I'd guess that the series2 would be better having quicker spool time? RB20 would take a little longer to spool a bigger turbo, so you might as well get the most efficient one you can.
-
I'd say AFM man. Similar thing happened with a mates car. I came round, unplugged the AFM, then started it with 1/4 throttle down. It was enough to limp it back to his place until he changed the AFM. Same thing though... it'd start, for 1-2 seconds, then die.

I guess all your sub-frame bushes check ok OK? My previous RWD (non-nissan) cars have had similar issues when the trailing arms had stuffed bushes. I'd hit a join in the road surface, then the car would crab-walk, hit a dip, and it'd straighten up again. As far as my current R33 goes, it's fine all the time. No crab-walking, no shifting... HICAS appears to be working fine, but I don't often push it hard enough to feel it. cookie, do you have an R32 or R33? 32's have hydrolic HICAS, so you could have a blocked pipe somewhere. The main unit is on the drivers side rail in the engine bay. Might need bleeding or more fluid or something. If it's R33, then yeah... it's an electric motor, so it'd need diagnosing.

Not Sure What This Small Pipe Is From The Inlet Man.

Yeah, the big one is for your brake booster... Whatever you're holding in the picture goes elsewhere, right? That'd be for the stock map sensor possibly. -
4x R33 Gtst Stock Wheels + Tyres
RANDY replied to RANDY's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sold and gone! Thanks! -
Is that an adapter plate that came with the BOV? Someone asked a similar question once, and it ended up being a blocking plate that the new BOV was bolted to. Stupid suggestion, but it was stupid last time too! ;o) Oh, and you're not getting any less power, right? It's building actual boost over the "0" mark on the stock guage, yeah?
-
Fuel that is pressurised around 50psi? I doubt that would make any flow difference? No idea... but unless you're running a fairly worked car, I doubt you would get ANY benefit. As a side-note, the bigger one won't fit into the stock bracket on the R33.

Aww c'mon! I was just joking around! =-[

Squeezing Power Out Of Stock R33 Turbo And Fuel System
RANDY replied to tezflow's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I don't think anyone can put it better. =-] -
My god I love my multimeter! Is there nothing it can't do? I couldn't think how to test the socket initially, but during my lunchbreak it popped into my head. All good, cheers!
-
R32 = hydrolic (fluid) R33 = electric Pop your head under the rear, and you'll see the electric motor strapped to the rear diff. And don't mess with teh GTRGeoff! =-D

I have a spare A/C unit, and I want to light it up for the purpose of taking photos of different lighting methods. Is there any way of finding out which pin on the back of the A/C unit is used for illumination? Cheers in advance!

Apexi Neo S-afc/v-afc Controller

Careful man... people will shoot you down on the price. Nengun can deliver a new one for less... but i'll watch this topic incase the price comes down any. =-] -
Here you go, some references to the optional foglights on series 1's. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;hl=foglight http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;hl=foglight http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;hl=foglight Can't find any guides on what you have to replace, but i'd guess that you'd have to change the indicator stalk, and maybe some wiring behind the dash? I think from memory the wiring is around the front bar somewhere... Then you have to change the indicator lenses I think...
-
Take a pic of the wiring when you're there. You might be able to get someone to confirm the colour-coding.
-
Well if all else fails.... I won't be trying that! =-p I've sanded and sprayed my ashtray, and it came out quite nicely... so as soon as i'm not working again, out will come that damn shifter-surround!
-
no.. I agree... Unless it's on a stretch of dirt road in NT where there are no speed limits, and no-one else to harm. It would be funny though! They can do Parramatta Road or Pittwater Road on the Northside. The wheels and shocks will fall of the cars, and they'll never make it through two sets of lights at a time. Then they have our tougher, more restrictive police force to recken with. Hello 40km/hr school zones!

Can You Retro Fit Tweeters In The Factory A-pillar Mounts?
RANDY replied to Bliksem's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Naww bro! Get two a-pillar guage-holders, and then stick them in that. Then light them up with a bright blue light and write "NISMOHKSGREDDY" on them. ;op =-] -
Hey no drama! I was referring to this car: <------------------------ EDIT: Bob is right though.. this will be really hard to get accurate. There is another thread going for differences between R33 models alone. The 98 series 2 R33 has the same CAS as the R34GTT, so it's interchangeable with SOME R33's, not all. Then there's the GTR's to take care of... might want to keep it to just a "popular upgrades" list? Like wheels and intercooler.. basic stuff so new owners can get an idea of what they can upgrade cheaply (and stealthily)

Been covered many times, from memory. Optional foglights for series1 front bar. Yours will have a clear bit there, next to the indicator, but no bulbs or holder or wiring.

Squeezing Power Out Of Stock R33 Turbo And Fuel System
RANDY replied to tezflow's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
nah, at 14psi I think the exhaust wheel can just shatter... spinning too fast. 12 is the commonly quoted "maximum" you would ever want to run, but to expect much shorter lifespan out of the turbo. 10 is the safety level that people run their stockers at. Having said that though, i've seen guys say they run their stock turbo at 14psi every day for 2 years with no problems. Depends if you want to take the risk for the extra power or not. I'm still running 7psi using a manual controller, and might go up to 10 once I have my exhaust sorted. -
Can You Retro Fit Tweeters In The Factory A-pillar Mounts?
RANDY replied to Bliksem's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Stylish.. now THAT's doing it right! If you can get your hands on the pillars, wouldn't they have the tweeters still attached? Or is the quality of the optional tweeters lacking somewhat? -
Yeppers, I think I was in that post somewhere. I'm quite quite certain that the "grain of wheat" are the slightly larger globes used in the A/C unit. They have a solid bare wire. The smaller yellow pigtail globes are for hazard/demister. You have to strip the yellow shielding off, and the wires are stranded. I have done both, and i'm very sure this is correct. I have just received another second hand A/C unit, all original, with working bulbs and globe caps. They are exactly the same size as the grain of wheat. I suspect that cookie-monster got the wrong globes from Dick Smiths when he asked for "grain of wheat", because the ones I got were the same as the online catalog picture, and identical to what came out of my (unopened) A/C unit. R33 series 1 and 2 should be the same.
