Dyno Results And Over Boosting Issue

Really? Well i hope thats what mine is then. So when it got tuned and the timing was corrected it held boost perfectly? -
Dyno Results And Over Boosting Issue
PM-R33 replied to Simon-S14's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
With the gate fully opened (ie the actuator disconnected so the flap moves freely) both of our cars still make near 1.3bar of boost so it definetely isn't the actuator and i have changed dump pipes so it aint the dump pipe. For my car the only thing i think it could be is in the stock ECU retarding the timing so much. In Simon-R32's case i have no clue what it could be, and if my microtech being tuned doesn't fix the problem then im going to be in the same boat as him -
Dyno Results And Over Boosting Issue
PM-R33 replied to Simon-S14's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah well that's why im thinking the microtech will help because at the moment its running a stock ECU. My tuner said its the timing affecting it so lets hope he is right. In your case however it cant be timing related because im assuming your running aftermarket engine management of some sort, so your case is strange aswell. -

Dyno Results And Over Boosting Issue

Its a xforce bellmouth dump pipe all in one, previous one was a split Bos importing one. Both did exactly the same, so i dont think it is dump pipe related, or atleast if it is, i dont understand how.... The other weird thing is the way in which boost climbs. Once on boost, it climbs really quickly to 7-8psi at about 3000-3500rpm, then it climbs really slowly to 14psi at about 5500-6000rpm and then from 6000 it just climbs to around 20psi where it stops due to hitingt rev limiter. (I dont go over 6000rpm anymore, i only used to when testing what the hell was going on). -

Genuine gtrs with the hks actuator. From what i've read they are ment to run around 14-15psi, mine hits around 20ish, somtimes more, its just hard to tell because at about 6000rpm it just skyrockets and i usually back off. -

HKS GT-RS. Heaps of people run this turbo with no dramas so i dont really get it. I have tried literally everything to solve the problem and i dont get why it makes so much boost. Maybe the turbo is a freak and just loves boost -
Dyno Results And Over Boosting Issue

I changed dump pipes thinking it would solve the problem and it didnt. With my wastegate wired fully open it still hits huge amounts of boost just like yours. I can't explain it at all, gives me the shits. Hopefully with the electronic boost controller and a full tune on the microtech it some how fixes it.....i hope! -
Hope you can afford tyres to go on 12.5" rims.....thats just nuts.

Dyno Results And Over Boosting Issue

Very curious to find out how you go with this as my car does the same thing, loves to climb in boost. Im hoping the tuner some how fixes it once it goes in to get tuned in January. Let me know how you go. -
Technically you can do that, but if you could find another vacuum source where it's not being shared by something else it would probably be better, epecially since it is a boost controller.
-
Pretty much any vacuum line coming off of the plenum is the same vacuum source, so it really doesnt matter where you hook it up as long as it is off of the plenum.
-
http://www.greddy.com/tech/ You can download the instructions from there, its pretty easy to install. It does't matter wether its an RB20, RB25 or even a SR20, its always the same installation. The boost solenoid that goes in the engine bay has two vacuum lines, one from the actuator, and one from like an intercooler pipe. It's basically the same way you install a boost tee. Electronics wise you will just have to fine the right wires, earth, power, etc.

Question About Every Day Driving For Turbo Owners
PM-R33 replied to Tomek's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hahaha! -
+1 for GT-RS, however if you wanna go more towards the 290mark, then maybe a HKS 2835. You may need an engine rebuild some time after pushing this type of power. I'm limiting myself to 270@wheels for the stock bottem end for the time being.

Question About Every Day Driving For Turbo Owners
PM-R33 replied to Tomek's topic in General Automotive Discussion
you've made my day once again. I'm glad to know if i have had a shit day or something i can log onto SAU and search threads to see if you have posted to make me piss myself laughing Good stuff!! -
Are you talking killowatts? What on earth are you going to do with 580kw @ the wheels?? "Drag Me" runs a RB25 at around 520kw @ wheels with nitrous if i remember correctly and im pretty sure it still runs a standard block (obviously with extremely strong internals) with just some extra oil squitters. So with that stroker kit and a massive turbo and a engine worked to an inch of it's life.....yeah its possible. Hope you can afford to sell both of your kidneys and maybe a friends kidney. Once again.....what on earth are you going to do with 580kw??

R32 Owners Sick Of Led Tail Lights?
PM-R33 replied to catchmydriftr32's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
LED tail lights on skylines look as gay as two men f*****g..... The only ones that look allright are the ones on the R34 Z tune. Those tomei ones don't look to bad though. -
Here's a bit of my input: Polished Metal California Custom Purple Metal Polish for all chrome or polished metals. It's made in the US and is a bit tricky to find over here in Australia. Anyone that has used it always says its the best metal polish they have ever used. Exterior plastics/rubbers Mothers Back To Black is very good however leaves a bit of a sticky film on the area and it attracts dirt very easily after a bit of a drive. Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care seems to be a bit better with not leaving such a sticky residue. Paint As for the paint in the engine bay (pretty much the same products you would use on the outside of the car). Obviously after getting rid of all the grease and dirt, Autoglym Super Resin Polish or if you have a dark coloured paint (ie. not white) Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine. With me owning a white car and my old man having a black car I have used a lot of car care products, mainly due to the fact i get them cheap through work and these ones i have found to be the best in their particular area. Obviously there are hundreds of different products and if you are stuck on choice go either Autoglym, Mothers, Bowdens or Meguiars. All are great brands and easily available in most stores.

+1 Oil Catch Can In my opinion every performance car should have an oil catch can. Cheap mod and very helpful. The amount of oil and crap you get in your cooler pipes, plenem, throttle body etc is a joke.

How 2 Get 250kw - 300kw At The Wheels With A R33 Gts25-t
PM-R33 replied to rob123456's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Wow, way to dig up an old thread. For $900, assuming its for an RB25 nothing really champ, unless you can pick up a second hand Power FC off of someone. -
I've got a GTRS and the response is awesome and it isn't even tuned yet, comes on pretty much like a standard turbo. Personally i reckon anything smaller is a waste, fair enough it might come on 200rpm sooner, but really who cares about such a small amount of lag. Go either a GTRS or a 2835 if you want some more power, if you go smaller i reckon you will regret not going something bigger with a bit more potential. Remeber, once you get used to the power, you always want more. ALWAYS!

No offence dude, but who would buy second hand seat covers worth like $10-$20........
