hand set and send them my current ones to work on as my current ones aren't the best condition. Very excited about this guys
  8. Not sure about the indicator thing, I think he ment the parkers on the side. I just sent him a general photo. No criteria as of yet, I said we could all design and agree on something. We could do something multipurpose on the side that could be an indicator or a parker depending on what people wanted.
  9. Righteo got some good news from the boys in Aus So hopefully there will be something available for us soon!! Finally!!
  10. Well I sent off an email to one of the manufacturers so I'll see what they say. Maybe if I could get a buy price on say 5, i'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult to get four other people keen.
  11. Or we could do something completely different and use a single bi-xenon projector
  12. Ah ok right, I forgot some people do that. I was never game to do that to mine. Now idea how you manage to do it though without mucking something up.
  13. Two hours?! How? I've had mine in and out half a dozen times and no way could I do it in two hours It aint really a proper/improper way, probably a bad choice of word. Some people can take the harmonic balancer off without taking the radiator out. I use a puller so I have to take the radiator out which obviously adds some more time putting it in and out and bleeding it.
  14. Are you sure? Because most modern cars have dual projectors
  15. Wow up here workshops would want about $500+ to install. It's a fairly lengthy job if done the proper way.
  16. Righteo guys I have shot off some e-mails so we will see what they say
  17. Interesting, havn't heard of them; there's another possibility than. Look obviously the numbers are there. I would rather pay $1000 for something unique with modern projectors/HID's/LED's etc than $1000-$1500 for a factory new set. F**k it, I'll start looking into it this week and see what I can come up with. I gotta look into the carbon fibre indictor/foglight surrounds anyway, I suppose one more thing won't hurt lol.
  18. If people were serious about this I could organise something as I have looked into it quite a bit. There is one mob in Australia that I know of and the two main guys in the US that I posted above. The main problem I see with doing it, is sending all the headlights to them in the US with freight charges. The actual cost of them doing it to say 5-10 kits isn't actually that much for dual projectors. So it may be easier to do them in Aus, however I don't know how much customising they can do compared to the US. I ideally would want to put a set of headlights in the oven to remove the plastic. Send the plastic to get moulds done for brand new covers that are perfectly clear and don't go yellow. Then send them all of our headlights to get dual projectors put in with a carbon fibre backing instead of the silver and maybe a couple of small LED's for parkers instead of the gay side ones. For people like myself that want to shave off the side indicators, some small LED's could be added to the side as indicators aswell.
  19. Yep it would be a full replacement of the stock one. Unmount the old one (6 screws from memory) and mount the new one It reminds me of a kind of FG FPV look:
  20. Hey guys There's a couple of things that I have always wanted to do to my car exterior wise dating back a couple of years now but never got around to doing it, didn't have the spare cash, wasn't sure how possible it would be or just generally couldn't be f**ked doing it. I however wanted to do the whole thing at the same time which made it hard to achieve. Anyway long story short, one of those things I have been thinking about is wanting the SII Foglight/Indicator surround in carbon fibre to break up the factory front bumper a bit. I really like the SII front but unfortunately since obviously every SII has one they look a bit "normal". I'm always keen on ideas to make the car look a little unique but not something over the top. I also love carbon fibre so this is where the combination took place. I know of a manufacturer or two that may be keen on making them in carbon fibre, but the cost of making the mould and the actual parts would be quite a bit, therefore a larger quantity would have to be ordered to make it worthwhile in price for me/us and to the manufacturer's time. My main question is, if I organised the whole thing, would people be interested in getting in on a group buy for carbon fibre Series II Foglight/Indicator surrounds? I have no idea on pricing as of yet or the quanitity that would be needed, but if there is a bit of interest I will find out! Obviously the more quanitity ordered, the cheaper the price. If there is no interest than I'll probably have to scrap the idea. So here is a quick dodgy Paint edit of what it might look like (If you make fun of my paint skills i'll kill you!). Note I have a couple of things edited on my car including shaved side indicators and front clear indicators. This is what I would want to do to mine at the same time. Anyway give me some feedback/interest whether you think you might be interested in purchasing something like this, if you think it looks horrible or any general input. PS: If these are all ready available somewhere let me know because I've never seen them and I looked everywhere! In which case this whole thread is pointless Cheers guys Phil
  21. Quick UPDATE! A few nights ago I sent Hel a list of 3/4 of the lines for the group buy, they are made and ready to ship! I just sent the list of the remainder of the lines which will be completed in a few days. So the sooner every one pays for the lines, the sooner they get sent
  22. Honestly i'm really hesitant to give a turn around time given the last group buy delays lol. It takes a few days for them to reach Australia and then over night for me to send them. So once they are completed it would be a matter of a week. It really depends on how long it takes them to complete. If everything goes smoothly it should not be longer than 2-3 weeks... Like I said, you have to bare with me on the turn around times Also all the PM's with my bank account details have been sent. If for some reason you did not get a PM let me know ASAP. Please reply with your full name and delivery address. I will send the list of brake lines to Hel later on tonight. Thanks Phil
  23. Yeah that would be a cleaner way of doint it You are correct about the master cylinder stopper and it is something I might get one day. The thing with most R33's I have found however is the softness in the pedal is actually prior to the master cylinder moving what so ever. It seems to be the travel between the piston moving inside the brake booster into the master cylinder. Not sure if 100% that is where the "slack" seems to come from, but every R33 i've driven they seem to have 5cm or so of play where the pedal hasn't engaged the brakes even the slightest. My friends brakes are so much softer than mine with the pedal travel being half way down before you feel the brakes engage!
  24. If you have a look at the photos of the GTST,GTR,GTT lines I posted in the first group buy thread you will see that they are very similar. The GTT lines and GTST lines are pretty much the same size with the only difference being the front lines had the 90 degree fitting. The problem is I can't give you an exact 100% answer. No one I spoke to knows much about Stageas and I have never worked on one. Have a look at my DIY install and compare it to the Stagea setup. You should be able to work it if the GTT/GTST kit will fit, I really don't see Nissan making the Stagea lines any different to the GTST/GTT. You are more than welcome to buy a set and try and make them fit. I just don't want to say "Yep they will fit" and then be wrong.
