  1. If you're interested, see my post in my sig! =-]
  2. Thanks for the info, but I can't find anything on it. =-[
  3. lol! That's a bit TOO keen! Now... how do I mount this mini-sub into the back of my RC...? ;op
  4. Heh... yeah, I get back into it now and then. It takes my mind off what I want to do to my REAL car, so I spend money on RC stuff instead.... and it's a whole lot cheaper! =-D
  5. A track track? If you could post a photo, it'd be much appreciated!
  6. I can't find the track info on that website?
  7. And here's some proof that a buggy and a nitro can drift, but they're both 4wd. These are the netball courts that I used to go to with my mates. As you can see, the track is made out of power cable, and a few bottles of various liquids. Kinda boring now. I apologise for my mates camera-work... it gives me a headache! Netball Courts (2.08Mb XVID)
  8. Here's a vid I made a couple of days ago, for those of you who haven't put PVC on your RC wheels before. Driveway Drift! (2.56Mb XVID)
  9. Yeah, there's tons of nice smooth places... but i want a track for proper controlled drift! Like I said, there's tons of netball courts, which will have no issues with landlords or security, but no track! We'll keep it as an option though =-]
  10. hahahha! I tested this! Once I had these crappy speakers out, and cleaned up all the dodgy wiring, I threw the boxes clear across the lawn. I'd rate them good for "up to 30km/hr" =-]
  11. www.autowatch.com.au alarms are great! If you call, they'll give you the number of one of their installers close to you. My guy was good, and did a neat, clean job. I'm still looking now and then to see where in heck he put the damn thing! Talk about well-hidden!
  12. lol! Moot knows where it's at! CA glue never came off like that for me! That HPI shell is the one that i'm ordering! Got a Porsche shell ATM.
  13. Cool! Paul: Yeah man... your buggy will drift with PVC tyres! Take a rear and a front wheel off, go into a hardware store, and find some PVC that *just* fits over your rims. Measure the widths of the rims, cut it up, wrap tape around the rim, and wedge the PVC over it. Getting your rubber tyres off might be an issue... from memory yours are glued on? (they're supposed to be) GTRL: Drifting with PVC tyres on a RWD car is next to impossible, but it'll be fun to watch anyway! I'm leaning towards the netball courts in Curl Curl if there is no track to go on. I'm going to sus out St Ives onroad today!
  14. AaronMine's electric... but depending on where we go, nitro shouldn't be a problem! All you really need is an onroad 4wd car, with tweakable suspension and camber (re-positioning the shocks) and some PVC. Wrap tape around a bare rim until the PVC goes on quite tight, and there you have it! For the 4wd aspect, belt or shaft shouldn't matter. I'll post some vids up of my car. I'm sorting out an R34GTR shell at the moment.
  15. "The In-Door on-road Due to falling numbers and problems with hiring the hall the inDoor racing is suspended until further notice" nuts. =-/ I hope that's out of date!
  16. christ... there's an indoor one there?? I've never seen it! I've done the offroad one a few times, and i've been to heaps of markets at the grounds there... but i've never seen a track! Do you remember if it was open to public all the time, or if you had to book or pay when you turn up or anything? This could be perfect for a drift day!
  17. First post updated... I've emailed Castle Hill raceway to see if it's open to the public on non race-days. Looks to be a nice track, smooth, and has ripple-strips. I'd be happy to get a bunch of people up there for some fun... the netball courts would require rope or PVC halves to make a track.
  18. non-standard? Can they really do you for that? What if yours broke, and it was replaced with something made at an exhaust shop, because there are no more genuine spares left? I thought they could only defect you if they suspect that yours is too loud? In which case you must go and get it tested, and clear the defect.
  19. Ah yeah... Castle Hill has onroad events too... Bike track? I go to the Terry Hills bike track... lol! Got some great videos of the action! The jumps are between 1 and 2 meters high!
  20. Yuk man! That track is HORRIBLE! If you want a well-maintained offroad track, with BIG jumps, and a table-top, North Ryde is the place to go! I've competed with the North Shore RC club a few times in the 1/10th modified truck rounds (and won a few times!) with my HPI RS4 MT... pictured below with road-tyres on it.
  21. Well... I used to go to Curl Curl netball courts... no fences, just smooth bitumen. They play netball on Saturdays I beleive, and it's completely bare on Sundays.
  22. Electric, Nitro, newbie, old car... doesn't matter! I just want to go out and have fun with others, and prolly video tape a bunch of it. (got wireless cam) Hopefully we can get enough people together to make some kind of make-shift track! =-] Please also post the dates that you are free.
  23. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in meeting for an RC drift day (or few hours) sometime? CONFIRMED FOR SUNDAY 19th , 12PM at Curl Curl Netball Courts: Me - HPI Sprint Paul - Electric buggy Steve-o - Tamiya TL-01 Mr 32 - Nitro buggy Kaza - Nitro w/Skyline shell Satanic - Prolly filming for us! Mitch_Rona - qwrx - Electric w/WRX shell gnif - spectating
  24. if you give us your VIN, we can look up your paint code. i.e: ECR33 114098 (mine)
  25. Mine weren't... if they're kenwood, they won't be standard I don't think. Mine were the Kenwood surface-mount boxes, but the tweeter was cut, the mid was missing, and the woofer was replaced with Pioneer 3-way speakers. And they were half broken too. =-///
