  1. The actual bulb part can be bought from dick smiths. I bought some instore and some from their online store. I bought twice because I didn't realise how orange they'd look without the blue caps. Suffice to say, i'm looking for the blue caps now.
  2. I have an AutoWatch system... http://www.autowatch.com.au/product.asp Lock On Ignition X X X X X Unlock On Ignition X X X X X Dunno if this is door lock? Mine's not set up to do it. What kind of alarm do you currently have? I suspect with mine it's a matter of having the option turned on.
  3. Who didn't pick up on that? Any way of you finding out what kind of alarm you had previously? Sounds like you were more than happy with your old setup.
  4. A mate had a squeal/knock in the front passenger side. Ended up being a bush somewhere up front that was tight. I think maybe the swaybar bush? The inside is supposed to allow the bar to swivel, and if it's dry the rubber just grabs. Some grease fixed that.
  5. wow. Looks identical to another thread I saw 7 months back. It was an R32, and people said it was common. Ripped in exactly the same place. That whole piece would be clipped in, but do some more searching, cause I don't remember the correct procedure.
  6. Yeah, listen to Fhrx and Chris Rojers... i'm by far no expert on the SQ of specific drivers. =-]
  7. That's worthy for the "commonly asked questions" thread. I've seen a lot of people ask about the pinouts on AFMs.
  8. The two boxes are crossovers to seperate high frequencies to the tweeters.
  9. You can help me install my Dynamat. ;o) I'll be making MDF rings soon, if you're interested in a set?
  10. Scrap the bleedvalve, get a ball and spring boost controller from the Mark through the forums or his ebay shop. $30-something bucks. I have the GTT cooler, stock exhaust, and controller running a constant 7psi. Going up to 9-10 psi when the exhaust gets sorted, and after I mount a temp probe in my intake system. What you want to do should be perfectly fine for winter, but it's during summer that you will want to make sure you aren't getting excessive knock and high intake temps.
  11. I recken with the aftermarket HU surround plate, you could fibreglass it to the right size? Might want to get a pro to do it for you... i'm not sure how much it would cost, but it's not a huge piece of work.
  12. If you haven't done it before, and you don't want to risk doing it this time, look for someone reputable and who is a specialist (like Chris) in your area to do the install. You might pay more money, but you'll get a more professional opinion on what will sound right, and what you should use. (e.g: mdf rings/pods instead of plastic ones) Battery cables should be quite thick, so get an auto sparky to replace the stockers with 4-guage or something. New terminal clamps are a good idea too.
  13. lol... well you have a few defectable items there already, so in theory you could just completely remove all the honeycomb from the cat, but it's illegal and I wouldn't suggest it for an onroad car. Better off saving for an xforce 3" large body cat. They're about $300 from JustJap, and have the cat sensor thread in them already.
  14. Agreed. I don't think there's any possible way for powersteering fluid to get into anywhere where the water normally goes (head etc).
  15. Mine didn't have a restrictor when I removed it and put the manual controller on? Good to hear you got it sorted!
  16. What kind of interesting results?
  17. Hey mate, what do you want for: * The surrounds of the inner door handles * The mirror sails (plastic bit that covers the inside of the electric mirrors) * The drivers window control panel, without the buttons. * The front speaker pods, both left and right * Both top and bottom steering column covers (and screws) * The dash surround (around stereo and guages, the whole big piece) * The shifter surround * The ashtray * The coilpack cover, and all the allen-bolts Cheers!
  18. I have a single 12" and the JayCar 4x100w response amp. The 12 has TONS of bass (too much if you turn the gain up much). Still, my old amp gave the same kind of power... The JayCar amp fits next to the battery behind the battery false wall, which is handy, but a 12" or two 12's will completely fill your boot. =-[
  19. may? It's defectable, so borrow a friends box and snorkel.
  20. Ring Nissan? Or don't bother? Flashy badges get stolen... if not advertise more value of your car to a potential theif. =-[
  21. lol yeah! Makes fibreglassing LOOK easy, but i'm still not going to try it!
  22. Well... my first car, a VK Commodore had the same kind of setup. The glass lens was held on by metal/brass kind of clips. I got them all off, cleaned in and out, then tried to put them back on. The clips were so tight, that when I got to the third one, it snapped on hard and cracked the entire lens. From top to bottom. Got a better one from the wreckers in the end. So if you try it, bear in mind that you run the risk of making them worse. If the crack goes all the way through the glass, there is nothing you can do to repair it, as far as I know. If it's just surface marks, you might have to use a cut and polish or some sandpaper then polish.
  23. Not sure if mods will allow an external URL, but for car audio tips and making custom pods and stuff out of fibreglass, check: www.caraudioaustralia.com There are plenty of tutorials on how to do it properly.
  24. AFAIK, the handbrake light will only ever come on with your handbrake, or with low brake fluid. EDIT: On R32's... I don't know if it happens on 33's the same way. EDIT: Fixed typo, cause i'm pedantic!
  25. lol. Told ya =-p
