  1. Thanks alot!!!! The garage that is going to tune for me when I am ready said that they will use the Greddy E-Manage for my car. Is this a good piggy back computer? Also, do I have to get the car tuned to have the full turbo back exhaust be useful? Thanks!!!
  2. Hello I originally posted this post in the wrong area. I have a R32 GTS-T auto and I want to put a full turbo back exhaust on it.( I have a cat back exhaust on now.) I was checking hi flow cats and down pipes and turbo exhaust pipes from Tomei, HKS, etc, and most of the specs said that I have to have a manual transmission to use this. I live in Japan Is this true? Do I have to have a manual to change to a full turbo back exhaust? Help please!!!
  3. Hello I have a R32 GTS-T auto and I was wondering if it is a big change in performance between a auto and a manual. I can drive a manual, just haven't driven a manual Skyline before. I want to tune my car and put these mods to it, full turbo back exhaust (have a cat back exhaust now) injectors, fuel pump, cams, boost controller. Will my auto beable to accept these mods, or do I have to change to a manual car. If so, will a stock R32 manual be good? Help please!!!!
  4. Hello I have a R32 GTS-T stock except for a Apexi cat back exhaust and a Apexi air intake filter. I want to put a turbo back exhaust on and a down pipe. Do I have to put on a high flow cat at the same time?(wondering if the stock cat will cause a bottle neck) And do I have to have the car tuned? Please help, I havent seen any post concerning these questions. Sorry I posted this in the wrong section, I don't know how to move it to the correct section
  5. I am in Japan. I live close to the Nissan factory. But I want to make sure to do it correctly. The Nissan people suggested that I change some of the hoses and gaskets when I install the new turbo. My friend said that when I intall the used turbo, I should do another engine oil flush. Is this the way to do it? Help please!!!!!!!!

  7. Hello I did read it. But the only thing that I could find was someone talking about GTR cams into a RB 20 I have HKS N2 RB cams(says it on the cam) They came out of another GTST but dont know how they worked. My friend gave them to me.

  9. Hello I have a r32 gts-t I want to start upgrading the car. I have HKS cams I am going to install later . I want to put a bigger fuel pump and injectors. Question is, do I need to get a bigger turbo if I want to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors? Can I keep the stock turbo? Is it a good idea to replace the manifold? I am going to put a split pipe before the cat and later buy a hi flow cat, will this be ok with a stock turbo? Can I ungrade to a little bit bigger FMIC without changing to a bigger turbo? I dont want to upgrade to a bigger turbo because expensive and dont want to lose response time. I want to have a car that is quick in traffic and fast on the highway. Help
  10. Hello I blew my turbo on my r32 gts-t and I am replacing it with a used stock one. I might have Nissan do it. My friends said that they would help me change it but I am wondering if I should let Nissan do this. Also what else should I check for when I change the turbo? Should I clean the turbo first, do I need to do a oil flush after this? Help
  11. Hello This is a bit long but have to tell what happened so you will understand the question. My rb 20 det turbo died today. Yesterday I did a engine oil flush(had been a long time since I changed engine oil, car has sat a long time) and after that my engine started to knock hard. Everyone was sure if was a lifter or valve, they kept telling me "Your engine is gone" but someone checking the engine keep reving the engine every few mins for 30 mins(they used the rev cable under the hood) After that my engine cleared up super good. I drove home, not speeding and everything was fine. Well this morning I was stopping and accelatrating alot in traffic today and hitting boost some. My engine started shaking bad for almost 10 sec and the car shut off briefly(2 sec) After that it was fine but alittle later my engine did the same thing again (10 sec) but didn't shut off. After that it made a loud wurling sound and I thought, oh air leak. I was on my way to a mechanic so I took it slow. He has worked on my car before and has his own shop, he is pretty good with engine repairs as far as I know. The mechanic checked the engine and drove the car and he told me that the turbo was gone, and the engine is fine. Seems like the loud pinging noise from last night was old dirt blocking the lifters and it came out but took out the turbo in the process. The mechanic said that I can drive slowly maybe a month on the engine until I can afford to get a new turbo. I want to ask, is this safe? Will I blow the engine? I have to find a affordable turbo(stock) soon. Will a RB 25 det turbo work with out tuning? Is it safe to get 2nd turbo? Help Please
  12. Hello I have a R32 Det I understand the mods I can do to my car now to get 300hp. But I want to check to see if changing to a RB25 Det would be better. I see used RB 25 dets on Japan Yahoo Auction for as low as 500 dollars. But I dont know if this would be a good choice to buy a engine if its so cheap. What are peoples opinion on this? What are some possible bad points to buying a used engine? If I want 300hp, what is the biggest advantage over a RB 25 compared to a RB 20? I dont want to put a ton of money into a used RB 25 just to get it to standard condition and then have to mod it. I only have 106000 kilometers on my RB 20. What about R2 GTR's for 4000 dollars. I have seen them this cheap on Japan Yahoo auction too. Is this too low to be good? Or would it be that cheap just because its stock? Help Before start modding, want to look at all of the options.   13. Ok Thank you, will start buying parts now. I checked on Just Jap and they have a 570cfm hi flow cat for only 200 dollars. I am going to get that and the front pipe and will do the first mods. I will let everyone know how it comes out. Thank you everyone
  14. Yes that helps, thank you. Is the E-Manage fine? I dont know the price for the SAFC but the E-Manage is pretty cheap. Where would I get Auto Shift kits from as well as a high stall converter? Which brand of boost controller would you recommend? Thanks Help

  16. Ok, sorry I had missed some of the posts. Ok so maybe bigger injectors later. I think the cheapest start is to do the full exhaust. After that do the fuel pump and fuel rail. If I want more after that, I will look at a bigger intercooler. If want more after that, then will look into getting my turbo hi flowed. I understand now. What is a fuel regulator? Would I need that or a oil cooler? What about the cold box around the intake? Oh and does anyone think the hi flow cats that they sell on Just Jap is good? I have seen hi flow cats from 80 dollars up to 800 dollars. I want to do the cams because its so cheap to buy them and the adjustable gears. Thanks Help
  17. Ok Thank you. If someone could please tell me how to read the Dyno charts I would greatly appreciate it. Also just the other questions I had asked, will replacement cams and cam gears improve anything? When would I need bigger injectors? I looked at the Just Jap site and saw that they have the hi flow cats, they are cheap! Are those good? Thanks Help

Oh I wanted to ask, does anyone suggest replacing radiator with new one even though stock one is working?My car is 16 years old. If getting a new one is good, should I go with original from Nissan or would a aftermarket one be better? Thanks Help
  19. Hello I have a R32 GTS-T I have to replace my factory shocks, but dont have alot of money. I have seen many companie's 1300 and up coil overs. I was wondering if there is a cheaper option. Would used coil overs be ok? If so, what is a good way to check to see if they are any good or not? I am going for street, with a comfortable ride. I like to turn corners and get good speed going on the highway. I live in Japan. Help
  20. Ok, thanks, will read the charts. How do you read the graphs? I am new to all of this. When would I need to worry about upgrading the injectors? One thing I am planning on doing after I do the full exhaust is to try the Tomei replacement cams and cam gears. Does any have any idea what this would do to my car as far as power and lag?   21. Thanks for all of the info. One question, the mechanic that I spoke with said that if I put a FMIC on it and kept the stock turbo I woud get more hp but he said that it woud slow down my response time, it would give me power but I would have a slow start. Is there a way to keep this from happening? And I have a automatic, does that make any difference? Thanks Help

Well I cant afford a GTR, I dont like R33s(too big for me) Dont want to try to buy a RB25 or 26 because expensive and if I buy a RB25( I have seen them on Japan Yahoo Auction for as low as 500 dollars) but my mechanic suggested that it may or may not be in good working condition. Thats a chance I dont want to take. So I figure if I only want to reach 300 hp in the end, I will stick with my RB 20. Is there any way to get a good response out of it? Thanks
  23. Hello I am ready to start modding my car. I dont know how to rate kw but I am looking for about 250 hp right now. I have a R32 GTS-T stock except for the cat back exhaust( 3" I think) The mechanic I go to suggested that I do these mods to my car: exhaust manifold down pipe sports cat/hi flow cat catback exhaust(all ready have this, was on the car when bought it. Its a Aplexi 3" I think.) bigger fuel pump(He suggest GTR) sports air pod(Like the Aplexi or HKS) boost controller Fuel rail E-Manage Ultimate. How does this sound? Is this correct? He said that I don't need to touch my fuel injectors and dont need a FMIC. Will this work and will I have a good response time in my car still? I dont want to have a laggy car. I finally drove R33 GTS-T and I felt the difference. The R33 had way more acceleration without the lag I feel in my car when I start off from a stop. I want to have a good car with good accelaration. Please help. Oh I live in Japan.
  24. Hello I read the post about how people modded their RB20's but I want to know, what mods can be done with out having to buy a new computer and what upgrades require new computer. I have stock everything except for the muffler exhaust, I think its a 3", it has a big opening and its made by Apexi. My airfilter is the green HKS kind. Help please want to start now. Thanks
  25. Hello I have a R-32 GTS-t and I have 102000 km on it. I have to change the timing belt. I was wondering if it is a good idea to do a engine rebuild? It works fine but I want to extend the life of the engine. Plus I want to put aftermarket cams in there. I have a engine manual and know some mechanics who are good at rebuilding engines(They havent worked on the RB engine but have done other American and Japanese engines) They are willing to help me. I have never taken apart or put a engine back together but I am mechanically inclined, I like and I am good at taking apart things and rebuilding them. Is this a project I should undertake or should I not do it? Help
