mmm been wondering what my car with vs kf's would look like, very very nice haha might have to yoink my mates, what size/offset is that crankin on the rears? oh and the pick of the slammed gemini i posted up, turns out he's the owner of my old 32 4dr that i also posted here, the one sittin 5mm off the ground hahaha
-
yeah i completely forgot bout this cruise, i was out in my ol school corolla hatch cruisin the coast with mates when a shower of cars passed us heading twards cottesloe, there wasnt a break in cars untill trigg, man thats gota be the biggest ive seen yet, any sau people see me cruise passed the wrong way haha beeping and waving at everyone, i did see bubba launch from the lights in scabs next to a white 33
-
mmm now i think i remember bubba on here put 34gtt rims on his 32 after putting 33 calipers on and he needed 5mm spacers that made the rims just clear on the front, not sure with 32 stockers though, if you're reading lyell wana shed some light? Haha

Nah just massive lips, once the machine was done, it only just came to over the allowable limit, for some reason european cars chew out their discs quick aye, get shit loads of astras doing it
-
hahaha oh dont make me laugh dude haha 1st your saying- whats been said is utter crap, then you ask how do you tell if they'd need machining, c'mon mate stop being a keyboard warrior and actually read whats being said, im actually giving out much needed info, or this poor the sphincter of the universe will go out and get whatever done which might not be the right way, the guy asked for info so i gave it, people got a prob with it then maybe they need to go to tafe for 4 yrs And yes grooves and lips on discs do add to shortened pad life so a machine could be a good option on your next pad change Also dsturbd yeah we've had a couple of people come back bout 6 months or so later saying theres pulsation again but thats only been with the falcons and commodores and one case with a discovery 3 landrover, and we only machined their pads coz the price of discs was a bit much for them at the time
-
We have a machine that gets regularly used as most people either dont have the money or they decide against new rotors, we give our all our customers either option and they decide on what they want to do, we skim discs but not drums-machine fitting for that went walk about long before i started work there and as for flywheels we send those away
-
A. TAKUSHI, why did you quote yourself? (Twice) Because im making a point and someone who spends that much time on sau alone needs to get out and experience life once in a while, not tryin to sound like a dick but damn thats alot of free time and to miss my point in my 1st post C. From my 1st hand experience, when i imported my car i was told "all of your rotors need to be skimmed", 3 years later... same rotors, same pads, no skimming, still going (40,000kms.) Again depends on driver, you hammer your brakes, you'll chew them out quicker and glaze them up, if you fit a metalic compounded pad they'll chew out your rotors quicker and yes ive never had to skim my discs or change my pads but thats coz driving a manual has its advantages Anyway, if skimming was sooooo bad, why would it be an option? But seeing as you asked, skimming is just the cheapest way of getting more life out of your brakes. buying new rotors, in the end, saves you money
-
haha oh really?? aaand you still manage to repeat what ive already told him 68*** posts and counting....4 yrs of experience as a mechanic and counting
-
i know plenty mate, im saying a brand new disc will last longer than a disc thats been skimmed, we've had plenty of customers come in after having other places skim discs and what you they're warped again and pal as for me refering to commodores and falcons, brakes are brakes dude, it all comes down to brand of disc and driver that determines the life of a disc, just coz they're all autos Gwp021 just save yourself the hassle and go buy new rotors, coz if you're going to spend money on oomph you wanna know you'll stop fine, its called piece of mind
-
haha commodores and falcons do it all the time buddy and just think about that for a sec, the discs are going to be thinner therefore they cant handle as much heat as they could when they were thicker, and yes that couple of mm does make the difference otherwise they wouldnt have such a small margin of wear between new and throw in the bin, i'd just go brand new or upgrade now your car will then be ready for more power mods, if not then at least you know you'll pull up sweet everytime haha
-
k well i personally would buy brand new ones if i could afford them If you get your discs skimmed then they're more likely to warp again quicker, because you've made them thinner they wont be able to handle the heat as easy, also if they fall below minimum thickness after skimming then you'll need to replace them If your going to get 2nd hand ones then make sure they're well above the minimum thickness as they may end up needing a machine themselves Are you actually getting a pulsation through your steering wheel when you pull up a little harder than usual? Help :( R32 Hard Brake Pedal, Can't Find Out What It Causing It.
TAKUSHI replied to Ten Four's topic in Western Australia
Mmm i know you might be the guy who gave me the warn on this but ima have to say fail on that one aye, as a mechanic i can say that air in system will cause a spongey pedal and lesser response upon application Its sounding more like booster but also check where the vacuum line connects to the manifold, start it with that line off and make sure its sucking in air, also check that the booster vacuum hose isnt sucking closed under vacuum when you push the pedal -

hi guys after the mysterious disappearance of europrojex, ive been trying to find a work shop in perth that can get a hold of the kit for round the same price, they had them for 990 fitted-may have only been copy kits but thet doent bother me if anyone knows that'd be sweet
-
mmm maybe its a case of oooh ive seen this car at auto salon, lets go and take it a bit like what happend to a mate of a mate who owned the black chaser with the plates jz, some guys stole pretty much his whole boot install
-
Nah i worded that sorta wrong haha i ment like yeah ive been done but only the cops know that, so either way other motorists only look at my car and label me a hoon just by what i drive all coz of what the wa police have got going with the whole anti hoon s@%t, ive learnt my lesson and hey you cant honestly say there's even one person on here that has never commited some sort of hoon offence. Not gettin fumed up just rewriting how i should have written it
-
mmm thats funny coz on my cef its write off value is $8500 but they've also agreed to cover my exh, my seats, stereo, intercooler, bov, coilovers and up to $700 worth of rims, i started out back on my p's paying $1600 a yr then a yr later it came to $1300, that was pretty much the same when i had my 32 4dr, no extra btw if you've lost your licence
-
mmm id like to willingly take a cop on my peak hour run to south of the river and show him just how other motorists are driving, coz yeah thaey have undercover boys driving round but 1. like they give a rats 2. as soon as a cop is spotted everyone drops 20 and does the speed limit, im a commiter of "hoons" myself and its the thought of the 2nd offence penalty thats been keeping my reckless behaviour at bay now for over a year and a half they've really gota find better things to do than driving round looking for hoons, why dont you drive round looking for suspicious people walking through a suburb, or too close to a house. im thinking of getting a list of number plates down, everytime i drive to my gf's place, and handing all those over to the police and saying well they're clearly going too fast for the driving conditions, some of them are tailgating, cutting across 3 lanes at once or not indicating on lane change, now call me stupid but hello its a form of careless/reckless driving, im almost prepared to mount a cam to my car to catch them in the act im sick of having the hoon label put against me for no f$%kn reason at all grrrr im sposed to be going to bed and now im all fired up, i COULD keep typing till a finger fell off but i wont, thats all for now
-
haha was funny though coz you had that gtr 34 too haha or was it the other one?
