Ready To Put In 272 Cams. What Supporting Mods?
335 replied to 335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hello These cams were given to me, so I took them. They are HKS 272 degrees N2 with 8.53 lift. My mechanic said they should drop in. They are made for the RB 20. Came out of another 32. So since they have 8.53 lift instead of the 10mm mentioned earlier, is this better? So can I use these without all the stuff having to be done as mentioned earlier? If I do keep these which turbo would be a appropriate turbo to use for these? If I get Tomeis should I get the pon cams or the pros? Help please -
Hello I am putting HKS 272 cams into my '91 R32 GTS-T with 116000 Km on it. The car will be tuned and will have a bigger fuel pump and possibly a R33 turbo on it as well as a front mount. Should I replace the valve springs and lifters? Or should the stock ones be fine? Also what other mods should I do to support this? I want my engine to last at least 5 more years. I don't race but use my car as a daily driver. I will be going fast on the highway sometimes. Maybe Maybe I will take it to the track twice a year just to go faster. Help

hello I have a R32 GTS-T with only a cat back exhaust and pod. My original fuel pump died last year and I put a used one from a junked 32 into there. The car seems to run fine for the past year but it vibrates a lot now and the noise from the car is loud. People come from inside of their house and ask me to turn off the car. People at work can hear me when I come to work. It has become a little quieter after I replaced my worn and dying fuel injectors but sometimes after driving a little hard my car is vibrating like mad and loud. Are these signs that this pump is going soon or is it normal? My friends with modded cars says my car is quiet compared to theirs. I was thinking about upgrading to a new GTR pump or a Nisimo bigger pump specifically made for the R32 GTS-T. Which would be better and maybe less noise? Help

Thank you Oh do I need a fuel regulator? The pump I am looking at is the Nismo one which flows 4.1 liters per min I think.

Hello I am getting a new fuel pump soon to replace my old one. I have everything stock in the car except for a catback exhaust and pod. If I get a bigger flowing fuel pump do I need to change the injectors or get the car tuned? Thanks Help

335 replied to 335's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hello Thanks for the input, I will keep that in mind when I get coil overs. But what I mean is, should I get stock Nissan or Nismo parts such as cambers, upper/lower arms, etc. ? -

Rb 25 Turbo And Support Modes Ready But.....
335 replied to 335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cool Thanks, won't put it on until I am ready for the tune. On goes the 20 turbo until than. -
Hello I have '91 R32 GTS-T type M with 116000km. I have Cusco tie rod ends and Cusco front tension rods and Cusco front strut bar. As far as I know, my suspension is fine but I am going to have Nissan look at it when I go and get my front end alignment. If I need to replace anything such as bushings, parts, etc. Should I go with stock parts or get parts from Nismo? Even if everything is fine, should I still change out stuff like the front/rear upper arms, rear lower arms, etc? Or only fix things when they break? My car is 17 years old so I want to make sure that I keep the suspension good and safe with a good driving feel. I don't have any big horse power mods, only a catback, and pod. But I will be putting a RB 25 turbo in, bigger cams, and bigger fuel pump and bigger fuel injectors later. I have 17s on my car. I like to corner semi fast, and hit it on the highway sometimes. I live in Japan so sometimes there is a lot of bumper to bumper traffic. Thanks Help

Hello I am ready to put my RB 25 turbo onto my RB20 R32 GTS-T and yes I have the elbow. Question, I know it is a good idea to have fmic or a R 33/34 smic, but what if I went with only the smic(stock or R34) instead? I can't buy the fmic right now and don't have the extra cash for tuning even if I did for the next month. I don't want to risk blowing my engine because of not tuning, so should I wait to put on the RB25 turbo? Modes I have now are Aplexi pod, catback exhaust with a cannon tip, turbo timer and boost gauge. Soon to get a split down pipe and boost controller. Help please, I have to put a turbo on soon, have been driving without one for a month now.

I am putting this, downpipe, split front pipe, hi flow cat, onto the car. I was planning on buying a boost controller. So far , everyone says put the RB20 actuator onto the RB25 turbo. If its going to shorten the life of the turbo I will take it off. Keep or take off?

Hello I am putting a RB25 turbo on to my RB20 engine. The Rb25 turbo has a HKS acuator on it. Does any know what this does for the turbo? I have read that I should put my RB 20 one on to the RB25 turbo, but should I keep the HKS one on their when I put it on to my engine? Help please Thanks
-
Oh I understand. Will try that way. Well now I have a choice, I can put the replacement RB20 turbo on to replace my blown RB20 turbo, or I can put the RB 25 turbo on. Only thing is I don't have a fmic on now and I don't have a piggy back computer to tune. So should I wait to put the RB25 turbo on until I have a fmic or is it ok to put on now and don't tune it?

You mean behind the engine where the back of the coil pack cover is? Do I have to take off the manifold? I would really dont want to take off the manifold. Oh the RB25 turbo I pulled out has a HKS aftermarket actuator on it. Should I keep that on or put the RB20 one on it?

Well I wanted to hear other peoples experiences with changing injectors. I have not worked on cars before until recently so I am learning as I go. Yes had to take off the top of the penum, Nissan suggested that I take the whole thing off but once I saw how things were connected, I decided I didn't need to. Did not want to go too far and mess something up. I think this job would not take to long if someone can get the bolts off quickly. Take time of course. Back hurts Next want to learn how to put on a better down pipe and high flow cat.

Hello I just took a RB 25 turbo off for my first time, of a junked R33. It wasn't hard. Most of the piping was off, so it was easy. I took off the afm tube, the turbo. I had problems with some of the line bolts, mainly the water line(the one that goes to the back of the engine. I just cut that one. The other ones were not too hard just hard to get to as far as reaching. I spent 6 hours mostly because I did it outside and it was freezing. But the line bolts were what slowed me down. I have the elbow and down pipe for the turbo. The pieces were kept on. Any suggestions for when I put it back onto my car, a GTS-T R32? I have read the tutorial on the Project 32 website but wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything else I need to do when I put this on my car. Help

Hello I have a GTS-T R32 Just changed injecters for the first time. It wasn't hard but took along time. About 7 hours. It wasn't hard except for taking the bolts out of the penum. Some are underneath and hard to reach. Anyone else change theirs before?
-
I will try that thank you. Oh I have the replacement set of injectors but they are on a rail already. I have all of the replacement seals but was wondering since these are already on a rail, should I just take out my old injectors, rail and all, and just put in the replacement injectors with the rail they are all ready in? They are the correct injectors

I don't have to remove the intake manifold? How do I do it? I see the rail but it looks as if I have to take off the intake manifold, and Nissan told me I have too. Thats why I have gaskets for the intake manifold and penum. I am in Japan so it came from the horse's mouth. But if there is a way I can do it please tell me

Hello I have to replace my stock injectors with another set of stock injectors.(one is not working correctly and the rest are soon to die, Nissan checked it for me) I have all of the parts but was wondering if this job is a not so hard one to do by someone who has never changed injectors before. My friend is going to help(he is a mechanic but not sure if he has changed RB20 injectors before.) I want to do it but I found out that I have to take off the penum, intake manifold to do this. And I have to unscrew the cable that controls the revving of the engine(next to the throttle body). Is this a easy job? Help please

Rb20 Lean Out Problem, Just Installed 440cc's
335 replied to r3240sx's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So you cant run larger injectors with a stock ecu and a piggyback? Thats how I have been suggested to go. The tuner I will use and people from this forum suggested a piggy back computer if I go with larger injectors and a after market fuel pump. What's right? -
Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
335 replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So they are too big? I was planning on putting in a RB25 turbo, maybe a trust FMIC(nothing too big, don't want alot of lag), fuel pump and 550cc injectors, split front pipe, sports cat, boost controller, and a Emanage for the ECU and get tuned. I might put the FMIC last, not sure if want a bigger FMIC. -
Sounds like a blown turbo. Is your turbo ok? I blew mine and it made the same noise under hard acceleration.
