  1. Do a full exhaust first. The car will make more boost pressure by itself as it is taking away a restriction. Upping the boost on a standard car won't give many gains as there are still large restrictions.
  2. When i used to work for North Coast Kustoms we had a guy drive down from Cairns and he rocked up with a smashed window and cracked bonnet. When we asked what happened he said the fibreglass bonnet lifted up and smashed the window. He had no secondary restraints. That's my personal experience, however there could have been more factors involved like the original bonnet latch could have been faulty, who knows. I'd probably put some sort of secondary restraint on it, wouldn't want to risk it.
  3. a) I aint 16. b) I was trying to help you. c) It's "flutter", not flodder. d) I didnt say anything about the noise being cool, uncool, i said get over it, it aint doing any damage to your $200 turbo. e) Im doing mechanical engineering at uni, so pretty sure i understand fluid dynamics a bit better than you. So thanks for your stupid comment to me, please continue debating your grand modification of installing a BOV.
  4. It is fine for your turbo!! It is not going to blow up!! Don't worry about it.
  5. I'm 90% sure it's still identical like the VL turbo, only difference that it doesn't have the water lines. Not sure about the catridge or the wheels.
  6. The 300ZX uses an identical compressor housing. They just aren't water cooled. http://www2.zhome.com:81/~aktar/zcar/engin...ges/myturbo.jpg
  7. Yep...... It was a shitbox though lol
  8. You can drive a R33 GTR on your green P's in NSW?
  9. Peter have a quick read of this thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ru...ot-t266350.html
  10. Well if it has water lines definetely a VL turbo. If i didn't it would be off the old 300ZX's
  11. Yep, looks like a stock VL turbo to me bud. EDIT: Actually, it doesn't have water connections does it? The comp housing is that from a VLT, however the core itself looks a bit different as im pretty sure VLT's all have water lines. It's not off an old 300ZX or something is it?
  12. Under vacuum the engine just sucks the air through the intercooler core. However once the turbo starts making boost, the turbo side all the way to the valves has to pressurise, this is the lag factor, how quickly it can pressurise the whole inlet. The entire intercooler core therefore has to be pressurised, so the entire intercooler will fill up with air. Therefore the larger the intercooler/pipework etc the longer it takes to pressurize, hence more lag in theory. The air travels throughout the intercooler sucking its way through but constantly under pressure. Hope that kind of helps ya.
  13. Hahahaha they are too! You in Townsville?
  14. Yeah dude, those skirts are really letting it down.
  15. Shit that actually looks decent, you got a pic from further back?
  16. YOU LIE! IT AINT POSSIBLE!!
  17. Hahaha so true, working on an RB26 is a nightmare! You have to have the tiniest hands in the world to get to every bolt and nut.
  18. To me oil is something that people shouldn't be tight about. Amazes me how some people can complain about spending $80+ on oil every 3 or so months, yet it's the same person that spends $1000 on gauges and $400 on a blow off valve. (Not talking about any one specific but more so of what i see through work).
  19. ^what he said. All skyline seats are interchangable other than R34 GTT seats.
  20. Yeah that sounds about right man, they are f**king dear through Nissan. I still want new ones for mine
