  1. The rebuild is all done? Didn't do the resleaving or whatever it was called?
  2. Yeah no worries mate! It's not going to be easy to cater for everyone each time, so I expect that people from out west will find it hard to come over. =-]
  3. I don't think anyone has planned to go to the track, but i'm going to suggest: Sunday the 19th at Curl Curl netball courts. (Northern Beaches) I will go down and check it out to make sure there isn't a ton of netball games on, but when there is, there is usually a court free. It's easy to access and quite smooth for asphalt. We'll just meet up and muck around without any track (unless someone brings some), and if it is successful, i'll look to organise something more proper for the next meet! (which could be somewhere else too!) Please post IN or OUT for midday Sunday 19th meet at the above location!
  4. Well, thanks for the reply anyway! Someone got a bargain!
  5. wow.. just looked at the pics... it's not a particularly tight track, is it? I'm not sure how it'd go for drifting, but i'd definately give it a try! Last time I got a drift session on a track was during a "dinner break" of a club meet when they weren't using the track.
  6. It's a solid hour drive for me, but if eveyone is serious about proper drifting on a track, i'll happily pay the money. Members have keys, but are they allowed to invite their friends in? Thanks for the info, Chris!
  7. LOL! I do the same damn thing! I stop and say "oh, I need another part" and then i'm back on shift and have to work. =-[
  8. Post up your VIN, and I can look it up in FAST. Otherwise, i'm sure someone knows it off the top of their head. (they always do!)
  9. I can have a go, sure. I'm not as expert as my nitro-racing friends, but it shouldn't be too hard to tune it up. An infra-red temperature gun comes in handy though! I'm guessing that you're running pretty smokey even on WOT?
  10. A slightly cheaper hobby? ;op (join the club!)
  11. Chris: No worries man! My lady was the one getting pissed off, not me =-] Steve: Wicked! Sunday in a week or two sounds like a go. Security: You can adjust your fuelling, there should be an idle screw, and a mixture screw. I beleive your glow plug should sit around 100-120 degrees celcius... so possibly yours is running quite cold with that extra fuel going through. Same thing as getting the AFR's right on a PFC I guess... once you lean it out a little, you'll get heaps more gogo!
  12. I'm also interested in what is in the box. So all the synchro's are fine now, what sort of clutch is in it? Cheers -Steve
  13. Sec: nps! Steve: no saturdays or sunday days?
  14. 1) Why!?? 2) I don't think so, the wiring harness will be different, almost guaranteed. You may just have to cut and crimp up the wires like any other stereo. =-]
  15. I was looking into it ages ago... From what i've read, it's a case of wiring up a new relay, one that switches off under a certain amount of resistance. That, or a secondary piece of electronics that will shut power off to the motor when it detects more resistance. Sounds like a messy trial-and-error thing with lots of splicing into wiring looms etc. =-[
  16. lol! So i'll count you in as "interested"?
  17. Why does this not fit a series 2 33? What is the difference?
  18. Oh ok! The club was active, so I dunno if it was the new or old, but if you could double-check it, that would be great!
  19. LOL =-]
  20. Yep... there is a bloke from the canberra rc drift forums who is in lane cove. He's organising for thurs/fri night (i'm working till 7.30PM those nights). He mentions that he has "track material". I will try and contact him and the sydney people on those forums and possibly organise to go to lane cove and meet up. Would be good!
  21. yer wife has an RC? Wicked =-] Well... homebush is fine with me too... as long as there's enough people there, and we have some form of track. Places like Homebush usually have security guards that will move you along, and I don't think they'll take kindly to us setting up a makeshift track =-[
  22. OK... Castle Hill raceway is a slab of concrete until the club people turn up on Fridays and lay the track down. There'd be a fee and no nitro, stock motor rules, and no drifting. Looks like we're going to have to bring stuff to make a track when we meet! Power extension cables work well... they're heavy enough not to move when the wind picks up, but you have to reposition them when someone comes off. What do you all think about meeting at Curl Curl netball courts with a bunch of crap to make a track? I'd guess a Saturday or Sunday would suit most?
  23. Oh.. spent an hour driving out to Asquith... found the bowls club, found the soccer field... found one of the greens was made out of asphalt. No track though. The asphalt was loose gravel and not even good for normal onroad races. =-[
  24. You're talking full-on pro's though.. i'm talking "have a bit of fun drifting", which should read something like this!: Chassis: HPI or Tamiya $200 Motors: Venom Fireball 13, 15 or 17 turn $30 ESC: Comes with the chassis Transmittor: Comes with the chassis Servo: Comes with the chassis Batteries: Venom 3000mAh $29 each Charger: $100 tops for a digital one Power supply: wtf? Tools: alen keys, tyre wrench, screwdriver. Come with the chassis Tyres: rims come with the chassis, PVC is next to free Bodies: yeah, if you change it, otherwise; comes with the chassis So... $360 for the lot with one battery and one motor That's affordable for just having fun without going hardcore =-]
  25. If you're interested, see my post in my sig! =-]
