  3. even though the Advan GTR started as a GTS4 its had a full transplant of all the GTR gear. Even most of the panels are GTR so its more a GTR than a GTS4. The only GTS4 part I can tell really is the sunroof.... then again I don't know a great deal about it. The japs seem to like the Profec better but then again the Apexi has the nice rice factor Also if you plan to get a PowerFC the AVC-R is an easy option.

  6. Hi people, not sure if this has been asked before but is there any advantage in resetting the ECU after the car comes to Aust (no mods except zorst). I've heard that this allows the engine management to slightly adjust to aust. conditions or is this BS? Thanks
  7. what exactly is the difference between dot 4 and dot 5. If i have good dot 4 is it as good as an average dot5? btw its an R33 GTR....

  11. What break fluid should I use in the GTR? The car will mainly be daily driven with the occasional once every 2-3 month track run? so far I've been recommended HKS (too pricey for me) and Motul which seens pretty fairly priced.
  12. what is the range on the boomerang? 1pt immobiliser is dodgy as.... if your out of the range then 1pt any thief can get around. I think 3rd party tracking such as carcom or quiktrak is much better. Or jsut get a better alarm with more pts of immoblisation. Cheers
  13. XrSiSt, I'm located in the north shore but I don't mind going for a drive to get this done... its my front skirting.... its had a bit of a small prang with a high gutter and needs to fixed.... where do u recommend? Cheers

Hi guys, I saw a report on TV a few months back and also a friend has told me that if you have a slightly cracked or chipped plastic front skirt/sideskirt or whatever that some smash repairers have plastic welders these can actually add more plastic on and weld it back into shape... then it just needs a respray.. does anyone know who can do this? Cheers

  18. what model is the tracker?? I called QT today and they said that it would cost close to $700 for the install even if I took your alarm. The reason is that wiring, looms are not compatible so the final cost is $1500.... not worth it unless you sell for a lot less..

  22. Hi, Bad luck on the badging mate... anyway Justjap stock them from memory. I don't think they cost too much and they're new too. Unfortunately I think you'll need a seperate key for your boot now (not necessarily a bad thing). I'm not sure about the diff types but I think the GTR ones are a non-polished type and some of the othe ones I've seen on some of the GTS-T's are like a shiny smaller polished type. Cheers
  23. no cat or gutted cat carries a huge fine of more than $1000 I believe... not sure about this but it makes not a huge difference to performance anyway...

There are no ADR's that say things such as "big turbos are not permitted" and "no BOV's permitted"... the ADR's say stuff like "you are not permitted to alter the emissions of the car by alteration of exhaust and intake systems" or something similar. In this way I think if you change to any non-standard items in the intake or exhaust part you are effectively changing the emissions. Turbos, BOV's, exhaust etc are all parts of the intake and exhaust and will change the emissions.... this is where it is grey...
  25. Well my car arrived last nite to find out today from my customs agent that my car has been audited. Apparently this is "random" and is generated automatically by a "computer". So i asked the agent what needs to be done... First customs wants us to organise an independant valuer to value the car..... and then I pay tax on that value (although I've been told that sometimes the value can come in less than what is declared I doubt this will be the case). Also I have to pay for the valuation myself.... why the f*ck should I pay for it since I have all documentation and receipts to prove the cost of the car... that is BS for one. So lets say someone finds a really good deal in Japan and gets the car here for cheap and then some d*ckhead goes "NO you can't do that.... since I have a shitter car than you or because I am inadequately sized you'll have to pay more tax". This will prolong the time that the car sits on the dock in which case I again have to pay for the car sitting on the docks while the d*ckhead customs organise themselves.... and has anyone noticed how BS the tax is.... first all cars under $55K get taxed at 15% for customs duty tax.... then this amount is FURTHER taxed at 10% GST.... hold on.... isn't that tax being payed on tax? WTF? Well now that I've vented I feel better..... has this happened to anyone else??
