  1. 2002?! Wow. Definetely didn't seem to kick off then.
  2. Shit ay, thats different, never seen something like that before. Amazing what they can make "adjustable" via remote nowadays.
  3. Lol first of all I don't actually know him. And the dude is a multi-millionare and owns like 20 (well probably not anymore since have of them appear to be for sale) collectable Monaro's. Think of it this way. If you had a bullshit amount of money, had everything you wanted in life but enjoyed collecting Skylines (felt like an appropriate car to choose given this website), suddenly Nismo brings out the Z tune but cancels it and only makes 1 model available to the public, why not pay a bullshit amount of money so you can own a one off car that you love, even though your mates can't believe you paid $900k for a Datsun. Every one is different and every one is in a different situation, $900k might be nothing to him but to you and me seems ridiculous
  4. Cooling ambient air with ambient air while causing a huge restriction, nice.
  5. Yeah bit of a difference between the two setups.
  6. That doesn't sound any different to a Skyline/GTR
  7. It was ment to be the closest thing to a V8 supercar for the road. Holden was ment to sell them for around $250,000 each and they had buyers allready lined up for all the cars. They then pulled the plug and refunded all the deposits because they realised that they couldn't build them that cheap as it was costing $500,000 to build each car. Therefore only two remained, the original one Holden showed people to promote the car (the one in my first link I showed) and the other one which is this one at pickles. My Dads Monaro is heavily modified in every aspect, braking, power, handling etc and the thing is absolutely unreal to drive so I can only imagine what something like the HRT 427 would be.
  8. Well shit there you go. Never realised that the two cars were different. Kind of sucks that for $920,000 there is so many things missing on that car. The trumpet carbon fibre manifold is a work of art on the other one. Wonder how much it will sell for....
  9. F**k im an idiot! After looking over all the photos it is a replica Key points: Engine bay - That aint the C5R 7.0L with a carbon fibre trumpet manifold not to mention all the other differences (strut brace, throttle body, coolant overflow bottle, firewall heat insulation etc etc) Registration - Can't be registered but it says it is Seats - No red inserts on the seats Fuel cap - not the silver aluminium one And a bunch of other minor differences. Very strange that they haven't written "REPLICA" or something anywhere. Well that settles that, im off to bed.
  10. Lol I doubt Holden would be selling their only proof of ever building one (assuming they don't have one hidden some where that no one knows about). It's most likely Chooka's or something, I dunno. Or it could be a very good replica.
  11. Yep. Most expensive car sold in Australian history. $920,000 if you want an exact figure. http://www.caradvice.com.au/11677/australi...ar-the-hrt-427/ Hence what the f**k is one doing on pickles auction site. It is either the one Holden owns (which the said they would never sell) or Chooka in Cairns is selling his.
  12. What the hell wait up. I thought there was only two of them built, one of them is with Holden and the other was bought by old mate in Cairns for $900k. So which one is that?
  13. Thats very good power out of a 2530 on 15psi. Did it have more left in it on more boost?
  14. I'm not, however remember that it isn't to hard to have a setup that can make more power and be more responsive than the stock turbo setup is. Just because the stock turbo is small, doesn't mean that is is the most responsive and has the best low down power possible, because that simply aint the case. But yeah you are right, he probably did mean out of corners on a bit of a straight or something because out on the street driving along and putting your foot down, no way in hell.
  15. Good old P plater's thinking they are to awesome for the turbo restriction laws. I hope you never injure any one in the car that is banned for you or mummy and daddy will be paying lawyer fees for the rest of their lives.
  16. So your stock turbo 200rwkw car beats and pulls away from 300rwkw cars in a drag race?
  17. Not sure what you mean by "removed". But they are the looms for your injectors, sensors and a bunch of other shit. Just follow some of the wires back and you will see where they go.
  18. Yeah i know how an airflow metre works I know im splitting hairs, but you said "The AFM measures flow X temperature X pressure all at once", technically it doesn't do all that as it cant distinguish between them, its all just one thing as you said, the rate of cooling from the airflow.
  19. As far as I am aware a skyline AFM (and every AFM i've ever dealt with) only measures the amount of air passing through it in kg/h, doesn't have anything to do with temperature or pressure.
  20. Yep 300HP is nothing nowadays, toasters now come with that kind of power, you will want more very quickly.
  21. Plazmaman bolts the stock one on. I'm still running the stock throttle on mine.
  22. Why did this thread get reopened? I thought it got locked
  23. Bloody HUGE claim of genuine 37,xxxkm for a 17 year old car, thats 2200km a year every year
  24. Are you saying 20rwkw? That's a big jump from 13psi to 16psi on the stock turbo man. Your talking around 30-35HP at the engine on something that is allready pushing at its limit. Must have been a freak of an engine/turbo or something.
