  1. When I was shopping around, I noticed that this is an incompatibility thing. I saw alarms that allowed turbo timers to be wired to them, and turbo timers that allowed alarms to operate in conjunction with each other. That said, I don't know what the workaround is, or whether your gear is compatible, but it could simply be a wiring thing. Might want to ring a Black Widow installer and ask if your model alarm can work with a TT.
  2. Oh, and read the sticky at the top of this category called "F.a.q – Maintenance, Guides, And Issues/problems - Model Specific & General. " Stuff like.. moisture in the tail-light... I guess that is reasonably common for a car of its age.
  3. Nothing that is a "common problem" as far as I know. One minor, minor thing though.. the A/C buttons usually don't light up because of dead bulbs. No biggie really. There is a good thread on what to check for in a turbo car... full of stuff like loading it up, switching it off and then starting it again immediately. Check it out, it's a sticky somewhere.
  4. By "back it off"... it appears that rotating it will drive the rod into the master cylinder more, and thusly give the pedal some freeplay before it pushes on it. Is this what you mean? I'm quite keen to give this a try! Any tips for doing this? I had a pair of multigrips on the gripped part of the rod, but it didn't want to turn. Do I need to remove the master cylinder first or anything? (or was it just the hyrdrolic pressure stopping me from winding it in?) Cheers!
  5. SUPA-FLY? =-p Nice work though! Hey Chris, what was the bulb that came out? I haven't replaced mine (only one faulty) yet. When I had the bulbs out I was doing my headunit and didn't have spare bulbs on me at the time. Could you read off the text off the old bulb or take a photo of it next to a 5c piece? Cheers!
  6. Strip it all out, I say! Pull your spare tyre out, and make sure you don't have a tyre-iron lying underneath it or something.
  7. Picture for me please!
  8. Dan, Dezz and RANDY all looking for the same damn thing. =-] Almost every post, I see you two! The race for R33 S2 power is on!
  9. Nopers.. should be able to start it straight away. If anything, it should be EASIER to start than when it's cold. I'd guess that your overfuelling is flooding it when it switches off? Needs to be leaned out in any case from what you describe.
  10. AutoWatch in Sydney do a nice top-of-the-line model that covers 3 points. Has glass detection, shock detection, boot/bonnet/door detection and is certified for insurance. Should cost around $500.
  11. LOL =-D Nissan Australia mechanics don't really work on many Skylines, since there were only 100 R32's ever delivered to Australia. The rest are all imports and people find GOOD mechanics to work on them.
  12. Kinda like tuning a lawnmower, eh Security? ;o)
  13. My kenwood has the wire, but I didn't use it. It's not that bright to annoy me. It also has an ATT/Dim button, so check that, Dan! Usually one press is ATT (quiet), and holding it down will dim the display.
  14. Jetpilot: no worries mate! I would suspect that one would blow, then the other would go later, then when the car is imported here, they're both dead. =-] Craved: Just remove the unit like you would the head unit, and then on the back there are two holes on either side. In those holes are the back of the globe-holder. Use a flat-head scewdriver and unscrew! Then pop them out and all you need to do is buy the globes. I'd suggest getting a 1.2watt bulb instead of 1.4watt if you're not using those rubber caps. It should not be too bright, and shouldn't melt anything if you drop the wattage.
  15. I know roughly what to do, but getting it perfect is a fine art. The laser temp gun is exactly what Security needs to tune his up!
  16. Hell, bring it anyway!
  17. In any case, whether you're drifing or not, you're more than welcome. The more the merrier, and you might get the tang for RC doorifto! =-]
  18. OOps! I thought that was a 1:10 scale! All you need to drift easily is PVC tyres. I.E, tyres that are cut from a pvc pipe. If you can find PVC the right size, your mini z could drift no worries! Is it 4wd??
  19. heh.. I would have bought it if it was $500 anytime =-[
  20. Dun forget, if you're keen on the RC drifting scene, you can reg on my new forums at http://srandy.com:82 URL soon to be: http://sydneyrcdrifters.com:82 Cheers! =-D
  21. Thanks, Dan! Maybe next meet, depending on where your house and this... basket-ball house?... is. Mr 32: it's a drift day, so i'd recommend you bring your drifter instead of the buggy... unless you're drifting the buggy? (few are!)
  22. Security In Motion also installed my 475 premium AutoWatch alarm. Has the turbo timer as Leon said. It's preset though, so you have to specify how long you want it. Mine was set at 90 seconds which is perfect for me.
  23. Double check that antenna dude... Like Bunta said, it is REALLY hard to push into the headunit usually. You think it's in, then you eat some spinach and push again, and it goes a whole lot further in. I did this again recently when putting a headunit in my girlfriends car (goodbye tape-deck and manual radio knobs!), and the metal part of the antenna plug just about completely disappeared into the back of the head unit. That said, her reception is still better than my Skylines. Might want to get a multimeter onto the antenna plug, and then touch the end coming out of the adapter to test its continuity. (while it's disconnected and powered off). Test compared to touching the two probes of the multimeter together directly, and test the inner and outer part of the antenna cable.
  24. Skybee has a great point that I thought was too obvious to point out. The head unit should be grounded to the body, and you should never have to splice into another wire for anything. And when I said "try replacing the ground wire", I should add; "with a much thicker one". =-]
  25. If you search, there's a thread in here about it. More than likely, your bulbs have blown. There are two.. one does half a side of buttons. They are a normal globe in a swanky socket that Nissan wants $18 each for. The globes have blue rubber caps on them to make the colour a light blue/green. This also helps kill the globes in hot summer heat. There is a guide here, and on the Silvia forums on how to convert your globe sockets into LED globes, which shouldn't blow.
