  1. Oh ok, thanks for the reply man. Ill see if Gary replies and explains what he ment, hoping these cams go in nice and simple
  2. Hmm thats actually not a bad idea, might try that. Thanks man. Anyone else have any ideas? Surely some bolt/tool shop can order them in or something? Or if some one knows of a store down south ill order them if i have too.
  3. Hey Gary, we are installing the cams into my car in 2 weeks time, could you quickly describe what "shimming the standard springs" is and does? I've never heard of this and was wondering wether we should be doing this with my standard springs. Thanks man.
  4. I'm slowly replacing all my old factory bolts/nuts in the engine bay with stainless steel ones. Now im trying to find the 2 nuts with the inbuilt washer that go on the top of your suspension in stainless steel. Everywhere i've been doesn't even sell normal ones, let alone in stainless. I thought it would be a common item especially at a suspension place, but when i went to one they told me they can't get them. When we asked them "What do you do if you lose/break one and need to get your hands on one", they told us they go to a wrecker?? WTF! Tried bolt masters, hardware stores, suspension places etc. Starting to run out of ideas. Maybe its just cause Townsville is so shit no one here sells them. I know you can get them in stainless because i've seen them in engine bay pics, so does any one know where you can buy them from? Thanks.
  5. Pretty sure on the RB25 you can only go the .64 exhaust housing and on the SR you can pick. Might be wrong though.
  6. My cams go into her in roughly 2 weeks time with a bit more boost, cant wait!! The GTRS is a great little turbo

    R35 Jokes

    OMG that is hilarious!!!
  8. As said above, are you running splitfire coilpacks or standard ones? Also what spark plugs you using?
  9. Lol thats pretty funny
  10. Yep, HKS 256 inlet cam is the largest cam u can put into a 25 to retain VCT. It has slightly more lift then a Poncam, thats the only difference, same duration though.
  11. Pretty sure standard R32 RB26's make about 160-170rwkw as standard RB25's make about 130-140rwkw, obviously depending on dyno and in what condition the motor is in. All i know is from knowing quite a few ppl with similar mods on RB26's up here they make about 220-230rwkw with a Power FC, bit more boost and taking out major restrictions such as the exhaust. Now maybe that extra 20rwkw doesn't sound like much but thats around 35-40HP at the engine, hell thats a low of power to just "lose". But maybe its just something like your exhaust isnt that free flowing or your intercooler is a bit filled with oil build up or your engine is just getting a bit old and worn etc. But hell, if it drives fine and feals fine and you don't really care about getting power out of the car and want just a nice driver, then who really cares, just leave it.
  12. I think he means it should be making a bit more, was everything fixed? Our mates made 230rwkw on the same dyno out of a rb26 with trust dumps, no cat, trust cat-back, pod filters and a Power FC tune on about 12psi. What boost you running it on?
  13. Thats ur problem then. Need the ECU.
  14. Hmm i might try the spray see what it does lol. Are those C02 sprayer kits illegal like nitrous is? Hmm i should probably do a search...
  15. Yeah, ive always thought about it, had a look at work but we are all sold out dammit! If i remember right, it freezes it to like -10/-20 degrees or something. Surely spraying this on your cooler would have some good results. Was thinking about doing this in the next dyno comp to see how it goes.
  16. Yeah i ment i wouldnt use it lol. Get rid of it.
  17. Lol. Has any one sprayed that Loctite freeze and release spray onto their intercooler and noticed a difference? We sell it at work and have always thought about giving it a shot, ment to cool it down to negative temperature, kind of like a Nitrous intercooler spray only a lot cheaper lol. Here's the stuff im talking about: http://www.loctite.com.au/int_henkel/locti...elease_red5.jpg Surely something like this you would notice a BIG difference if some people reckon they can feal a water spray kit work.
  18. Personally i wouldnt do it, in my opinion it would be slightly unbalanced and over time (who knows how long) could get worse and potential throw the balance of the wheel off and make it start hitting the housing.
  19. Yep definetely will get that power, my tune is safe as all hell and im making that much power with a GTRS, so with a 2835 you should be fine, if not making more than that.
  20. If the head is off its probably worth getting it chemically cleaned in a bath just to get rid of all the carbon build up, its pretty cheap anyway. Depends how far you wanna go with modifying the head and the specs of the cams your putting in i suppose. Obviously a new head gasket is needed. I'm kind of in a similar boat to you at the moment, changing my cams in a couple of weeks.
  21. Exactly right, tuning is everything in this day and age regardless of what modifications you have.
  22. .....Wow, you my friend are a f***head. No need for crap like that. His answer was correct, want more boost, add a boost controller, what the hell is your point? If you wanted to ask "hey guys, just wondering how much boost pressure will increase if i remove certain restrictions on my car" then maybe you would have gotten a better answer.
