  1. LOL. I *knew* that picture looked exactly like a post i've seen before... YOURS! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;hl=r32+trim 4 months ago.
  2. If I find it, i'll post it up.
  3. Timing belt? Mine whined a little bit after replacing the idler, tensioner, and belt. (all stock replacements). It might have been tight, but in the first month i'd imagine that the belt would slacken off a bit, and you'd have to retension it. Mine has smoothed out and is fine now (4 months since change). Only other thing that comes to mind is if they didn't do the tensioner up properly... the belt will slap against the cover, and whine as it slips past the bearing. Remove the top-half inspection plate, and check that the belts seem really tight.. maybe even shine a torch down there to check it.
  4. How fast does a turbo spin at idle? Roughly? More than 950rpms? If so, it'd be pointless to have the motor spin it slower?
  5. Are you going to stick a small supercharger in place of the A/C? I mean... I doubt anyone would get rid of a working A/C in a daily driver? There'd have to be a BIG benefit to justify removing it. Certainly not for the minimal power loss from just having it connected. Keen to see what you guys are up to!
  6. Dude! Which ones of these are NOT illegal? I think the only equivalent payback for putting bits of wood on the floor is at BEST to lift their windscreen wipers. What a darstardly feat!
  7. I think a lot of people couldn't be bothered to write you an answer if they see that you couldn't be bothered to type "are" instead of "r"... and so on. But anyway, there are a few pics around, but off the top of my head: One outlet on the stock controller goes to intake pipe, down under where the stock airbox is (was?). Other side goes to wastegate actuator. If you have an aftermarket controller, it's probably hooked up to these points anyway, so you just need to unplug the piping and put it back onto the stocker. Go for a drive and check that the boost goes up to a reasonable point, and if you have the piping the wrong way round, you should only get 5psi?
  8. I hear something like that with the stocker actually... Not all the time, it's weird.
  9. Oh MAN those are bad! That's gone pretty deep, yeah? Sorry to hear about it mate... It's one of my biggest paranoia's at the moment, and i've had a fairly bad run with my VP Berlina (before I bought the R33)... mostly break-ins and wheel-thefts.
  10. You can drive it as much as you like. It will make a lot of noise from the air being pushed, and it will still cool everything (even when it DOESN'T need it). New fan I think is under $200... Call Nissan?
  11. Sounds more like that it is spinning when it shouldn't. This is because it's a viscous clutch fan, and when it fails, it locks up. If you start the car when it is dead cold, it should spin up and then come off after a minute. Or, to test whether it has seized or not, tomorrow morning, open the hood, and try to spin the fan with your hand (car off!). If it resists a LOT, then it's seized and you need to buy a new one. Changing it is pretty easy though (4 bolts), and if you wiggle it, just a little bit, (hehe) it should slide past the radiator shroud.
  12. Shouldn't be too hard to take the door trim off and check that the actuator power wires are still attached. I would have thought that you could physically lock the door with the key though! Might be worth checking that it hasn't let go of the rods or that the rods aren't stuck on something?
  13. Autospeed article suggests that it's a good idea. They measured the surface area of a few standard intake ducts and snorkels, and concluded that there is a bottleneck on most systems. The other benefit was that the second one could be ducted to an area where more cool air is available, while keeping it looking stock. They measured the pressure loss before and after, and even at idle the pressure loss was reduced. I just can't find a good way to do it on a stock R33 setup.... without making new holes.
  14. Was helping my gf's dad with his VT Commodore two nights ago. Ran into problems. Long story short, no main fuse! I thought it was odd, but he said he never had one there. Still doesn't, and our problem lay elsewhere in the end. Go figure?
  15. Sometimes means Cash On Demand... but... dunno. "R33 - Gts Front Plastic On Dash With Hazards, Clock and Vents (Will Not Separate) $70" Where in Sydney are ya? Please PM me or email me with photos? [email protected]
  16. Oh well there you go! Stickie this shiz!
  17. when you corner hard, i'm sure it reaches below half on one side of the sensor. =-]
  18. Not sure mate... see if they can look up a 300zx part though... might be the same part number
  19. Won't. Ignitor is built into the ECU on S2, ignitor is on coil pack cover on S1.
  20. lol! Indeed. If my button is pressed to unlock the door, my alarm will go off. They should all work like this... didn't yours go off, 40Ed?
  21. A pulsar pocket is probably what you need to ask for. Although the 300zx pocket fits too!
  22. Ditto with the heat concerns. I'm sure there's a reason why the lows don't stay on with the highs.
  23. Apparently you can snip the wire that unlocks the passenger door. That, or cover it up. Stuff it with cotton, then tape over it. Not elegant, but it'd stop a coathanger!
  24. Maybe a gift voucher from JBHifi or something? Would make your life easier! Not as personal though... I have a Kenwood KDC6029, which retails for around $350 I think. Blue/purple lighting, 2 pairs of RCA outs, optional iPod cable, plays mp3's from CD... and not too difficult to operate. My gf is now "sole owner of the remote" in my car. ;o) Pity her iPod is too old to support modern connections. (first gen)
  25. Read this thread, i'm sure I posted it in here somewhere? And yeah, it lights up a really bright orange. I thought it'd be like a ceiling globe, but it's not. With the blue caps? I don't know. I've never seen it. I removed the caps to change my dead globes, but they were melted on and ripped without any real effort. This is why i'm hunting for the blue silicone globe caps. I replaced the light in the hazzard button, and it had a tiny blue cap on it, but it lights up a really nice white. I'm hoping that's the deal with the AC unit too. I'll keep you posted here, cause I should be receiving a whole AC unit to stuff around with.
