  1. I don't know which colour it is but yes you DO NEED IT. When you get your SAFC tuned it has 8 points of adjustment on two different settings... high and low throttle. It needs this reading to determine your throttle obviously.
  2. I was about to order HKS and after hearing stories from a friend I've decided to give the HKS a miss. I am now going to probably get the Tomei Cam gears. Tomei make two types - 1) A steel wheel with steel teeth and 2) an alluiminium one. Someone has told me that the alluminium one has steel teeth still. Does anyone know? Also how much difference would you expect the weight of the gears to make?
  3. I'm a fan of the stock look. Get one that matches your dash .... you don't want green and red dash and BRIGHT baby blue gauges for example...
  4. erm.... nothing
  5. If they're whiteface and light up light blue go with Apexi EL gauges. They look fullllly sick!
  6. Yes thats exactly what I've done. All you need to do is "Initialise" the SAFC. Theres a setting for this. You then make sure it knows the car type, the number of inputs and outputs and just leave the correction at 0. This means it wil read in Aiflow and feed it back to ECU as is without correction. Just make sure you initialise it.
  7. As the title says. Preferably in the north side.... how much do these guys charge? Thanks
  8. Takakaira is only a well known shop in Australia. Takakaira Japan does not have a showroom nor do they stock any parts in their office. You can call them in Japan and they'll tell you the same thing. Theres plenty of places to buy brand new stuff at retail which is still cheaper than Australia. The big retail store there is Super Autobacs and theres a few around Tokyo. Theres quite a few other places as well.
  9. I think QT don't do Perth. Definitely Sydney and Melbourne and I think Brisbane.
  10. The old Z cars are great to look at and restore in my opinion. I know cars like this fetch sh*tloads of money in Japan. If you're interested you shoudl check out the Z car club in Ausrtralia. I know there is at least one Z running an RB26DETT and another running an RB25DET Neo.
  11. Yeh I'm very happy about it. Just need to get it tuned a bit now. On the manual it says the GTR is a HW-3 so I'm assuming that its just Hotwire with sensor number 3? But I guess this must be it cos when i set it any other way it almost stalls at idle.
  12. Yeh I was the first car at the lights and I saw a Yellow 355 Spyder pull around the corner with what looked like a white R33 GTR - Jason??. They both immediately gunned it and the sound of the ferrari was just f*cken phenomenal.... GTR's aren't the quietest cars but even after they had gone around the corner and were way out of sight the roar from the fezza was screaming.... hgihlight of my night!! ...
  13. When initialisiting the SAFC and you go into the etc -> Sensor Type -> Hotwire Do you set both the "In" and "Out" sensors to the sensor number or just the "In". I set just the "In" and it was idling rough... Also in the "Car Select" when you choose 6 cylinders which day does the arrow point? Diagonal upright or downright?
  14. Mick - what brand cam gears?
  15. really? hmmm interesting... might have to invest in an oil cooler.
  16. We ended up connecting mine to the metal part around the ignition.
  17. I *think* GTR injectors are 444cc
  18. That sounds normal to me. I can't see my temp very accurately cos the gauge reads only 70-150. When I was on the track it read 120.
  19. Although I believe the powerFC is a very good ECU replacement (and I was amazed at the number of options of tuning it had when my friend fired his up for the first time the other nite) I wonder how much bang for bucks it has when running the ceramic standard turbos. I was in exact position about 3 days ago choosing between powerFC and SAFC and I got the SAFC cos I thuoght it would do almost (obviously not AS good) a job but saved around $1200 or so from a second hand powerFC. With $1200 you can do quite a lot of other shit and I'm intending to spend it on cam gears + front pipes + dump pipes. But its all up to you.... when it comes time to get bigger turbos I'll get a powerFC then. In terms of pure power the cam gears + SAFC are more bang for bucks... the powerFC allows you to do more later and adds efficiency throughout all tuning aspects giving more balance.. but at a price.
  20. It allows you to keep your oil cooler when running the car hard for a long time. Or on a hot day. Such as on the track.
  21. R33 GTR's do not come with one. I think only the N1. The trust core is around $1.5K from takakaira if you want the remote oil filter kit otherwise its about $500 less. Theres a few other options though.
  22. Well the Nismo Stagea Autech is basically a GTR wagon and if you got the latest model would cost you almost the same as an R34 GTR. If you can get that you can pretty much sell it and buy the other 3 haha.. From what I've heard the Evo would be the best of the rest. But if you can get a Nismo Stagea Autech why not just by an E55 AMG sedan second hand. Afterall isn't it the fastest 4 door in the world (production that is) and its a 4 door haha
  23. do the SAFC and cams I got my SAFC today and ordering my cams tomorrow. sent you a PM
  24. Advan stock quite a lot of Trust/Greddy stuff. Powerplay C&V, Croydon
