  1. Yeah now im curious, if its not a v8, what 6 cylinder engine is it to be a 5litre turbo engine
  2. I think on most dynos like the dyno dynamics ones, the standard setting is vehicle speed where as you have to select if you want RPM to be displayed. Correct me if im wrong.
  3. Oh true so did Thizzle's car have the VCT removed and that's why it made the extra top end, but not bottem end power? Thats what my tuner was suggesting to me when i go HKS cams down the track to just to ditch the VCT.
  4. Guess it gives something for tuning companies like Nismo and Top Secret something to make......Mmmm carbon and titanium everything.....*drool*
  5. Crazy, never heard of a RB25 putting out that kind of power on a stock bottem end. Very impressed by that. Do you know how long roughly its been running that kind of power output for? I suppose it will have to let go one day, but to even last that long for a few dyno runs and a motorkhana shows very good tuning indeed.
  6. Oh woops my bad, i was thinking of someone else lol.
  7. Holy shit, thats very impressive. Who tuned it to get those kind of numbers on a stock bottem end?
  8. Ok so ive been looking at a few different dyno graphs for the last hour and it go too hard comparing them all. So i thought, hell ill plot all the plots (as accurately as i could by going off the speed and seeing what power it made) into a spreadsheet in excel so we can compare all the different setups on one dyno graph so to speak. So hear it is: Dark blue line is my car on a stock turbo with 10psi and just a full exhaust system, that was about it. Peaked at about 170rwkw. Pink line is my car with the HKS GTRS turbo but on a stock ECU and stock fuel pump, as you can see, the stock ECU really holds back power and we backed off at about 4500rpm because boost started soaring through the roof due to a problem we had with the dump and the ecu and it also started leaning out. So now the more important ones. Green line is Warlords graph, as you can see the low down power is amazing and so is the midrange. Light blue line is Thizzles graph, at around 4500rpm it starts going above warlords graph up to 300kw. Hope its ok to post this up warlord and thizzle, just thought it would be an interesting comparison to see how these turbos go compared to stock and how different setups run. Obviously they were done on different dynos at different times of the year and in completely different states but its still pretty interesting. What uz think?
  9. Jesus christ! Crazy the amount of power Americans get out of 2J's.
  10. Ok cheers ill have a search for his posts, would be interesting to see the dyno sheet because in the ignition dvd they just showed a quick glimpse of it and then the peak figure. More interested to see how much midrange it was making.
  11. Oh ok, yeah i thought i saw a post a while back regarding that car and someone saying it was theirs. So you can confirm that it did make 300kw@wheels?
  12. No dyno figure yet, the microtech hasnt been tuned yet. Havnt had much time becuase of uni exams and now sup exams. After next week ill book the car in to get it tuned. So ill let you know. Hoping for 250-260kw because the tuners up here aint that flash and i dont have cams.
  13. Warlord, how much boost did u make ur final power output on? and how much power was it? (i remember reading ur thread but cant be bothered searching for it)
  14. Ignition DVD volume 1 i think it was. Gold R33 GTST with a HKS GTRS kit, HKS cams, cam gears etc, the dude in the video said he was one of the first to have this turbo on a RB25, on the dvd they show the dyno run and he makes a little bit over 300kw@wheels at like 21psi, think it was like 302 or something. So yes it has been done, not sure how many times, but the point is it has been done. My friends black S15 also has a GTRS on it (one of the reasons why i got mine was with his help and going for drives in his car), Simon from Morpowa in Adelaide tuned it and i think it was on 18 or 19psi it made 270 odd at the wheels, thats on a SR20 and it was ment to be on a pretty safe tune. Pretty sure there would be a lot more out there hovering around 280-290kw@wheels, doesn't seem so hard to believe to me.
  15. Seen quite a few make close to 300kw@wheels, a couple a tad over. Thats 400HP@wheels, turbos arent rated at HP@wheels but how much they can flow, so if anything the turbo is underated, and you will find most turbos flow a lot more then their clamed HP ratings.
  16. HAHA!
  17. Pedro runs a 3037 on his stock ECU on his R34 and its fine, hits airflow cut every now and then but its all good. The stock ECU will protect the engine as long as you dont run out of fuel or if it doesnt hit some massive amount of boost.
  18. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA -1 trader rating comment *I have no try* HAHAHAHAHA!
  19. As long as it doesnt lean out and it isnt running huge amounts of boost it should be fine. Mine's been running on a stock ECU for a while now and no sign of any damage, not saying its a good idea but at least it shouldnt go bang too quickly.
  20. Havn't read this topic for a couple of days now because of the sh*t fight it caused mentioning someone in my family had a monaro, my god its not a nissan and im on a nissan forum. I'm glad some people replied that actually like cars for what they are, cars. Not because of the badge on it or the fact that they have probably never driven the car being mentioned. Very well said.
  21. Nice, e-wang, you must be very smart to think of that one. So your saying a 500rwkw skyline is going to be responsive..... if a standard displacement Rb25 with 500rwkw came onto boost (talking about like decent boost, not 1-2psi) much before 5000rpm id be very suprised, so i dont think i was exegarating that much. Ummm i actually never said anything like that but yeah ok then.. Monaro brand new $60,000ish, R34 GTR over $100,000 good comparison, lets start comparing a 1995 Totoya Corolla to a 1995 BMW, they were made in the same year so they must be in the same category ay!
  22. Pfft mate i love my car and wouldn't sell it for anything, not because its a skyline but because its my car and it means a lot to me. Its probably a lot more modified then yours and i probably know a lot more about them then you so don't give me smart ass comments like that! It's just im not the type of person that says ohh a Ferrrari Modena is a crap car because my skyline does a 1/4 mile time quicker then it by 0.3 seconds and has 20 more HP then it or some crap. And what are u comparing anyway a 4 door SS commodore to a 2 door AWD GTR? Yeah fair enough the GTR will out handle it hands down. Lets flip the coin however, how about comparing a 4 door skyline to a 2 door Monaro, i can gaurantee the monaro will outhandle it. So if your going to give out such great advise how about you specify what your talking about instead of being a smart ass b*tch.
  23. Some of my mates skylines look like they have had 30 years of wear and tear yet their clocks read something like 50,000km.....haha yeah right!
  24. Exactly right. Please don't tell me some of you guys really think that there were no recalls on such a mass produced car such as the skyline in Japan.... Too the people saying that they would rather a a 500rwkw skyline over a 500rwkw LS1 or whatever, fair enough. However i can guarantee the 500rwkw LS1 wont need to rev to 5500rpm just to come onto boost.....
  25. My old man has a supercharged (+ shit loads of other mods) 03 CV8 Monaro with over 500HP at the wheels and i can tell you it handles, drives and accelerates better then probably 90% of the skylines on here (i have a skyline so im not being bias in anyway) and it can still drive in everyday traffic unlike some of the cars here. I hate people that comment on how shit *insert car name here* are when they have never driven one or could never afford one, but somehow there 200rwkw GTST skyline or whatever is the best thing in the world. Seriously some of you guys need to wake up. My 2 cents worth.
