  1. I'd really like to see a real world comparison of the 023 and the 040. The 023 flows 168l/h at 5 bar and the 040 flows 102 at 6.5 bar but that is in no way a fair comparison of the 2 pumps. What does the 040 flow at 5 bar then?
  2. OK I'll re-word it. How many reliable RPM will a new RB26 N1 head with tomei 260 degree poncams and tomei type A valve springs handle? The stock rev limit is about 8000 I think so it's gotta be more than that. 9000?
  3. That's why i said "if required further down the track" It's a brand new N1 long engine. Does it still need valve guides even though the ones in it are new?
  4. My mate's building up his RB26 N1 engine for streetable response and obviously as much power as possible. He already has GT2860R -5 turbos and Tomei 260 degree in and ex poncams. He's about to put a 2.7L JUN kit in it and the usual metal head gasket etc. etc. and just wondering what is required for the head to handle 10000rpm if required further down the track. Obviously valve springs. What else? Cheers
  5. My mate ha the same problem after popping off a cooler pipe ran like shit and barely idled. Took it for a good hard 10 minute fang and it was good as gold.
  6. +1 for 5w-30 too thin for a modified. If I were you, I'd be running Motul 300V Chrono 10W-40.
  7. What the bollocks were you thinking letting your mate BOUNCE OFF THE LIMITER, UNTUNED on 20PSI??????? U shouldn't even drive on boost AT ALL untuned let alone on 20psi!
  8. I was thinkin the same! HOLY SHIT! Go 275/30 next time or get smaller rims!
  9. That's a LOT easier said than done! U've gotta melt out what's left of the squashed oem bushes, press the surrounding 'ring' out and get a new set pressed in. If u'r gonna do all that, I'd put a set of noltec subframe bushes in (not just pineapples). The noltecs will be noisier than stock tho, but probably not as loud as with pineapples.
  10. Circumference of the standard 245/45R17 = 2049mm Circumference of 275/35R18 = 2041mm - Very close Circumference on 265/35R18 = 2019mm - Too small Circumference of 265/40R18 = 2102mm - Too big
  11. No probs at all mate. A completely stock GTR will handle that no probs.
  12. A lot longer than other diffs. 1) Because as they wear, you can adjust the preload to compensate and 2) they have a lower overall clamping force on the clutches than other diffs.
  13. Not at all. I'm on the circlip that it came with and have 3 or 4 more to go lower. I just want to lower it one more clip. Also, I'm guessing it would help that the flatout springs are stiffer than the controls which will help to not bottom out a bit. Front: It's an S14. Mcpherson strut. Non-adjustable height.
  14. I'm really wanting my car to sit a bit lower than it sits at the moment with the sydneykid road kit. I was thinking of changing the front control springs to flatout springs and lowering the rear spring retainer by one notch on the bilstein shock. At the moment, i never, ever hit the bump stops up front and very occasionally do on the rear under acceleration with 2 ppl in the back under acceleration but I can chop a bit off the bumpstop and be more careful if i lower it. I already have 2 camber kits on the rear so my rear camber will still be OK. Are there any problems I should expect doing this? Cheers, Brad
  15. Do u mean compression lock is a bitch on a 1.5way compared to a viscous diff or compared to a 2way? If anyone wants a nice quiet streetable diff, go no further than a Nismo GT LSD Pro TT-Model 1.5way. It's the 'softer' model than the rest.
  16. Aaah! So all manual turbo R33's ARE 4.11:1! The only reason I was confused was because you told me 3.79 toffy. Cheers for the clarification.
  17. As far as outer diameter goes, 275/35R18 will be closer to the correct outer diameter than 265/35R18.
  18. I can confirm that they ARE around the right way for RDA rotors. I installed mine as per the L and R and mine rake backwards like the ones in the pic.
  19. Interested to know why stray so far from stock in outer diameter on the rears. Why did U get 285/40R18 instead of 285/35?
  20. What do mean by rod ratio? U mean length of rod : the stroke of the crank?
  21. What is the exact diff ratio of an R33 GTS-T? I know it's 4.1:1 but there are 2 common ratios that are both referred to as 4.1:1. There is 4.0833 which will have 49:12 stamped on the crown wheel and then there is 4.1111 which will have 37:9 stamped on the crown wheel. Which one is it? Cheers, Brad
