  1. It's actually really hard to find a picture of the engine bay lights on the R8. Here's one i found.
  2. Pffft it is not. It's measured by the screams from your passengers on a mountainous road. Noob.
  3. Ok, thinking out loud here. Lately there have been a few people on these forums doing the LED strip R8 style parking lights. The other day i was looking at the R8 and noticed it has LED strips on either side of the engine bay to light it up at night. F***ing cool i was thinking. When i got home i started thinking how annoying it is at night time having to do something in the engine bay with poor lighting on the side of the road, and thought of doing something similar to the R8. Anybody tried anything like this? Obviously it would be best to have it as hidden as possible and throw the light around the engine as much as possible. You could hook it up to the bonnet latch so they come on automatically when the bonnet is popped. (Off of the alarm sensor if you have one fitted). So need some experts on LED's here, what would be the best ones to use? Are there some powerful strips that are only 4-5 LED's in length? Something that withstands a lot of heat obviously, or are they all fine for heat? I know there is neon coloured lighting kits on the net, but i dont mean something that gay. Just something small and subtle in white. Anyway see what you guys think....
  4. Hmmm gauges look allright. Run 10psi through it and it'll love it.
  5. Looks fantastic!! Something i've always wanted to do just didn't know whether it would be worth the effort. After seeing those photos i think you have convinced me Good work buddy.
  6. Ask Marty what it ended up costing him aswell lol. I don't see the cost benefit. The amount of money that conversion cost him could have had a fully built RB30/26 or RB30/25 with what ever turbo selection you wanted, instead of a 220rwkw stock internal RB26 that ended up letting go. It all comes down to what work you could do yourself, if you could do everything yourself (engine out, engine in, wiring new loom etc) than it wouldn't be too bad. Just the cost of the engine, ECU, sump modifications, wiring harness, exhaust modifications, intercooler piping, mod plate etc. I would do the clutch, engine mounts, fuel pump and a couple of other things while i was at it. It all adds up. All the little things that you don't think of start costing a bit. Trust me on that one.
  7. Delete the aerial and don't worry about out. Sif you need to listen to the radio, that's what CD's are for. I'm going to shave mine off one day.
  8. Seriously, some one bring me this fuel up here!! This aint fair I'm going to have to put nitrous in the car just to keep up with you people
  9. Very nice Dave, very nice indeed!
  10. Yes it activates it and switches it off at a pre-assigned RPM point.
  11. Surely that conversion with the Lambo running gear and the donor Mustang would have cost close to the price of a second hand gallardo....
  12. Hahaha i know the feeling lol.
  13. Exactly. Aftermarket FPR's are more trouble than they are worth on most cars unless pushing big numbers or trying to be dodgy and get maxing out injectors to go that little bit extra.
  14. So, so true.
  15. F**k yeah, looks good man. Definetely one to buy.
  16. Damn you guys beat me to it lol. Yep search up Datalogit dude.
  17. Im using slotted and dimpled RDA rotors with EBC redstuff pads and motul fluid. Stock calipers and lines. Brake's very well and even after a long thrashing through the hills still pulls up very well. I might upgrade to braided brake lines one day.
  18. In lamens terms it's using a stock skyline turbo shell and completely rebuilding it to make it flow more air and using steel wheels to allow more boost pressure.
  19. You could go a highflow, or something like a HKS 2535/GTRS etc. All bolt on kits and can retain factory shields.
  20. Thought i would quickly update this. Changed the fluid in the boot and bled it properly with the nipple underneath the pump and the nipple ontop of the diff a month ago(most annoying position to put a nipple, no wonder people never knew about it). After a couple of days topped it up and checked over it again. I also wired some LED's into my dash for the ALSD light and SLIP light as mine got covered up with my white faced dials I put in years ago. My god, what a difference. Diff locks very nicely now and is very controllable in a slide with the slip light coming on when it is supposed to and the ALSD light not coming on to indicate a failure. The car also no longer kicks to the side violentely when coming onto boost in lower gears, holds traction nicely or just lights up both wheels. Very happy with the results I think i will bleed the diff every 5000km when i do all my other services to keep it operating well.
  21. Give the Ferrari back to the owner, FFS it aint his fault. Poor guy. I don't understand these laws at all; some one gets done speeding in the car, so to punish them, they take the car away from the owner.... Stupid politics. If some one took my half million dollar Ferrari away i'd be on there door step with 50 lawyers demanding it back that minute.
  22. My car is more responsive on my current setup than it ever was. Dyno graphs and boost graphs from now and the stock turbo are all better. My goal for my car was to keep it as responsive as i possibly could with as much power as i could (realistically speaking) as it is my street driven daily. So it can be done but it aint easy.
