  1. Toro Rosso becomes Team Sebastien next year. Bourdais confirmed in the main seat. I hope Vettel beats him
  2. I am still not over the moon about the changes. BUT after reading a lengthy response from Mr Benson I am satisfied it is at least for the right reasons. Keeping costs down is great, also reducing transit time is great and the fact that there will still be a couple of south stages is some consolation at least. If it brings more exotic and interesting cars (and people) to the event then I guess the changes are a good thing. As long as we get plenty of coverage for those of us that can't follow the circus around the state.
  3. Hmmm I was thinking maybe Webber and McLaren as well. Could be a good combo!! As for the Hungaroring I think Kimi summed it up in his usual beautifully succinct style "Race is boring" Put Zandvoort back, or A1 Ring or Imola? or Hockenheim or freaking a million other good tracks that can't afford Bernie.
  4. Pot holes, gravel?? Its a tarmac rally what do you expect!!!! I can understand the motivation, competitors don't want to risk their expensive cars and keeping it in one area geographically probably keeps cost down as well, something that Targa drastically needs. I still think it is an appalling decision. Might as well cancel the whole event and extend Rallye Burnie or something.
  5. Disgusting conduct from Gordon. I'm sure Ambrose would have apologised at the end of the race, punting people off happens. Its a shame but thats racing. Talk about a spoiled little kid. What the hell is Robby Gordon doing in Busch anyway??? Or am I thinking of Jeff?
  6. Anyone care to explain why Targa Tasmania has decided to exclude the southern half of the state next year???!!!!?!? Pretty damn ordinary decision.
  7. Ok so Lewis disobeyed team orders.....bad. BUT those team orders were in order to benefit Alonso and possibly jeopardise Hamilton. So I have no problem that Hamilton didn't obey, however Alonso acting like a little girl and stopping Hamilton going out for a final lap was pathetic. Massa's car was a dog, once again showed he can't do anything unless he is leading from the front.
  8. ^^^ I'm comfortable with that Why not Chris Amon and Denny Hulme as well!!!
  9. Montoya got preferential treatment as he brought WAY bigger sponsorship money. But probably would have shaded him anyway. Lowndes wouldn't have had the mental toughness I don't think. Especially not if he ended up in the tree.....
  10. Your choice of car was a big mistake.....as was borrowing money. If you are going to track cars you WILL break things, the more powerful the car the more you will break. Must sound harsh, but them taking the car could be the best thing to ever happen. Clear some debt get yourself in the black then start with something a bit more realistic to your budget.
  11. It's unfortunate but thats the way it has always been and will continue to be in all top level motorsport. Remember Vern Schuppan had a great opportunity until someone called Niki Lauda came along with lots of $$$$. Same with Chris Atkinson in WRC, he is there because he keeps writing big cheques.
  12. Was your wedding photo in the paper the other day Stu?? It was a Stuart Benson and looked a bit like you....but it might've been a funny angle and I wasn't sure.......
  13. I'm not sure....but you would need a FULL roll cage, fire extinguisher, tow hooks, harnesses, terra-trip?? and many other things. Others can answer a lot better than me though...
  14. I would have loved to have seen Briscoe make F1. I really think he would have been up there if he could have escaped the clutches of the lesser teams.
  15. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That is the funniest post I have read in a long time. Not a lot of talent in the field?? Sorry but keep dreaming. We may whinge about Massa or Alonso or R. Schumacher or whatever.....but the fact remains all these guys have driving ability beyond our wildest dreams. I love Skaife, awesome driver but so what if he won the Formula Holden championship? Craig Lowndes was JPM's teammate in F3000 but didn't get anywhere.
  16. I believe they came to Australia in 1992?? Was canned after the horrific F40 crash in the N.T I believe. As for the video, pretty much the most appalling display of driving I have ever seen.
  17. Sorry but that is the worst thing I have ever read haha Apart from them both being Brazilian......No doubt Massa is very quick IF he is leading the pack on a dry warm track. He has shown he is utterly useless at every other point. However the mysterious Schumacher jinx continues!!! Every race he has attended Kimi has been nowhere and Massa has done well.....spooky. Nick Hiedfeld I believe it was collected one of the medical cars in ......2002 perhaps??? Was an alarming incident. That first corner was crazy. However its not surprising they all went off. There would have been absolutely zero grip. Amen to that, I am not a huge Fernando fan either but he is immensely good. As soon as the rain came down I knew Massa was gone. Alonso is very very good in the rain. I noticed that!!!! Ted made the call about Schuey leaving the pitwall then he appeared wearing that shirt!!!!!!!! This would also have to be up there for James Allen's worst call ever.......best moment I believe was at one point apparently Massa was lapping "8 seconds a lap" faster than his rivals. Quite impressive. To sum up, Kimi would have won if not for unreliability again!! Lewis was very impressive but made some mistakes. He is only human and a couple of his passes on Fisichella were fabulous. A great race!!!!
  18. How bizarre.......he spooked Massa though.....check out how many times he checks his mirrors down the front straight haha Schuey thought it was all a bit amusing.
  19. All good mate, no offence taken. Personally I couldn't give two shits if Spyker disappear off the face of the earth either. I follow drivers not teams. Looks like my news was false anyway, Winkelhock is not confirmed as they are apparently waiting for Klien to come up with more moolah!! Shame its like that, I would prefer they chucked all candidates in the car and fastest lap time gets the seat!!
  20. Geez.....someone got out of the wrong side of bed. I think everyone was well aware Albers was dropped a while ago but as his replacement was still up in the air when I read news that Winkelhock was fairly certain for the seat I thought I might share.
  21. Winkelhock gets Albers seat apparently......for the Nurburgring at least.
  22. Hamilton is nothing, I put a Jordan on pole in my first grand prix by 9 seconds....... :laughing-smiley-014: Sorry bought my first F1 game yesterday...... +1 for Piquet Jnr. Seems like he is fairly arrogant and likes to make his mind known just like his old man but I reckon he will do well. Hopefully Bernie is right and this won't affect the drivers championship.....although it is hard to see how that is fair is someone has gained an unfair advantage. But as it has been so close all year I don't really see how they could have. Time will tell.
  23. To be honest I agree with you 100% but I widened the margin to a second as I couldn't be bothered starting a shitfight when people arced up that "such and such" was awesome etc. That MSN pic=funny!!
  24. well said, all 22 drivers in the same car would be covered by about a second a lap I reckon. You don't get to F1 without being staggeringly good in a racing car. Even guys like Albers, Ralf Schumacher etc. They have still have driving skill on another level to most people.
