  1. I'm in a similar situation, thinking of whether to take the aircon out or not. My main reason is to try and get as much airflow to the radiator as possible because out on track the day heat up here is a killer.
  2. Nooo coil cover is mine You do 9's, you don't need a coil cover
  3. Well there you go, you got buyers for all three different parts. So you keen to split?
  4. Yeah fair enough. Judging by the pics it is made to fit a 52mm gauge? Or is it a 60mm?
  5. FFS it's cam covers, not ROCKET COVERS, or ROCKER COVERS (RB's don't have rockers).
  6. Yep straight fit, all RB engine covers are the same fit. Only difference is the RB25 and RB26 backing plate for the front timing belt cover.
  7. That looks pretty good, shame the colour isn't a perfect match.
  8. Will you seperate? If so ill grab the coil pack cover. Let me know.
  9. Wiring in the new loom and removing the front diff and transfer case is the main points that are a pain in the ass. Have more of a search, there is dozens of threads on it.
  10. So can't wait for this dvd, stop teasing us Andrew
  11. The S2 engine won't make any more power, and if it does it's probably just because it has less wear and tear. The turbo differences was ment for an increase in spool, you would see a bee's dick of difference in power. But agreed, chuck a RB25 in there for better future power, or build a 30/25.
  12. Timing cover = timing belt cover = cambelt timer, all the same shit. Honestly no idea what could make it fail. The knocking noise could be one of the idler or tensioner pulleys getting shagged, or a bolt getting lose on the backing plate, CAS getting screwed, could be a number of things.
  13. Don't suppose you want to get rid of the coil pack cover
  14. If your going to get a solenoid, just buy one second hand, they rarely fail on RB25's. I would hate to think the price Nissan would want for one.
  15. You need a different inlet cam (people go to a RB20 one) to get rid of the VCT. Aftermarket gears wont go onto the standard inlet cam due to a different bolt design (standard cam uses a single bolt through the centre of it, aftermarket gears use 4 smaller bolts as on the standard exhaust cam). And no, the standard ECU wont like you getting rid of the VCT.
  16. Congrats man! I'll have to make sure i dont miss the issue, love your car. Make sure you frame the article, i did on mine
  17. Yep just leave the bottom lip by itself. I have bottom ones on the front that come up a little bit on mine, i was going to put some of the ones like you just got aswell but they just look a bit out of place. Im also sure in Aus you could get defected for them since they stick out so much.
  18. CRAZY! Love the engine bay, so immaculate. Good work!
  19. Has there been any proof (back to back testing) on the whole turbulance thing in a hollowed cat? I understand it would introduce some turbulance but would it be enough to make a difference?
  20. Yeah fair enough, but that's making an allready complicated diff even more complicated Your choice man, i just don't think it is worth all the dramas with what you would have to go to to install it.
  21. Are you serious? You searched the internet and couldn't find what one does, how bad are your search skills In a nut shell they catch/seperate oil vapours so the oil doesn't build up in your intake system. You can have them venting to atmosphere or plumbed back in, the later one being the legal option. Crank cases are pressurised and therefore need to vent somewhere, from factory this venting goes back into the intake and on an engine with a few km's on it the oil vapours can get quite substational which leads to many negative effects. People install catch cans to stop this oil depositing throughout their engine, instead being caught elsewhere (the catch can). It's a mod most of us most likely have. Hope that helps. Seriously just do some more searching, catch cans aren't that complicated.
  22. I don't see what the problem is, for that boost level the power seems spot on give or take a few kw's. Remember every dyno is differen't. How does it drive is the main thing? Does it feel like it's pulling nicely all the way to redline and trying to kill you? If so the power seems spot on. I'm sure you could probably get a little more out of it if you played around with a couple of things but don't expect too much more. What power were you expecting?
  23. Yeah don't retrofit it man, more hassels than anything. If i could just have a nismo 1.5 way or something i probably would.
