i think anyone who has built a rb26 will understand the expenditure if u want it done correctly and with decent parts and its more than a rs four stagea i can say that much alone. ken i think 45k is very reasonable for the mods, and how recent the motor has been built and the quality of the parts u have used. i have gone off stageas or i would think about it for sure, i think u just need to not rush the sale, take it to some carshows/cruises etc and take people for a spin and they will be gobsmacked because 99% of regular skyline drivers think 200awkw is alot. if u have trouble selling then rip the motor sell it seperate and replace with a stock front cut rb26 and sell it stock or advertise your motor on the for sale section and swap for a stock 26, and cash difference. they can test drive yours and u can do the same with the stock engine. worth a try if all else fails. and if u other guys think 260rs rb26s are gonna be any better than gtr ones u are dreamin, once they do 100 clicks they are on the way out and only a matter of time before u spend big bucks fixing them im afraid. these random japanese auction ones mean bugger all till u do a compression test on the motor and see it in person. they all look good on paper but real inspections show the true colours of these cars history. Ken theres only a few percentage of people who have done up there cars to the degree u have and they think 10k oh thats gonna be 450awkw, rims, brakes, etc, etc ,etc easy done. i reckon ive spent 10k minimum on parts that i wouldnt even list on a build up spec sheet and they just dont see it. anyway mate good luck with it all, ill keep an ear out for anyone interested cheers Brad

jesus Dale, sorry to see it the way it is mate, i only saw it on saturday night and it was clean as, its a bad feeling when someone does that to a car u know and love soo much and had so many plans for. do u think its repairable now or a write off? if its a write off will u be getting another stagea? good luck with whatever happens mate and hope u and your family are fine

ive had abit of experience with the gtr lsd and in 2wd and 4wd (had around 550rwhp), 2wd = major major drift action and damn easy to control these long wheel base designs, i could fishtail up the road as far as i want and in any gear lol and 4wd is pretty damn good i never really tried any hard cornering with full power because i never got a chance, but 8000rpm launches and its smokin the 2 rears and 1 front wheel oh god i miss the power of my baby, the gto is seriously lacking in the power department at the moment
-
the stagea behind it has wayyy better wheels imo, race wheels are soo much cooler than bling bling
-
hey i think your bad luck is from coming near my house and my leakdown tester lol, it hasnt created much luck for any car thats entered our garage ever hopefully its gone from out garage now for good just kidding mate im sorry to hear about the 33 and cheers for the power steering bracket, ill grab it off u when u either come down this neck of the woods, or when the cruise is on. cheers

ill be willing to write some tech articles on all the sort of mods ive done like converting to rb26, and gtr diff, manual conversion, brembo upgrade, etc etc etc for people wanting info on modifications to save the same questions being asked over and over and over again every other week... -

Stagea Manual Conversion Guide
overpowered replied to tRUkbOY's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
the recess part that the booster sits in doesnt come from nissan, its part of the firewall on autech models, so we made our own out of 4' pipe and some other metal and abit welding and it looks neat and pretty hard to notice with the engine in -

heres a couple of pics of the recessed booster and i always say do things once and do em right, i dont replace broken bits with the same bits (except maybe gtr gearboxes because gearsets, etc are soo $$$) i broke an axle with 350rwhp so that aint exactly heaps of power to be snapping things, andf it wasnt even a launch it was a roll on in 1st gear, just coming on boost -

correct, and yes ive had plenty of issues over the years doing the manual conversion and gtr diff/axles/uni joints, brakes, fuel system etc because no one has done it on a stagea before that i could speak to anyway. oh the joys of pioneering -

thats the thing.. i got a gtr master and vacuum assist setup and a 260rs pedal and pedal box, so that means the pedal is meant to be recessed in 40mm like the autech (same as gtr's as well) and why yours infact needs spacers to make up the extra 40mm my pedals line up spot on as they should -

i didnt move my brake booster at all, it fits fine just like the autech. i got a photo somewhere ill have to try and dig up the vacuum assist part is recessed 40mm into the firewall so only the master itself sticks out next to the brake booster -
just remember u dont need much pressure at all and very little air to get it circulating
-
yes make a rubber bung or something to seal the top of the master and cut a tiny hole in it and put the air comp gun into it so its sealed and fluid doesnt go flying everywhere. yes leave the bleed open. dont put much air into it, it only requires enough to force the fluid through the line and get all the air pockets out. hold the bung on hard to incase it wants to pop off the master good luck
