ah damn... i posted too soon. i just read in my notes that gauge pressure measures pressure differences from the atmosphere, so i was right.
thanks anyways everyone
hey,
when people refer to how much boost they're running in a car, for example 7psi in a stock skyline.. is this a relative pressure reading? it cant be absolute right? atmospheric pressure is 101.325kN/m^2 which is just about equal to 1 bar... so if it were absolute that means the turbo would be working backwards (for cars running less than 1 bar)... right? which is nonsense obviously.
does a reading of 7psi mean 7 + atmospheric?
thanks
Yeah that's my main hesitation really. would it be a clash of styles?
let's say the whole thing will cost about 3.5k with genuine bar and bonnet, still think getting r34 is better?
Hey SK,
So all those suspension specialists you listed on the first page, I'm assuming they all have your tick of approval? Got a few quotes which range quite a bit so wondering what the difference is between them.
hmm.
did u find out about what they do to keep structural integrity? are there supports/braces etc added?
I am interested, but i'm a bit worried about leaks etc.. and i kinda wanted it to open inside like a factory roof. plus it is quite a bit of money.
i also have an alarm sitting here which needs installing, so if the price is right i could get them both done i guess.
hey ppl,
my cousins just purchased a 2way, so he's selling his r32 locked diff.
its still on the car so no pics, but it works well.
$80 pick up only located past roxy.
also 20mm vented wide body guards for r32 unpainted brand new, $200
hey thanks for all the replies... unfortunately didn't read them all in time
I ended up using some DOT 3 penrite with a dry boiling point of 275 degrees celcius. Pretty damn high if you ask me considering the dot standards..
Dry Boiling Point Wet Boiling Point
DOT 3 205°C (401°F) 140°C (284°F)
DOT 4 230°C (446°F) 155°C (311°F)
DOT 5 260°C (500°F) 180°C (356°F)
DOT 5.1 270°C (518°F) 191°C (375°F)
Hey people,
Installing some new slotted rotors + pads tomorrow so I'm gonna get my brake fluid flushed and refilled while i'm at it. The reserve says to use only DOT 3 fluid. So is it not safe to use DOT 4 or 5.1 which are supposedly better?
i cleaned my engine bay with the degreaser and highpressure water both from the carwash. didn't really do all that much, but the water had no adverse affects at all.
i've got a series 2 though, so starter motor is down with the ecu (right?), and i covered the snorkle and a few other little bits with plastic bags.
next time i might try a canned degreaser.
