  1. Usually they take over someone else's account, then tells you to email the scammer at a different email address. Plus it's usually $8000 that they list them for. I'll bet Blitz is correct though, it is probably dodgy. Ask if you can view the car pre-auction close... that will tell for sure!
  2. Seach for "Bearing Industries".. there was a thread around here not long ago that I got the number from. Idler and tensioner can be bought from them. The belts came from AutoOne, with a mate's discount card, so it came in cheaper than normal. Timing belt came from Nissan.
  3. I can't remember why exactly, but I was always under the impression that dishwashing liquid was extremely bad to use on paint/clear?
  4. That's the horn for sure. Looks like that on almost every modern car. (cept when you upgrade it to musical air-horns! toot toot!)
  5. Idler/tensioner cost me under $100 Timing belt was about $70 3xdrivebelts was just under $100 Didn't do waterpump, but I did coolant, oil, oil filter, fuel filter.... Adjustable cam gear can cost $150 new (near me), but I didn't get one in time. =-[
  6. I think there's a bung thingy on the block, just above the oil filter, as he says. The drainage bung for the cooling system is on the other side of the block though, so I dunno what this other one would be for, but if it's just a plug, then I wouldn't imagine much. Unless you're saying that there is a hole around the plug? If the plug itself is damaged, but removeable, i'm sure you'd have change from a $20. Can you take a pic? It's possible that someone with experience knows exactly what you're talking about, but I can't picture it.
  7. Make sure you find the correct thread on a bolt and bung the hole in the cat up!
  8. OK no drama's. I was going to chuck one in while we were changing the timing belt... I might buy a new one tomorrow because time is running out. Thanks!
  9. clock and hazard switches arrived. I'll leave you some feedback once i've fitted them. Cheers!
  10. Hey mate! Where are you located? If in Sydney, are you willing to seperate or should I make an offer and get just the part I need? Cheers!
  11. Manual? Both reverse lights not coming on? Might need to check the reversing switch that screws onto the gearbox. It may need replacing infact. It is on the drivers side of the box, and up the side. You need to take off the gearbox mount and have the box on a jack so you can move it to the side to change the damn thing. My lights weren't working at all until I changed it.
  12. Hey mate! If the exhaust cam wheel is in good condition, i'll offer the $120 if it includes shipping to Sydney! Please PM me if this is acceptable. Cheers!
  13. If power steering pump is not leaky or noisy, please PM me with rough price? Cheers!
  14. How much for clock and demister/hazard panel? Please PM me price? Ta!
  15. Great guide! I'll have to undertake this soon! My AUTO lights up on the window-control panel, no probs... Hours and Minutes (and reset) do not light up, and they probably shouldn't unless anyone can say otherwise?
  16. Thanks for asking for me, Dan! Neither my demister or hazard lights up, and I was thinking that they should!
  17. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, Dan! I can measure up for you if you still want confirmation, but I found today that my castor bushes are completely stuffed, and will need replacing. I'm going to head up a new post asking for the part numbers, cause searching doesn't give me any joy.
  18. [Deleted by PranK] - Read the rules before posting again.
  19. Interested also, if it fits the above mentioned car. Please PM if Richard doesn't take it, and you're in Sydney.
  20. Could even be the idler or tensioner not adjusted onto the belt properly, so it's slapping around as it turns. This, or either of those two bearings could be worn and noisy. I'm doing my timing belt, drivebelts, idler and tensioner in two weeks time... well, my mate will do most of it because he's done it a couple of times before. =-]
  21. I get 350, as everyone has heard in the 02 sensor thread. If my tyres are slightly deflated (one of them has a slow leak) i'll get 320 to a 50L fill. Normally I make sure they're all at 42psi... might want to try running that sort of pressure? (i'm on standard rims/tyre) My wheel alignment is spot on, drives straight as anything and doesn't pull with the grooves in the road. I'm still hunting for that ever-elusive 400km mark though!
  22. Guys, yes, we still do meets, and it's all organised on the SRCD forums: http://srandy.com:82 That URL is temporary until the proper domain name is usable. Meets, and RC drift discussion happens here. We were in Bankstown two weeks ago! Next meet will probably be on the Northern Beaches, then somewhere halfway between Bankstown and the NB. We're also looking at doing an event at Windsor RC track, and possibly entering in this years AutoSalon RC drift. Check our forums!
  23. I think the "clunk" noise means that it's working, because mine will do it with ignition, and also if I press the seatbelt release button. Oh, and there is a definate change in resistance... I think when the new compliance rules came out, the seatbelts had to be changed, whereas mine has the original jap belts according to the tag.
  24. ...and costs $28 each from Nissan apparently. There is a big thread on this already. "Grain Of Wheat" is the name of the globe. The pigtail leads comming off it simply unwind from the base. The silicone boot can be bought seperately if needed. Dick Smith online store has the globes, cheap and with free shipping. (yes, got three globes for $1.28, and it shipped to me for free) The silicone boot I haven't bought yet, but www.narva.com.au have a listing for them. With the globes as they are, my buttons light up a bright orange, and it looks pretty crappy next to my head unit! =-/
  25. I did it on my last car (Berlina V8). I didn't notice any difference in the A/C efficiency, but I don't see why it can't help? My lines were thin metal pipes that went from the gas cylinder to the A/C compressor and condenser. Heck... why not!? =-]
