  1. Nope old Top Gear before Tiff started his own show
  2. Go to any Autobarn store...
  3. Yeah ment to be in March, got released in Japan last month.
  4. Unoriginal? A engine that was never ment to be, that people thought might work together and had to modify to make work and created a fantastic engine is more unoriginal than a factory RB20 that you get in ever R32 GTST?
  5. Damn they are some awesome pics!!
  6. It's worth the value some one is willing to pay for it. Unfortunately i don't think it's one of those things you can put a price on since they aren't really for sale. Say you owned one, you might put $5000 on it and no one would buy it cause it doesn't mean anything to them but then some one that is a collector or something might came along and offer you a much higher sum since it is something they want to own.
  7. Good find, havn't seen that one before
  8. The turbo sounds to be in good condition if the seller is telling the truth, for $100 worth the risk. Yes you will need a T3 exhaust gasket that goes between the manifold and the turbo. Your dump pipe gasket might be fine if it is a metal one, however replace it anyway since it is all apart and the gasket doesn't cost that much. You may need some washers, bolts or nuts if some need to be replaced. Good to hear that you want to do it yourself, it's the best way to learn and you will learn a lot from doing this. Just follow the instructions on some of the threads on SAU and if you have any questions while doing something ask some one to make sure you don't have to pull it all off again. There isn't much that can go wrong so go for it.
  9. Yep that is missfire. It means the spark can not ingnite the mixture in the cylinder due to a poor spark, usually caused by fouled plugs, too big of a gap or a weak ignition system. Change the plugs and see if it fixes it. Most likely it will, if not than you will most likely have to start looking at coil packs. What spark plugs are you putting into it?
  10. Anywhere from $1000-$2000 depending where you get it from and what parts are included with it ie. turbo, aircon, power steering, harness etc.
  11. Straight swap, you will just need the turbo elbow with the turbo. Everything else will bolt straight on. If the turbo is fine and its only the actuator than that is a good upgrade for $100 assuming you can swap the turbo yourself. To put it into perspective, i sold my stock turbo for $250.
  12. What do you mean, when it gets to 5500rpm it doesn't want to go no furthur? It physically stops revving at that rpm or it continues to rev but slower? Also you say it sounds like its "detting", im assuming you mean detonation however it won't be detonation, few people actually know what detonation sounds like and if you can audibly hear it than it is too late. However with your modifcations on a stock ECU it will be running rich so the chances of it detonating are slim. I'm going to assume that you are hearing the engine missfire after 5500rpm which is causing it to not want to rev past 5500rpm and causing it to lose all power and drive like crap. What spark plugs are in the car and when did you last change them? You seem to have a common skyline missfire issue. Start searching for "missfire" "coilpacks" "spark plugs" and you will see how common it is.
  13. When you talk about "ceramic shit replaced" then you are essentially talking about a highfow with steel wheels, so yes, with a highflow stock turbo you can see that power.
  14. 607 US HP
  15. $2.50? Are we talking about the same gasket here? He has blown the intake manifold gasket, ie the one from the runners to the head?
  16. It's a fairly big job if you don't know what you are doing. Whole intake side has to come off.
  17. Ahh fair enough, cheers man.
  18. What's the go with that? Never seen that personally.
  19. What the f**k
  20. I was thinking the VCT could be the issue aswell but it seems to be ok up until about 3500rpm, i would expect with the VCT not working at all that there would be a substantial power drop below 3500 aswell. Do EMS ecu's control VCT?
  21. Ok first of all you are right, that midrange for a GCG highflow is shit house, so you are correct that you need to find what is wrong. Boost is coming on and holding fairly well, so it aint a boost/wastegate issue. The thorttle aint the issue at all so don't worry about that. And the pod sucking in hot ait also aint the problem so don't worry about that. Have you ever had the timing belt off and replaced? If so are you sure the cams are dialled in correctly? What piping do you have from the pod filter to the turbo? It aint sucking shut is it?
  22. Most aftermarket ECU's have a soft cut limiter and than a hard cut limiter to soften the blow a bit. I have mine set to 7000 for soft and then 7300 for hard cut i think. I normally shift at 7000 or just before. Used to have it set to 8000 after the head got built to give it a go, but didn't see the point due to the turbo not making more power that high up in my application.
  23. Are you talking about the GTRS? Surely you don't find it to be laggy? It would be interesting to see how the GTRS would go on the 3L, no doubt the .63 exhaust housing would choke it up something fierce and would max out probably around 5500-6000rpm. Still it would be interesting to see the low down power and drivability. If i do the 3.0L one day ill keep the GTRS on there to see what it does, but no doubt it wouldn't stay on there for long.
  24. Your GTRS makes power past 7000rpm? Mine doesn't You got a dyno graph? EDIT: Don't worry just found your dyno graph
