  1. Well let's just all jump on the "Payout Phil's ECU Train" lol. Yeah i know they aren't the best ECU. But when i put my foot down my boost gauge needle fly's really fast and car's in the mirror get really small...... I still smile
  2. Cheers man. Taking it off is fairly easy, but if you want it done so it looks factory get a panel beater to weld up the hole and respray it. You should only need to spray the front of the boot and blend it onto the line at the bend. My mate owns his own business and has years of experience so he did it and you can't tell its been welded nor sprayed on the bend. Yeah they look terrible on the R33's, really bulky. I reckon most places shouldn't charge more than $250 for taking it off, welding up the plate and respraying the front.
  3. I don't mind the Microtech at all. Maybe mine is still tuned a lot richer than what a lot of you guys run, i dunno. I'm going to find out if it uses the 02 sensor, could have something to do with it. That fuel has to be going somewhere...
  4. Agreed. I'd like to seem them mostly black with an agressive look to them. Something along the lines of an S15/R34 GTR headlight look. Maybe we could draw up some designs or something?
  5. Gary do you know much about the Microtechs and O2 sensors? I know the older models couldnt run them in closed loop, but i read somewhere the LT12S does. I hooked the laptop up and had a flick around to check if it was running in closed loop but i cant seem to find a setting anywhere. I'm pretty sure my O2 would be rooted (i've never replaced it since owning the car) however i dont know whether to replace it or not considering the Microtech might not even use it. You know anything about this? I might go ask Pete when i get a chance.
  6. Id say most would be using the normal one.
  7. I paid about $280 for my gates kit (belt, tensioner etc) and about $165 for my OEM water pump. If you hunt around you can find parts for good prices.
  8. I'm a bit curious on this. Lately i swear my car is using more and more fuel. $30 of BP Ultimate gets me about 100-150km's driving to and from work, im pretty sure it used to get me around a lot more. I was thinking maybe the oxygen sensor is f**ked from using antilag every now and then, however i'm not sure whether Microtech's and other non Power FC ECU's use the standard oxygen sensor.....?
  9. Haha very true!
  10. Mine is welded and resprayed, love the look. Personall i hated the boot lock on the R33, looked to old and out of place.
  11. I said that because it's usually a common thing on these forums saying cams and head work do bugger all. Obviously the money can be better spent on a bigger turbo, but at the cost of lag, not something every one is keen to do. Like i said, im not recommending Rob to do this, i just said it does do it's job when done right. See my sig if you want to know what head work is done, can't be bothered listing it all. Rob have you got a dyno graph with AFR's and boost? Maybe it just needs more timing put into it down low and a better boost controller.
  12. Keep us updated with how you go, there is definetely plenty of interest.
  13. You got any pics?
  14. My dyno graph and car begs to differ. Picked up 30-40kw nearly throughout the rev range up to about 5000rpm with headwork and cams. Not saying this is the route im recommending, however saying cams and headwork when setup for low down power won't give better response and power is utter bullshit.
  15. +1 I'm definetely in if something like this comes out. However try to make them look aggressive if you can and not a cheapo looking headlight. Have you got any pics or something of how you were thinking of having them look?
  16. My skyline is my daily but it's becoming a bit annoying driving every day But a new bike will fix that soon
  17. Hmm fair enough. I'm pretty sure the Motul rep we used to have said 4100 was a group III. I also got told Motul don't make anything below a group III, yet on that list it lists a group II?
  18. Same fit as my older model M Spec, very nice fit and not too hard to do.
  19. Wow, the way you've routed the exhaust is pretty cool. You got a pic of how the exhaust goes through the firewall?
  20. As far as i was aware castrol edge is a GROUP IV fully synthetic oil, just as all the others tested here other than the 300V which is a group V.
  21. Wow looks good man. Keep us posted how you go. Couldn't keep the power steering with that exhaust manifold ay?
  22. Hahaha. Welcome to the forums man I noticed how much you liked GTR's on all the Ignition DVD's and always wondered why you didn't own one.
  23. True. All your Holden LS1/LS2's have 3.46's in the manual where as the HSV's got the 3.73's which is much more suited. A lot of guys put in 3.9's but i think the 3.73's suit the 6 speed perfectly. Good acceleration at the right RPM at 60/80/100 without sacrificing all your top speed. Makes the 6th gear actually usable at a good rpm on 100.
  24. You finding it a bit laggy on the street Rob?
