  1. I'm not talking to anyone in particular in this thread but how many of you have actually driven an R34 GTT. How many have driven the GTR as well? I you've driven an R34 GTT you'll realise how different it is to an R33 GTS-T. Also if you drive a GTR there is again a huge difference. This is stated by most people anyway because its an obvious fact. The R34 GTT is in my opinion (and everyone has their own) a lot better to drive than an R33 GTS-T. As people know.. the R34 was based back on the R32 chasis to "bring the driver closer to the car" again. The R34 develops more power and torque and does this quite easily in most gears even before boost comes on. The steering is not light like an SS Commodore (although your comment about most new cars is valid... I think Nissan turbos are slightly different.... I would say for example an S13 is more raw than an S15 but thats not what I'd look for in a car) and you get good response, the throttle response is excellent and the power delivery is smooth (in standard form). Although heavier when I drove the R34 it felt lighter than an R33 and more nimble. If you haven't driven one... test drive one and compare it to your GTS-T and you'll notice differences. If you have to live with the car everyday the interior is also nicer etc etc..... I'm not gonna say I don't care aout the looks of the car cos I do.... and I thnk the R34 looks nicer (in my opinion) than the previous GTS-Ts (but not an R33 GTR ). If everyone was pure sports car enthusiasts with no regard for looks why don't we see more GTi-R's on the street. I wuld still consider the R34 GTT.... its also hard to find good examples of R32 GTRs....
  2. The JZX100 (or the later models of it) use a 1JZ single turbo same as the late model Soarers (as the early ones use a twin setup). Both the late soarers and the Chaser also have VVTI. Essentially they are the same engine. In terms of twin setups.. I'm assuming you're talking about Japan as theres barely any JZX100's in Australia... if you are yes it has been done many times over. I disagree with the comment that people buy single turbos because they are "cheaper". A turbo conversion is not a cheap exercise either way but consider why someone may buy two singles as opposed to a large single on a GTR. They'll have different characteristics in responsiveness, power, lag etc etc.
  3. R34 GTT.... or Series 3 GTR
  4. hmmm interesting :uh-huh: anyway it all boils down to money ... if i had the money it would be powerFC pro with the boost kit...... simple
  5. http://www.nengun.siteblast.com/gallerymor...&galleryid=4176 Yep I just saw it. For what it is thats is DAMN cheap. The E-manage is slightly better than the S-AFC. It's still a piggyback system however it has way more functionality. In terms of changing AF it has more mapping points. But you can also change the ignition timing as well. So its really like a unichip or something... a piggyback with full tuneability.
  6. Joe... are you sure its that cheap? The e-manage retail price in Japan is at least around $600-$700.... to configure it without controller or screen you use a laptop and a dyno. The e-manage software runs on Window. My friend who bought one said it was $1000 all up... because no one really has it here he had to buy the software and a few snesots (all incl. in that price). That price is from perfect run.
  7. Dude bad luck about the car.... do you mind me asking which part was it parked at and what alarm you had??
  8. Happy B'day Eric..... will see you around soon.
  9. How much is nengun's emanage sell for? I asked this before but do any of you actually have an emanage installed?
  10. yeh perfectrun is good. A mate of mine actually ordered their e-manage unit from them. He has ordered some other stuff as well. He has always got prompt service.
  11. wow... definitely LOOKS cool..... but according to tat website its called the "Profec E-01"... isn't it? Anyway I wonder if you get the e-manage and the screen and hand controller for that price... it would be around $1000 Aussie (not delivered though).
  12. Nick - Good to hear. Do you know what was the cause of the leak mate?
  13. Kenny - about a year ago i had to choose between R34 GTT and R33 GTR. I chose a GTR and I do not regret it at all. My friend Franky who just got his R34 delivered had to make the same decision (look in general section for a thread by Franks). I have driven his car and he's driven mine and I can guarantee whichever car you choose you'll be happy. Insurance is a bitch. I'm insured for around $4500 and if i had an R34 GTT it would be maybe a $1000 less.... for the small (relatively) difference insurance was not one of my concerns then. I reckon running costs are similar (I know lots of ppl will argue about this with me)... but mods are more expensive in the GTR cos you need to buy 2x everything. The other car I considered at the time was a RZ Supra.... but the GTR being a 'purer' sports car and legend I guess I couldn't go past it. It comes to personal taste. The R34 imho is a better looking car than my GTR but my GTR outperforms it.... anyway hae a look.... its up to what you want.. Both our cars are here: http://www.markpakula.com/cruise/
  14. dude your phone has been disconnected....anyway PM me another number cos i wanna pick up my pod gauge from you. Cheers
  15. Jimbo - Melb for 2 weeks. Be back soon =) Franky..... we are sexy bitches YEH!!!
  16. Drove this car last nite (thanks Franky ) don't worry.. we didn't do any :burnout: in your car It feels fantastic.... the 34's are nice and responsive and feel more nimble then an R33. Cruise again soon when I get back mate.
  17. Young GT-R, Nice car man.... I have a friend who is about to buy an R32 GTS-T that's black as well. Can I ask what are the stats on your car?? as in how many km's and what mods does it have? But man I like the front bar and the polished rims...
  18. if it fits R33 GTR I'll take it you have mail
  19. you can get decent gauges cheap. Nengun has mechanical Apexi and Greddy gauges for around $160 with around $40 shipping. This is not that much to pay for an accurate Jap brand gauge.
  20. Yes its true BUT: 1) you must have a full time job 2) you msut finance your car or refinance your car with them other than that they are good I know a few of the guys working there
  21. when Sky. aust becomes a registered club is it possible at all to rganise any insurance deals or fleets? cos I read somewhere plces like prosperion can offer insurance for car clubs...
  22. hmmm fatz could you let me know the number too I'm interested. Thanks
  23. Andrew - I agree that the PFC is a full ECU replacement which is only good if you're going to be chasing big HP which most people on this thread have agreed. However for amildly tuned package of up to 500hp its probably not necessary. My decisions is that for me and I'm sure for most people NOT building a 1000hp GTR the e-manage seems to be sufficient of the job. It has the features I was looking for in the PFC at only $300US which makes it cheaper than a unichip. It has the ability to run either MAP or AFM (which can be enlarged to Z32 etc). The 16x16 may look small but really does it matter that much when doing a mild tune? Also it lets you alter ignition timing slightly from the base ECU. I would be happy with this though as I wouldn't need to remap my entire ECU. In any case it seems to be an issue of value for money. As it costs as much as a S-AFC rather than a PFC with some PFC features perhaps the question I should have asked is e-manage vs S-AFC. Silver-Arrowz - I believe all piggybacks intercept signals and send out different ones but thats not a bad thing.
  24. What are peoples thoughts on this. Obviously the PFC is a tried, tested and trusted solution for GTR's and skylines in general. Althought the PFC is a full replacement ECU and the e-Manage is a piggyback system they seem to serve the same purpose.
  25. Does anyone know where I can view this online or even bits of it? This is for an R32 GTR or R33 GTR. thanks
