  1. Sure is http://science.howstuffworks.com/liquid-body-armor.htm pretty sure i saw a discovery channel doco on how it works, amazing shit.
  2. Yeah, becomes a solid at like -40 degrees or thereabouts. Not 100% sure if it is the only metal thats a solid at room temp, but it's the only one i can think of. Here's something that i thought of that a lot of people might not have seen while on the topic, i got shown it at uni. Its's a non-newtonian fluid that has different values of viscosity depending on what type of load is appled to it (shear stress and shear strain). In lamans terms it appears to be a liquid however when hit with a force on an area behaves as a solid. Watch Once u've watched that and understand how it works watch this one, pretty freaky.
  3. Actually my bad Mercury is the most dense at 13500g/L.
  4. Vehicle petroleum is less than most crude oil i believe, around the 700-750g/L. Natural petroleum is less dense, low 700's. Pure water is actually fairly heavy for a "natural" fluid. Theres only a handful that go over 1000g/L, citric acid is actually 1.5 times heavier then water. One of the heaviest (maybe the heaviest? cant remember now) is Iodine at nearly 5000g/L.
  5. Haha yeah Engineering at Uni, chemistry always seemed to interest me.
  6. Yep another good example is freezing water in a glass container shatters the glass due to the expansion. And yep very true about the life factor. Water is quite an amazing thing.
  7. 10W40 for Summer (300V Chrono), 5W40 (300V Power) for Winter
  8. Very nice rare car you got there. I just really don't like how high they made their rear spoilers
  9. Get a series II, all the little things add up and the price difference isn't that much more. Since they are later year models you'll find most are in better condition and less km's.
  10. +1 build me some and send them to me and i shall pay you Very nice car buddy, im currently reading your thread, love it. EDIT: Hahaha you put in HID reverse lights! Now i've seen everything!
  11. I need to hear urs on gate pedro Screamer spec?
  12. Water has a density of 998g/L. Most fluids are less than this like crude oils. Hence when an oil rig has a big spill and catches on fire the oil burns on top of the water due to it being lighter than water. Interesting fact about water, it is one of the only sustances that expands when it is cooled and decreases in density. Hence why ice cubes and ice bergs float. If water didn't have these stange properties there would be no ice rinks on frozen lakes and no ice bergs. Nearly all substances contract when cooled and become more dense Quick little chemisty lesson for ya
  13. So once you unbolt it the sandwich plate can attach directly onto the block? I havn't actually looked into it yet but if your right that makes things a hell of a lot easier
  14. Im interested in this aswell as ill be adding an oil cooler shortly.
  15. Yep definetely agree. Its the way it drives that differs, not what a peak dyno figure says. So much more power down low where you need it the most.
  16. Long story with the cams lol. I thought the HKS ones were f**ked so i sold them off and got Poncams. Turned out it wasn't the cams which were the problem and the new owner of the HKS cams got good results from them haha.
  17. Nope, pretty sure he is exactly what we all think he is. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bu...on-t287422.html Read that thread of his and tell me you don't want to kick him in the side of the head for every time he says bro and thinks he is part of the Cribs. Without risking getting banned for swearing and expressing what i think about people like him, ill just leave it at that.
  18. 256's aren't really there for peak power. I didn't gain much peak power with mine (plus did the headwork), however i gained 30-40rwkw nearly throughout my whole revrange which for a street car makes a hell of a lot of difference. My old thread is kicking around somewhere if you want to look for it.
  19. Your ECU supports VCT, ive got a LT12S plug and play. Have you got a hand controller? If so go to screen 29 (Aux options) and there is an AUX RPM ON and a AUX RPM OFF. If you have a plug and play unit it will allready be set and running the VCT. Regards to cams, the HKS 256 cam allows you to run the VCT, as does the Tomei Poncam. I have had both.
  20. WD40, a set of good pliers/shifter/something similar and then a hell of a lot of elbow grease. Twist them as much as you can to loosen them up and start pulling. It aint the easiest thing, but you'll get there. I just did my RB26 cover fittings.
  21. Ahh yep Vegas. While your there check out the Reventon and Veyron in one of the complex's there
  22. Yeah we saw that insurance bond thing aswell, makes it very difficult to do in Aus. Best place to do it is Vegas, fairly cheap to rent for a few hours or a day, and the insurance is realistic, just a credit card with a few grand accessible. My mate done it there, drove a 360 and a gallardo i think it was.
  23. $3000-$5000 to rent? Those were the prices we found while looking a little while back.
  24. Hahahahaha!!
