  1. Shows how bored I am at work... rather than telling you to press all the buttons, hold down all the buttons, and play with the dials, i'm searching for a manual! http://www.alpine.co.jp/alpine/owners/oml_index2.html Japan is the only site that holds manuals... from there it's all dynamic and the URL doesn't change. Hahaha!! Here it is... in Japanese =-p http://www.alpine.co.jp/alpine/owners/oml_...da-9835j_om.pdf
  2. Once apon a time it existed here: http://www.alpine.com.au/downloads/product/CDA-9835.pdf But there is no more download section.
  3. Ummm.... www.alpine.com takes me to the global site, and www.alpine.com.au takes me to the Australian site. If you search for your model, it comes up with details, but no manual.
  4. To clarify (for the Sylvia owners) I meant that it's worse in the sense that it's less similar to a Silvia than a GTR, and thusly the badge is even more ridiculous on this car.
  5. yeah man... you took a pic to laugh at me! =-[ I don't know why it's on there... I've managed to scratch the playboy bunny off the rear licence plate, but I have to get it off the front one, and get rid of that stupid Silvia badge! I'm so ashamed! I think that's worse than putting a GTR badge on a GTST =-]
  6. Here we go... just a rough shot.
  7. <- Got that thing about two months ago. =-D How you been man?
  8. Most cruisers use a 0.5Watt Uniden handheld that takes 3 AA batteries. Should be around $80, but I think they have come down, and there was a two-pack for around $100
  9. SIK! =-] Oh well, noone ever minded me tagging along wih my Skyline buddies when I drove a Holden....
  10. May very well come along.. i'm on the Northern Beaches, and it'll be my first SAU cruise IN A SKYLINE! =-D (no more white Berlina)
  11. Well stuff *me*! =-o The globes DO come out eh? Shouldn't be too hard to source the right replacement globes for the holders then! If I find the time, i'll pull them out this week and also let you know how it goes, Steve.
  12. I found it! There's a little button on your driver door... if you press it, the window goes down! I'm just kidding man, sorry =-]
  13. I heard that the R34 GTT turbo is slightly larger, has a plastic/nylon compressor wheel, and is a "wet" ball bearing design. R33's apparently have a ceramic compressor wheel, and are not ball-bearing? Feel free to correct me!
  14. double post! =-o
  15. Hey mate. Would you have: (all in great condition) Manual gearknob $? Parcel shelf (inc pods) $? Manual gearshift surround (inc leather boot) $? Or did that AndyGTR guy take the whole interior including those items? Thanks!
  16. I see now, ta! I got a little screwed up with the model. DL or DS, not D on its own. That's fine though man, cheers! *coughfreebumpcough*
  17. The DIN pocket that you're selling... from Sony?
  18. I could see you heading that way, Chris =-] The only reason I didn't suggest changing the HU is because all the speakers are being driven by the two amps, so unplugging the RCA would just kill all the speakers... unless the HU has two pairs of RCA outs? =-] Glad to hear you got it sorted!
  19. I mean even for an R33 DIN hole =-] How much was it again?
  20. Well... I thought it was a package thing, but I guess not now, because most of them i've seen come with a Sigma 55-70mm lens. Can you dig up a body-only price for me first? I'll decide on the lenses later. Thanks, Stan!
  21. Stan... next time you're in, Pentax istD or istL price on body+lens package please? Ta!
  22. Satanic, I have seen them... if it's the ones I've seen then they are two units, one with a no-name screen, that connects up to a no-name head unit that plays DVDs, CD,s etc... I was looking to go down this path, but how often do you carry DVD's in the car and actually watch them? Meh! I bought an mp3 player, rewired the whole rig, and got an aftermarket DIN slot for my smokes and mobile. (same as my old car had). To be honest, the aftermarket DIN pockets don't fit too nicely and I had to do some dremel-modding to make it screw in nicely. I'd be more inclined in the future to try getting a genuine pocket from Nissan that apparently is used on Pulsars etc. That, or buy the pocket that you had for sale, Stan! I kinda wish I had seen it first... it looks like it'd fill a DIN hole perfectly!
  23. Well... i'm out of ideas sorry. The only other thing that i'd want to try is to hook up (any old) car speaker directly to the HU and see if it has issues too. I beleive there's something like 2 Volts going out your RCA's, so if they have sprung a cut in the shielding then perhaps it's grounding on the car body somewhere? That test would rule that out, but either way man... let us know what you find when the issue is resolved! =-]
  24. cookie: From what I can see, I just need to play with or replace one of the two to get the other half of the panel going. Sumo: yep! I took pics when I was doing it... will attach thanks! Pic 1: The AC unit in an R33. the recycled air and demister have their own individual green bulb/LED for the little rectangle which lights up green when pressed. Pic 2: The rear of the unit. There is one bulb here, and one on the other side. There is a groove on the rear of the bulb which accommodates a flat-head screwdriver just nicely. Unscrew, flip unit, and out it comes. Check your contacts and bend the metal of the bulb out a bit if it looks like it has "unsprung" itself over time. This has fixed one of the two for me purely by accident. Pic 3: The bulb and rubber cap. If that doesn't insulate heat, I don't know what does! The buttons are not super-bright to begin with... I may try peeling the rubber off the working one to see how bright it will go. Sure it'll be white instead of a light blue, but who cares? I can see my buttons! ($10 if you find a 4-leaf clover)
  25. So... the remote wire from the HU... is that getting split into two to trigger both amps? Like Chris says, and you beleive, it could be the HU if one amp on its own will still have the effect. How well grounded is the HU? I ran the grounding cable to one of the screws that hold the frame of the manual shifter into the body. (ran wire through cigarette lighter wiring loom)
