  1. Hey chaps, I'm going to prob contribute to this thread a fair bit moving forward. Just got some new equipment and going to give it a crack. Bought a Canon 7D on the weekend, and been playing around with it. I use Premier Pro and After Effects at the moment. Been playiong around with adding solid eliptical layers then using subtract to get that "cinema effect" where its blacked out in the corners. Then added an adjustment layer on top for color correction, mainly for hue/saturation. I have lowered the Hue to -50 in this video. The one thing I've learnt since doing this video is that slowing down footage recorded at 1920x1080 @ 30fps is rubbish. I've since lowered the resolution to 1280x720, but shooting at 60fps, which, when thrown through after effects, and you've split the clip and applied TimeWarp to the portion you want slowed, that it becomes much more clearer, and less jumpy. Gives that true "Slow Motion" effect. In the below video, I think I buggered up when rendering, as I applied the adjustment layer at a smaller resolution, giving me that line at the bottom of the film that appears "unedited". Lesson learnt. I also think that the oval effect comes out too strong in this video. It doesn't "blend" into the footage, and its very clear that its a layer thats been added on, so I need to have a play around and figure out how to blend the oval a bit better, in conjunction with the other correction layers. http://vimeo.com/60365702 Pezhead - Awesome rig mate. Did you buy one of those generic eBay kits then just build up from that? Thats a pretty sweet follow focus setup you have there. I have been looking at this kit on eBay, but it doesn't appear to have the over-the-shoulder counter weight. I'm sure being a 15mm setup, that you could add it on later. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/190741604559?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_6086wt_1163 The other thing i've been doing a bit of research on is this new CamRanger item. It basically links into the 7D, and provides a wifi hotspot, which you then download an app on your iPad, and hook into the CamRanger peripheral It supports live view when shooting film, and I think adding this onto the rig, and knocking up an iPad support bracket will tremendously increase the quality of the footage, especially since its live, you can adjust focus by just touching the screen where you want the main focus point to be. Used in conjunction with the follow focus you've got above, it will be MUCH easier to get the right footage, the first time. http://www.camranger.com/ Thoughts? Its a $300 bit of kit, so certainly not cheap, but I can't find any other items/connections out there that do similar. Also keen to work with others on here. Any feedback is good feedback! Even if its how to improve. Without being told we're doing something wrong, we can never learn properly! Cheers, Shazza
  2. Good luck mate!
  3. I had a similar issue. My driveway is quite steep, and my exhaust was always scraping on the road when I drove into the driveway. Then, about halfway up, it dips, then increases the gradient again. I bought a sheet of 20mm MDF from Bunnings for $30, cut it into rectangles about 50cm long by 20cm wide, glued 2 together so its total thickness was about 40mm, and drilled them into the concrete using masonry bolts, so they can be removed later. I only had to put 2 at the bottom of the driveway, and then another 2 halfway up. As long as you get the tyres on the boards on your way up and down, it doesn't scrape at all anymore. I also got one of those EZ Lips for my front bar, as its made out of foam, it stops the concrete scratching my bar if there is any issues.
  4. Good luck mate! I really really hope that all of this plays out in the best case scenario, and you make a quick recovery, and back doing skids in no time. Positive mindset at all times my friend! Cheers, Shazza
  5. Spotted a white 33 GTR on Wakehurst Parkway near Frenchs Forest yesterday. Looked awesome, nice wheel combo. Wouldn't have seen me as I was in the mrs i30 though.
  6. Hey mate, you aren't interested in selling just the rear CR KAIs are you? Cheers, Shazza
  7. Hahaha. You were spot on man. I blew all 3 fuses in my amp the other day. I have a heap of leftover MDF, so I think I might actually enclose it now!
  8. I see this car all the time. Does it have a black front bar? I saw it the other day parked outside of Hardware and General in Brookvale, and then again out the front of my work at Neutral Bay. And I think i've seen him in Seaforth where I live too. I spotted a white stage C34 the other day as well in Neutral Bay on my way home from work, that has a SAU sticker on the rear quarter window. Looked like an Asian chap driving. Gave the wave, but I don't think he saw me. Cheers, Shazza
  9. Having personally been in this car a few times, I can certainly vouch for its cleanliness and power. Whoever buys this will be VERY happy with it, no expense spared.
  10. Hey mate, I made that bit of MDF flat panel to fit snug in between the strut towers. The passenger side is tight, but there is a gap on the right hand side. I'm sure it would affect sound somehow, as it isn't sealed per say, but I got it all turned on yesterday, and it sounded good. It was way more punchy in the box I had it in, but it sounds pretty good the way it is. So yeah, no box. Just a flat panel of MDF, carpeted, and foam sealed around the edges. Amp is mounted in the boot, right below the boot release mechanism on the very back panel of the car. The sub is just 1 kicker 10" solobaric, and the amp is a fusion job. Cheers, Shazza
  11. Here is the install I attempted myself today in my R34. Sorry for the holy thread revival batman thing, beats starting a new thread though. Cheers, Shaz
  12. Spotted black 34 GTR on wakehurst parkway today. GODZLR was the plates.
  13. Only if the value is over $7200.00.
  14. Haha, thanks boss. Its a shame that the music from the 90's didn't flow through to the 00's and so on. All rap/rnb/etc these days is rubbish.
  15. SUU TUU TUU TUU TUU amidoingitrite?
  16. Haha, thanks for the welcome and the whoring of my thread! Cheers, Shaz
  17. Hey mate, Try Bankwest, or Esanda. I know they will do what you're looking for, so long as your car isn't more then 7 years old. Cheers, Shazza
  18. Hi mate, May I ask which bank this is with? PM if you prefer. I know this is certainly not the case with all banks, and we prefer to have some kind of security / collateral (ie: a car) then nothing at all, so if shit turns south, we have means to recover the funds. Cheers, Shaz
  19. G'day Guys, My names Shannon (Prefer Shaz, or Shazza) from the Northern Beaches in Sydney. I've been on here for a fair amount of time now I think, but don't post all that often. I've been getting a bit more involved recently, after the purchase of my R34 GTT, and looking to get more active in NSW events. I've previously owned an R33 S2 with HMA533 number plates, and numerous other non Datsun branded vehicles. (GZ20 Soarer/1JZ, Liberty Wagon w/ STi conversion, KE70 drifter, etcetc) I work as a Bank Manager at one of the big 4 banks, and also own my own business, which I run on the weekends and after hours. My current car is relatively stock, with 70,000 genuine KMs. Has a cat back exhaust, a bucket seat, Blitz ZZR coilovers and a some Work CR Kais. Plans are for a high flow turbo, a thick SMIC with a Cryo2 setup / Nismo air shroud, EBC, and dump pipe. Ideally, somewhere around the 350rwhp mark would be nice, but more importantly, it MUST be reliable, and super responsive, as this is my daily, and I have absolutely no need for a massive, child ingesting turbo. Hope to see some of you blokes at some meets in the near future. Doesn't seem to be many people from over on the Beaches on here so far. Oh, and excuse the dirtiness of the car in the below pics. It was a spur of the moment thing, and my car was filthy. Thanks guys, and look forward to contributing to this forums already sterling reputation (Yep, anchorman fan) Cheers, Shazza
  20. My GTT. Hate to be the combo breaker from all the GTRs, but here goes. All pics taken by Zoran Covic Photography. Check his stuff out on Facespace. http://www.facebook....ovicphotography Excuse the dirty car.
  21. Not me personally, but a mate had his WRX's Haltech tuned there. He had to take it back only once, for a very small hesitation that wasn't mapped into the ignition/fuel map correctly, but other then that, he said it was one of the best tunes he's had, and made loads of response for the setup he had. Having seen their Pulse Racing WTAC Evo in the flesh, these blokes do not lack attention to detail. He gave them a 8.5/10 for his tune, and the cost was fairly reasonable too. Cheers, Shazza
  22. Spotted a black S1 R33 coming up Spit Hill between Seaforth and Mosman this morning. Had a FMIC behind. Didn't catch the plate. Gave the wave, don't think you saw me.
  23. Yeah, they should secure it against a car that is already in Aus and has been complied/registered. I don't think you'd have an issue here. This would be the easiest, and cheapest way to do it. You just don't get the benefit of as much choice in AUS, compared to Japan.
  24. Hahaha, awesome.
  25. Nah, I wanted to go, but missed out because my mate was meant to get the tickets, then ended up hitting the greenery instead, and forgot. Bastard. I still haven't forgave him to this day. Will check out How Ya Like Me Now, tonight. I don't think I've got that one.
